Hi guys, so i just installed some HID lights on my 2014 DJ SXT and noticed that there was a connection by the passenger side headlights that had nothing connected on to it, the female connector has 2 purple wired feeding it and looks like it might be from an AC switch of some sort. I didnt see the male connector anywhere so i didnt connect anything to it, I was wondering if any of you have noticed this issue before or have a DJ that HAS THE MALE CONNECTOR ATTACHED? I bought the DJ used with 20k miles, but seems to be in excellent condition. I have attached pictures with the connector, any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!

No alarm, only remote un/lock and panic button, fog lights both work... car works perfectly, nothing wrong with it just not use to seeing these kinds of things on a fairly new car. you can see in the video how i traced it, and there seems to be nothing in the area that it could be connected to.

On my 2011 SXT that connector goes to a switch actuated by the hood , if

you look at his video of tracing the wire you can see the cut out for the switch

right next to the hood support spring/bumper is empty.

any idea what that switch might do?

I am not positive I know from the parts manual there is a similarly

pictured/described switch that is present for remote start ability.

I have remote start on mine.

I have not seen underhood lights standard on vehicles in a long time. My 95 Z71 has one, along with a nifty light with a cord mounted on the fender that you can extend about 5 feet. But oddly, newer cars don't seem to have them these days.

There is an option for antitheft, a more involved one that comes with the DJ. Maybe the hood switch would set off the alarm.

I hope you guys are happy I have been outside doing yard work for 4 hours

and your still guessing.

Well confirmed fact is (and I tested it) if the hood is ajar or up remote start

DOES NOT work and you get a message in the EVIC saying

"Remote Start Aborted Hood Ajar/Open"

Tada

Close, but no cigar! When you are done, you can come over and do mine. No yard work for a month for me!

OK; when is a hood not a hood? When it's ajar!
