    2011 Journey

Sounds like you were impressed! I hope it gets a good look by those who write car reviews. I found out a couple of new colors are available too.
  2. How big an incline are you talking about? If it is icy, then be careful revving it up. Snow tires wouldn't hurt but might not do the trick alone. Good luck.
  3. Sounds like you've had more than your share of Journey problems. How many kilometers are showing?
  4. Check out this site for further interior pics of the 2011 Journey: http://www.cartomotive.com/2011-dodge-journey/
  5. Here are a couple of pics of the 2011 journey.
  6. That looks like a winner! I hope some of those auto reviewers who seemed to give my 2009 Journey negative comments really take a look at the 2011 and give it fair comparison in terms of what you get for the money you put out. (Of course, I hope Dodge doesn't up the price too much.)
  7. With two Journeys, you will be able to compare the maintenance record of one with the other. That would be great. When I was looking around for a car, it was my wife who kept the Journey in mind after we had driven it. It just seemed to be the best we tried out and the extra storage places really sold us. We have over 70,000 kms on it and it has served us well to date.
  8. I was wondering how your wife likes her R/T ... did she really want one when you bought the two?
  9. From what I read, the 2011 Journey is going to be a nice update, especially of the engine. I have a 2009 and I really can't complain about the power of the V6 engine. Previously, I drove a 2000 Dodge Caravan with around 173 HP ... V6 ... so when I got the Journey with a 235 HP V6, it was like I got a big power boost. When I am on the highway, I can pass any vehicle I want to pass without any problems. I usually drive around 70 mph or 119 kph and it seems to be a good speed for the traffic I encounter. I haven't seen a 2011 yet but they should be out soon.
  10. I brought my Journey to the local Dodge dealer a month ago and got the car undercoated. I am not sure what they use for this. Technically, the clear coat and the undercoating is all under warranty buy my Journey is now going on three years old so I put on a couple of good coats of wax and got the undercoating done. I think it was just so I had peace of mind. The undercoating cost $100 plus tax and they told me it should be done on a yearly basis.
  11. It looks like they took the Dodge Ram symbol off the front of the cross hairs. They are now referring to the Dodge trucks as Ram trucks and not Dodge Ram trucks, so I understand. I would guess that is why there is no more ram symbol on the Journey. I wonder if it is on the back door.
  12. How do you do that? Put the shift down where the +/- signs are?
  13. I was talking to the maintenance supervisor at my Dodge dealer yesterday and he said he thought it should be coming out sometime in December. I noticed they still had a lot of 2010's on their car lot however. I read a lot of reports that come directly from Chrysler but I haven't come across a release date yet.
  14. I am wondering if anyone has heard when the new 2011 will be on the dealers car lots. It is supposed to have a new V6 engine with another 50 horsepower and better gas mileage. Also the interior is being re-designed and improvements are being made to the suspension or something like that. But when is it coming out. We are already in November and I haven't seen or heard about a release date.

    VIN numbers

Thank you for this. It answers my question and now I know!
  16. I am in the 3rd year with my 2009 Journey SXT. Got around 36,000 miles on it. I am satisfied with its overall performance so far. I would trade for a 2011 when it comes out if I had the bucks.
  17. I think that should be under warranty. Maybe if you are the second owner, the warranty changes? I am not sure but the dealer might be better able to handle this repair job.
  18. Hi. Welcome to the Dodge Journey hangout. This is a good place to be checking for updated info and tips on using your Journey. Every time I come back here, I usually learn something from someone. Good luck with your van.
  19. i am getting a funny noise at times when I am making a left turn. I know this has been talked about somewhere on this forum but I can't find the discussion on it. To me it sounds like a noise when you bounce a car on one wheel to check the shocks (springs?? suspension??) Whatever, it is only a rubbing type of noise for a second or two but it is bothering me when I make a left turn. It doesn't happen every time. I took the van to my dealer and they thought they had fixed it but it is still there. Does anyone remember where the discussion on this left turn problem is on the forum or does anyone remember how it was to be fixed.

    VIN numbers

I take quite a few pictures of cars and trucks. Someone told me you can always tell the year of the vehicle from the VIN number tag on the top of the dash near the front windshield. I have looked at some of these but I can't figure out how they tell the year. Is there a way to do it that would work for all vehicles or does every manufacturer have their own method of reading these tags? How do you read the year on the VIN number?
  21. So does anyone know whether the 3rd row seat can be removed? And how big a job is it to get it out?
  22. Have you removed your exhaust tips? I can't see them in the photo.
  23. That really makes for a clear appearance. I like the look of the back end without all the lettering. Nice work.
  24. There might be a difference too depending on the size of your engine. The 3.5 will go up hills a bit better than the 2.4.
  25. Welcome Alejandro ... when you have time, take a look at some of the posts on the forum. There is usually some good information you might want to keep in mind. I find someone always has an answer to your questions.
