Just to be correct, it should perhaps be noted that Nokia owns Navteq, not Garmin, and that Garmin is a publicly traded company owned by . . . whomever.
As to why they charge for in-dash navigator map updates? Simple: The owners are a captive market - they have no options and, the reality is that Chrysler COULD have negotiated lifetime map updates for owners, but they want to keep their costs as low as possible - that's also why there are no tire warranties and why battery warranties are limited - they'd need to pay for them.

I believe that is the charging/storage spot for the utility flashlight that originally came with the vehicle.

It's actually black leather. And that is the only picture in the group taken with my digital camera and not the iPhone.

I just put 58.2 litres of gas for 430 km's since last fuel up. 13.5L/100 km or 17.4 mpg (U.S) 95% city driving. I only have a total of 2206 km's since December when we got it. Didn't buy it for the gas mileage but for the size of the vehicle, I'm impressed. We're planning a major road trip later this spring through U.S and Canada and I expect it will only improve.

I agree 15 minutes of iding will make a huge difference to any gas mileage calculations. Chris, PM me with an email address and your dealer and I will copy you in my email to my dealer. Have you talked to your dealer? If so what did they say? This may sound stupid but are you running too rich? say a choke staying on too long? Maybe DodgeCACares can help you out. I hate to say it but maybe you have to take it out on the highway down to say Kenaston and back.
Don't forget to PM me an email address.

I live just south of you in Regina, I would have a talk with your dealership as your mileage is much to high. Although this time of year and winter on the prairies is not kind to gas mileage. Right now I am only getting 18.5 liters/100 kms. with all the idling and "warming" up I seem to do. Since I bought the car in August 2010, I have used 85 fillups and averaged 15.7 liters/100 kms., this is still somewhat high but shows what the Journey is capable of.
If you click the My Fuelly logo below it will show everything. Interestly enough in October using higher octane fuel I drove up to Saskatoon and back and I got 9.3 liters/100 kms.
Getting back to your post, I would have a talk with your dealership about you poor gas mileage.

If you took possession of your Journey after the recall dates then chances are your vehicle has been updated and you don't have to worry.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know how much a replacement key blade (the one that fits inside the fob) is for the 2011-12? I had the factory remote start installed after we purchased the Journey, so now I have 4 working fobs, 2 with remote start, 2 without. But I only have 2 key blades, and it would be nice to have 4 complete fobs.

Hi, we live in Australia and are taking delivery of our 2010 plated Journey R/T next week, we have three small children and have bought this car because three child seats fit easily in the 2nd row. We also tried it with two child seats in the 2nd row with an adult, siting in between them, my wife was comfortably able to fit in the middle between the two child seats. Granted she is only 5 foot 3. Hope this helps

hate to say this, but i managed before it went back (AGAIN) a staggeringly good 52.8MPG ... but that is from a UK spec'd CRD SXT DIESEL , and at a steady 50MPH over many miles on one trip!!

Just installed a new set and see what you mean about the rears...they simply do not go all the way up into the channel. I removed them and will call customer support tomorrow. I think they are too long and need to be trimmed, but don't want to mess with that until I talk to the company. Custom fit? The fronts were effortless and seemed to fit perfectly. They look so much better than the type that stick to the outside.
