I saw another user post this same problem. Her post was a year or so ago. I have a 2012 Dodge Journey SXT. I bought it used in the winter of 2016. The following summer my anti skid, service awd, and ABS lights came on. My brakes immediately started acting bad. I am guessing this is the antilock brakes not knowing what was happening and trying to compensate as if I was skidding. There were pulsing and almost sounded like they were grinding. Then when trying to take off from a stop you could press the gas and nothing more than an idle. Then for no reason the gas would kick back in and off like a rocket you go. This only happens when the weather gets warm. From roughly October to April all is normal. As soon as it gets above 75 it starts happening. Only every once in a while at first but as the temps rise it happens more often. When I put a code reader on it, I get nothing.

In any event, the only way to truly identify the problem is to have the codes checked.  Some auto parts stores will do a diagnostic check for free.  Call around.  This won't fix your problem, but at least it will give you some peace of mind knowing what is wrong.  This is not something you will likely be able to fix yourself.  If you can't get anyone to diagnose the problem, it is time to visit your friendly neighbourhood Dodge dealer.

I don’t think it is broken wires or a pump or module issue. If it were any of those things it would happen intermittently or constantly throughout the year. This is very temperature related. This will our third summer that it has happened. It only does it when temperatures get up to 75 or so. As soon as temps drop below that, all lights go away and vehicle works normally. During the spring and fall it may be fine on cool mornings, but as soon as temps warm up that day, out come the problems.  What is most puzzling is why it affects the throttle and only some of the times. When that gets affected, you can push the pedal to the floor and it does nothing. Put it into neutral and you can usually get get it to rev up, put it back into drive and sometimes it will take off...sometimes you just have to move along at an idle until it wants to kick in. That usually takes 20-45 seconds.  I have an issue with paying a dealership $90 per hour to try to decide what is wrong.  The auto parts store has put their diagnostic on it. They got nothing.

actually i just had a abs light on and traction control light, the part stores can only check the check engine light i tried 3 different part stores they say the abs system are different  software due to the car manufacturers engineering. mine ended up being the right front wheel speed sensor, cost was $69 for the part and the dodge dealership to install it. great price
