  1. My Dodge Nitro and my DJ actuator motors can/could be heard whirring even after they sat/sit for a while.  The gears on the actuators that open and close the doors which direct the air flow are made of plastic.  So, your gears may be misaligned or broken/worn on at least one of the doors.

  2. I have the Mopar hitch as does Journeyman425.  Mine is identical to his, and he has a picture of his on the forum.  All of the DJs that I have seen with a hitch look like mine; the hitch bars are very visible.  I think that they are designed this way because of the position of the spare tire.  A little more room may have allowed for a "Hidden Hitch" where only the receiver is visible.

The Trailer Tow Group only adds the engine oil cooler and a harness thrown into the back of the car.  Look under your car and see if you have a harness with a bluish end, terminating between the back of the spare tire and the valence panel.  The harness that the factory throws into the back of the car plugs into this bluish plug.  For some reason my 3.6 came with the engine oil cooler and the harness which terminates behind the spare tire.  I did not have the other harness with all of the relays hooked to it thrown into the back of the car.  So, my window sticker did not show Trailer Tow Group.  I found the harness and hitch on ebay, so now I basically have the Factory Trailer Tow Group.  Journeyman425 added the TTG Sales Code for me.  All my Dealer had to do was to install the harness with all the relays, the hitch, and active the Sales Code.

  3. Since you are adding coolant to the overflow tank, and it is not returning as it should; and, you mentioned overheating, you may have blown a head gasket.  The coolant will be burned in the combustion chamber, and go out the exhaust pipe.  If this is what is happening, you will never see a leak.  I'd get a compression check on both cylinder heads.  You have 24 valves, but only SOHC.  Odd duck as most multi-valve engines are DOHC.  Depending on how bad the gasket is blown, you may notice a decrease in power.  Using the AC will make the engine work harder; therefore, more coolant will be lost through the head gasket.  Depending on where it is blown, and on what side of the cylinder head, this problem could remain "as is" or slowly get worse.

  4. FYI  If you compare the Crossroad Hyperblack Rims with all the other 19" DJ Rims, there is a slightly deeper dish.  This would push the tire out from the center of the rim.  This still does not explain the rubbing on the caliper, unless the Crossroad gets a different set of front calipers, which would seem unlikely to me.  Do you have the big or small calipers?  I do not know what year that the DJ went to the bigger calipers.  Are the 2012 rims you have still offered on the new DJs or were they replaced with something else?
