I would suspect you either have a loose suspension part, and/or an alignment issue.
-
Yeah my 12 is the same way, it sucks. Doesn't look like there is much that can be done
-
Normal to get a few noises when it gets this cold. Probably either air purging through the oil filter(drains down if sits), or the power steering pump making a noise on first start. Nothing to worry about.
-
Have a changed a few, wouldn't say its common
-
There must be something wrong with it, it should engage the back wheels very quick. Clutch is probably burnt out in back diff, if you don't have any warning lights on.
-
We have changed a few clutch assy. on the rear diff on these for no AWD. That said, are you guys using snow tires on these? If your trying to run the 19s in the winter, it ain't gonna work. If its always engaging the rear clutch , if the tires are slipping, its gradually going to trip the light. These are AWD, NOT 4WD.....The rear wheels are engaged by a clutch pack assy, that's not meant for continuous duty.
-
Its a simple job, takes less than an hr. Unbolt front housing, and it pulls off. Its dry, not lubed, has the sealed clutch assy in there. Pinion Seal then just comes out, and you don't touch preload, as the pinion is splined, not flanged.

Nice write up!! I will say, don't be to quick to upgrade the OE bigger pads and rotors to "better" aftermarket. The big OE stuff, does not dust hardly at all, and wears very very well.
-
But guess what????..........its just a reboxed POS aftermarket style that hangs way out. No more tucked up style in the bumper. Only took just over a year to get too!!

Did you upgrade to the bigger brake kits? If by chance the dealer is willing to replace the brakes, would there be any chance to request the 2013 kits?
No mine had the bigger brakes. No Chrysler isn't going to put the bigger ones on for you, would be out of your pocket.

Well unfortunately I became another victim of the leaking AWD transaxle (PTO). I purchase my 2010 Dodge Journey last year with only 33,000 miles on it at the time. Little did I know that since my purchase everything that I correlated to a bad tire or something else was all related to this cursed part. It all started with a small vibration in the passenger front tire. Then we noticed every once in a while a burnt smell. The vibration only became much worse along with the burnt smell. It finally all ended when driving my family home from church one night we felt a sudden large jerk and then our car filled with smoke and a nasty jerking started along with what sounded to be a flapping noise
So......you buy a 3 yr old used car, last year. Notice a vibration, and a BURNING smell, and don't think, gee, maybe lets get this looked at?????? Who sevices the car, they don't notice an oil leak from it???
. Thankfully we were pulling in the driveway when this happened. I got out and checked to make sure it wasn't once of the tires which it wasn't. After going inside to get a flashlight I looked underneath it only to discover an oil leak. I took the car to the garage to have it checked which I barely made it to the garage due to the jerking. They then told me THE DEATH SENTENCE it was not good and we needed to tow the vehicle into a certified dealership to have them look at it. Upon arriving in the new dealership they gave me the bad news of the transaxle (pto) unit was completely broken along with a seal that was causing the leak of oil. They told me not to worry it would be a quick fix and we would have a rental for the time it was in the garage. After 5 days in the garage my rental car was taken away and I was not offered another one due to the uncertainty of when the part would come in. This only complicated matters worse due to this vehicle was my primary mode of transportation for my family of 5. We were then told after 2 more days that there was no estimated time of delivery for the part. I was assigned a case manager with chrysler and was told they would be in touch and help us resolve this situation. This is only a GIMMICK in my opinion.
yep its always a gimmick when someone trys to help
The case worker stated there was a problem with the manufacturer of the parts and chrysler were trying to resolve an issue before the parts would become available. I was told there were over 219 of these on backorder with no estimated time of delivery. Since this time it has been in the garage now almost 4 weeks and still no estimated time of delivery. I had to purchase another vehicle which WAS NOT A CHRYSLER/DODGE nor will any future purchases be also. I believe that if an under warranty part is not available in a timely manner then chrysler/dodge should have to compensate the owner due to there inablility to provide quality service to their customers. Obviously they do not truly care to have returning customers in the future or they would do this. I have people ask me on a daily basis what is the status of my vehicle and when I tell them the situation they also agree to NEVER purchase another chrysler/dodge. I think we should start a facebook page to discuss this problem so that others will not purchase any of these also.

Be aware that slotted and/or drilled rotors are somewhat noisy. And they get REAL noisy, if driven in salty conditions. Akebono make a VERY good ceramic pad, I use them myself.
Bottom line is the smaller Journey/Caravan brakes are just too small. You can use whatever pads/rotors you want, they are too small. There is no "fix". If your that concerned , I would put the newer stuff on, but its gonna be pricey. The bigger brakes work SOOOOO much better, esp, if you are hard on them. Go and test drive a new one, and you'll see what I mean.

How did you guys make out?

Moparman, do you have to pull anything in the engine bay to do the install? Or is there enough room without pulling?
Did you do just the low beams? Or did you also get a 9005 kit for the highs?
Sorry didnt see this till now........only did the lows, can't shut off DRLs, so highs won't work. Lots of room, easiest install I have ever done.

Just the first 2 you listed.

I realise I should have read your location. That's weird because mine shipped to Vancouver, BC and they used FedEx priority which took 2 days only. I didn't have to pay or select any shipping option during checkout.
Yeah its showing $30 shipping for me for some reason.
-
Yeah its 8in......Ive had it out, decent speaker, and box, not sure why it sounds so poor. I'm going to try hooking a differnt box in place of it, and see how it sounds. That will tell me if speaker or amp issue.
-
Yeah still haven't got mine......will be one year in april, wonder if I'll get a aniversary card and flowers???
-
$30 shipping?? I don't think so.
-
I think its a poor system really, very poor bass.

Yes way brighter
Anyway to add a route to the 8.4 nav?
in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.

I'm used to the handheld garmin navs, where you can add a route, instead of just letting it pick it for you. ie a more scenic specific route. Is there any way to load something like that in?
