  1. hmmmm....same issue here. Installed a new battery so thats not likely to be it. I'm getting 140 milliamps draw which kills the battery charge, albiet slowly. I also lost BT and I thought replacing that module would fix the BT as well as the parasitic draw. I did get BT back, but still have 140 mA draw when off. I disconnected the negative battery cable from the ground post on the vehicle, put my meter in series between the battery cable and ground post on the vehicle, removed all fuses in both locations (1 at a time), but did not change the 140 mA draw Things that had happened prior to this issue, in case something might be related........ -replaced the passenger side speed sensor at the wheel -went into limp mode after putting on the temporary use spare (passenger side rear axle) and then pressing the ESC OFF button on the dash, thinking that would turn the ESC system off since the diameters of the rear wheels were obviously way different. Realized pressing the ESC OFF button seems to actually turn it on, because the car went into limp mode (still not sure I understand that button) -fixed the severed wires leading to the rearview camera -replace 1 bad (?) fuel injector and spark plug (misfire on middle cylinder closest to firewall) - also ran some magic fluid (lucas?) into gas tank -oil change, new oil in rear diff, new cabin air filter Any ideas what else to check? tia
  2. And of course it turned out to be the wires going into the vehicle from the hatch. Clean cut thru all 3 - camera signal, camera return and bare wire. Fixed and enjoying seeing backwards again
  3. I learned about a 'transmission range sensor' on the auto tranny that sends a signal to the PCM about what gear has been selected and then decides if power is sent to the camera (only if reverse has been selected). Tomorrow I will check the connection, else I will try another new camera I guess.
  4. 2015 journey R/T. Like many, camera started showing horizontal lines, then went back to being ok, and finally crapped out completely. Installed a new camera unit but didn't fix anything. I do get power at the pink n yellow IGN R or "run relay control" pin #2 whether in reverse or not so power is going thru the fuse ok. The ground (both pins 5 and 6) are good grounds. What voltage should i get on the "camera signal" dk grn/brn pin 4 and the "camera rtn" dk grn/ org pin 3? And which of these is activated when i shift into reverse? What sensor indicates 'vehicle is in reverse' and results in power going to camera signal (or is it camera return?). TIA
  5. I have found the culprit rocker arm that is 'ticking'. It's the closest one to the timing chain side, rear bank, inside row. I'm getting ready to loosen the cam bolts and my question is wether I have to loosen them in a certain order, and retighten in a certain order after slipping in the new rocker? tia
  6. They feel very secure cornering, and are much more quiet than oem. Ride is nice
  7. I'm not at all concerned with the speedometer accuracy, sorry.
  8. 2016 R/T AWD Installed cooper discoverer SRX in size 245 x 55 x 19. They justttttttt fit. Closest fit is on top of the front tire, where the tread is 3/16" below the spring support on the strut. See pic About .9" wider and 1.1" taller than stock 225 x 55 x 19 Kumho (which are dead after only 36k miles!)
  9. Sending a PM to discuss implementing the fix you have well, the PM didn't go, so here's a cut/paste Good morning, been waiting for 3 weeks for dealer to get replacement radio unit, that I have little confidence will fix my 'cant load maps' issue anyway. My email is davehansen459@gmail.com, my unit has the versions you mention are required, can you let me know what I need to do to apply your fix? thanks in advance dave hansen davehansen459@gmail.com
  10. 2015 R/T. Nav has been working great until last week. I see R65 was performed on my vehicle last Jan 2016 even tho I was not having nav issues back then. The dealer must have seen my vehicle was included and performed it - kudos for that.. And yet the 'can't unlock maps' error happened last week. At the dealer now to fix. So if I'm understanding this thread, a map reload should bring me back to normal operation, and is preferred over a radio swap which may get me an old radio running older firmware than what I have now. So if they do reload maps (not convinced they will) this could happen again, since R65 has been done last Jan. Does this sound right?
  11. Success! DRL's work as long as the vehicle is in gear and the parking brake is NOT set. Works if light switch is either in 'off' or 'auto' setting.
  12. I have a 2015 R/T and am at the dealer now to reconfigure. Once that is done, do I leave my light switch on 'auto' for drl in the daytime, or?
  13. I paid $25 each for my HIR 9012's. Yes a slight bit of trimming was required. Nothing a good pair of tin snips couldn't handle. I have now driven in the dark. The improvement is very nice. Very nice indeed. Well worth only $50 total and a few minutes of my time.
  14. Just swapped in the 9012 bulbs for lo beams. Right side is new, left side is OEM. Against the garage wall there seems to be a bunch more light being thrown out. Will have to see driving in the real world at dark time for true test tho.
  15. Purchased a used vertical mount receiver hitch, should be here next week. I will post progress of mounting on my 2015 R/T.
