Strut Replacement for 4 cylinder

Recommended Posts

Are there special strut kits (springs and all) for the 4 cylinder Journey. I ordered and installed struts for mine and I'm pretty sure they are for a six cylinder. They work fine, but they raised the front end up a little. Also the traction control light came on and stayed on. Now I don't have cruise control.

Most aftermarket complete struts are "one size fits all", the ride height difference is from the SPRING rating and not the strut.

IF you just installed them, give it a couple weeks to "settle in" as the ride height will probably lower down some.

The Traction control light and loss of cruise is from a damaged wheel speed sensor. Auto parts stores will pull codes for free{resist buying needed parts from them...unless price is good},to tell you what specific corner the problem is on.

Thanks for the replies. Going to wait and see what the traction control light does after I get the front end re-aligned. Saw somewhere on here that if the steering wheel is not clocked dead center it will cause the light to stay on. More to come.

I haven't found any part stores ( orileys, advance auto, autozone) around me that can check abs codes with their meters. the mid grade ($150-200) harbor freight meters have the capacity to check them
