pkeller70
We have had our Journey for a little over a year, Mostly highway driving with an average of about 21-23 mpg, We took a long trip to Florida from Missouri , and was very surprised that we averaged over 26 mpg, with one tank being 29, I was very happy with that. What are you other Journey owners getting on long trips?
warbird24
Just picked up our 2010 Journey R/T on Thursday and the Wifey took it on it's maiden Trip from Upstate NY to Ohio and Back. Brand new, not broken in yet. 3 Adults, 2 Kids and bag and baggage. 1000 mile trip and she averaged 23.7 MPG and that was driving with the traffic flow. She said she was running 75-80 most of the trip so for me that seems great. Heavy rains on the way out. Gave it it's first bath this morning. MAN! this think is bigger than I thought! LOL! Will be waxing it here this week. Going to be a job. Wifey seems to love it so far. I had it all set-up for her, got the iPod hooked up and all the settings for the radio before she left. Very Pleased so far! chadwick
poznet
2010 Journey SE 2.4l getting 22mpg around town and 30-34mpg on the highway. I purchased an Autometer Ecometer guage that plugs into my obd2 port and gives me instant mpg, average mpg (car did not come with the information display). The car only has 6000km on the odo, so mpg should only get better. I do have to say that i'm a very easy driver and usually stick to the speed limit. Very happy with the vehicle so far.. no problems...I did however change out the front rotors as I did notice a vibration starting to develop... So for all those who wondered about the rotor issues still haunting the 2010s, yes it's still an issue. FYI, i put on Raybestos professional grade rotors, about $50 each from rockauto. The weight difference between the originals and the Raybestos is quite significant.
OddJob
2010 RT-AWD Did a 2800km trip to Black Hills SD and back. Mpg in Imperial gallons which are larger than US gallon. Lowest at 70-80mph = 28mpg. (into the wind) Highest at 70-80mph = 32 ( probably down wind...lol) This unit has been since replaced with a 2012 Edited October 19, 2012 by OddJob chadwick

Windancer
What are you other Journey owners getting on long trips? You can click on the MyFuelly logo at the bottom of my post if you are curious as to what I get in my 2010 Journey R/T. I must admit it is "all over the map" and is really dependant on the type of driving you do. My mileage is still around 9700 kms. Doug D
We are now on our 2nd Journey (a 2010 SXT 3.5L). Our first Journey*, a 2009 SXT w/3.5L, averaged 19-20 mpg in local driving, but on the highway it has gotten close to 26 mpg on trips to SC and NY. So far the 2010 seems to be about the same (so far only local driving). *The 2009 was traded in due to a CAN C bus issue - all the "idiot" warning lights on the dash kept cycling on. Last check, the dealer still hadn't figured out what was wrong.
flickjour1
We have the 2009 6cyl Journey and drive a lot of miles. We have 68K and most of them are highway miles. We get 19 to 21 in town and anywhere from 23 to 29 on the highway depending on fuel grade and tailwind vs headwind. We drive mostly in the Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Missouri area, so wind is always an issue.
Doug D
Update - the '10 Journey SXT (3.5L V6) is averaging 20-21 mpg in local driving and I have observed 26 mpg on the highway with the cruise set at 70 mph and AC on. If I have the car top carrier on top it drops to 24 mpg. flickjour1 - Yeah, I know about the winds in Kansas. Back in '95 we were driving from VA to CO via I-70 and it seemed I always had the steering wheel pulled slightly to the left the entire time I traveled through Kansas. On a positive note, our '92 Acclaim we had at the time averaged 26 mpg for the entire trip (4,000 miles). Not bad for it being fully loaded with a car top carrier and a bike rack on the back along with the wife and 3 kids.
dodgemommaz
2011 has had some great trips. In just under 1 year I put 18,000 miles on it. Several 1000 mile trips we're generous to us. Averaging 15-19 city but 26-29 hwy.
pcrmike
First couple tanks got 30.1 and 28.5 on the highway. Averaging about 23 all around. 2.4 4spd.
OddJob
My new one here with the Pstar engine is really good on fuel. A bit better than my 2010 was plus alot more power. Fuel wise Im pretty happy.
DAlnB
Only slightly better at 21-24 MPG than theCadilacEscalade I traded in on the 2011 Journey Crew. I expeted much better gas milegae as we retired and wanted to travel with a need to avoid paying for the Oil Company CEOs vactions also. I was shocked when I was charged $18.00 labor and 24.00 parts by my Dodge dealer to change the cabin air vent filter and although they use a Bulk Oil Dispenser I was charged for a full quart of oil when my car only uses 5 1/5 quarts; when asked why he said they had to "open another quart"! So much for dealership honesty!!! Last Dodge I will buy!!!! brian sullivan
Journey_SeXT
Replacing cabin air filters and oil changes are pretty easy to do on your own if you don't like the dealer's rates.
Windancer
What are you other Journey owners getting on long trips? I posted this in another thread and it also seems to fit in here. I have said this before, the gas mileage we are getting is relatively good, not great, but decent. Gas mileage is not a strong suit of this car. It is somewhat heavy and obviously the AWD will take away some mpg's. My personal mileage is probably higher than most, I usually travel at 120 kms/hr (75 mph) on the highway, not the lighest person on the gas but that's me. I just went to the My Fuelly site and these are the numbers I have for my 2010 Dodge Journey R/T AWD. The best I ever got was: 25.3 mpg (US gal) 30.4 mpg (Imp.gal) 9.3 l/100 kms. since I bought the car in August 2010 including all my warmups etc. my average mileage is: 14.8 mpg (US gal) 17.8 mpg (Imp.gal) 15.9 l/100 kms. There seems to be several factors that either increase or decrease my mileage: regular gas vs. premium gas - seem to get way better using premium Time of year - fall or spring seem to be the best as temps are cooler but not real cold Highway vs. City driving - given..... much better on the highway. City gas mileage seems to suck Just my personal thoughts and facts. You can click on the Fuelly logo and see what I have got with this vehicle since Day 1. Brucebotti
I think the mileage is decent for the size of the vehicle. I have a 2012 SXT with the pentastar V6. I only have 3,000 miles, and I am averaging 20mpg. I have had a low of 17.5 in all city driving. On a 400 mile round trip with seven of us aboard, I averaged 25.1. So far I am very pleased with the vehicle and the mpg. Bruce

rolly
I just put 58.2 litres of gas for 430 km's since last fuel up. 13.5L/100 km or 17.4 mpg (U.S) 95% city driving. I only have a total of 2206 km's since December when we got it. Didn't buy it for the gas mileage but for the size of the vehicle, I'm impressed. We're planning a major road trip later this spring through U.S and Canada and I expect it will only improve. Chris1276
Windancer
Terry, i cant right now i still have to post more so that forum allow me to send pm! But i respond to another thread about your pm! Chris not sure if you could read my PM or not. Basically all it said is that I would be happy to ask my dealer about your poor gas mileage, I know he wouldn't have anything definite without seeing your car, but he may be able to offer some suggestions for this. What did your dealer say they thought your problem was? I just wanted an email address to copy you in on, That's all. Maybe DodgeCares or DodgeCACares could weigh in on that subject. Just out of curiosity how many posts do they say you need before you can use the PM function?
