Pbright220
Hello to everyone. I am Phil and just bought a 2017 Dodge Journey, 165,000 miles in what appears to be a very good vehicle. After much more investigations I learn the payload for towing is 2500lbs and I have a 21 foot sailboat that weighed in at just over 3000lbs. I'm considering having a class 3 hitch put on but am worried about the transmission handling it and the rear struts as well. And I have other questions as well and would love to be a part of this group of journey owners. Please give me any advice you can. Thank You. John/Horace
That weight wthout trailer brakes, illegal in some jurisdictions. The journey transmissions are not that tough...extra transmission oil cooler would be very good idea. Heavily reduced fluid change interval, the ATF4 is only semi synthetic.
