I’ll try to make this as detailed as possible. I have a 2016 Dodge Journey sxt.

Car runs well. Did a lot of driving today though.

Out of the blue today, engine light came on. Put in reverse and heard a clunking sound. Then drive, same noise. This has happened before but random and not for long time.

While driving was revving. Does not rev in P,R or N. The faster I went, seemed like wouldn’t change gears it just revved up and down but not passed 3000. I wasn’t far from home thank goodness.

When I got home, put in park heard the clunking again.

Has 74,000km. I’ve had the car for about 1.5 years. Oil change is due soon. Also got gas couple hours before this happened

Sounds like transmission...  Contact your dealership if it's under warranty.   Get that thing in there.  Get a diagnosis.

Good luck.

Peace.

5 yr 100k powertrain warranty call your local dealership they will tell you to bring it in you can verify with them if you still have the powertrain warranty but i would assume you do
