  1. The service advisor told me it was a recall.........while I was in the waiting room. I guess he don't know the differance then....I notice in your info................it's dated Jan 28 2012.........I was in late Feb/2012 for my first oil change and nothing was said then............How quick does the dealerships get these bullitens??........Thanks...........Caper.........

Usually a couple of weeks before they get to us. If it was a recall. you get a letter in the mail. RRTs they just catch when your in for service

  2. Not a recall, an RRT (Rapid response transmittal) .....dealers are supposed to run the vin any time you in for service, and do any of these that show up. Not a common thing. Good for customer satisfaction. It was PCM flash update for false codes

    Flash: MIL Illumination P0441, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306,

    P0420, P0430, P113D, P113E, P0133, P0153

    OVERVIEW:

This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control

    Module (PCM) with new software.

    MODELS:

    2012 (JC) Journey

    **2012 (JS) 200/Avenger**

NOTE: This bulletin applies to **JC** vehicle equipped with a 3.6L engine (sales

P0441 - Evap Purge System Performance

    b.

    P0420 - Catalyst Efficiency (Bank 1)

    c.

    P0430 - Catalyst Efficiency (Bank2)

    n.

    P113E - O2 Sensor 2/1 Slow Response (High Frequency)

Updating the software will correct the conditions listed above.

    DIAGNOSIS:

Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in

TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTC's other then

the ones listed above are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary

before proceeding further with this bulletin.

If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other

customers that describe the symptom/condition or if the technician finds the DTC, perform

    the Repair Procedure.

    PARTS REQUIRED:

    Qty. Part No. Description

    1 04275086AD Label, Authorized Modification

    REPAIR PROCEDURE:

NOTE: Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2

volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the

    flash process.

NOTE: If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.

    1. Reprogram the PCM with the latest software. Follow the detailed service procedures

available in DealerCONNECT/TechCONNECT, Refer To Group 8 - Electrical >

Electronic Control Modules - Service Information > Module - Powertrain Control >

    Standard Procedures > PCM/ECM Programming.

    2.

After PCM reprogramming, Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other

modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all

DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them

  3. Its an exhaust resonance, when the torque convertor partially locks, mine does it also. Once u get up a few more klicks, it dissappears? I'm betting there will either be a flash to raise shift point a touch, or some kind of damper for the exhaust. We,ve had no complaints about it at work, but have noticed it on mine, and one other 12 I drove for a few days before buying ours.

  4. thanks for the feedback. Did you buy the HIDs on ebay too or local? Easy to install or did you go to a shop? Nice ride btw, love the blacked out grill...I'm in Toronto, so hope to see you around if you're in the GTA

Got the HIDs from these guys http://www.ddmtuning.com/Product-Categories/HID-Kits-Lighting/HID-Kits

Might try these guys next time, supposed to be one of the best out there

    http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=3956

Installed myself, I'm a Tech at a dealer. Not really hard to do though, if your comfortable with a bit of wiring. I'm from Belleville actually :-)

  5. Sorry that was meant for toknow/mwg. People don't seem to get that all oil is NOT the same, just because its the "right" weight. I would say 90% of any oil buring complaints we get(and there isn't that many) all come down to wrong oil/extended intervals. If you use the wrong oil, and then push the oil changes further than your supposed to, your gonna stick the rings, seen it many times.

  6. I wonder if they're changing the design of the OEM hitch. Take a look at this page and scroll down to the picture of the Journey hauling a trailer with a couple of boats on it. The hitch on that Journey is definitely not the vertical type.

    http://www.dodge.com/en/2012/journey/

I had the parts guys look into getting me a hitch from another dealer today. The backorder # had gone from about 2500 , down to a bout 250. And there is also a new part # coming,(shows a supersedance coming), as to what if anything will be different, hard to say.

  7. The chips are junk. The only useful electronic engine tuner is a true handheld tuner like a Diablosport Predator. However, those aren't available for the newer Dodge vehicles.

That being said, we know that Dodge has two tunes for the Pentastar, one with significantly higher horsepower. The Journey tune only makes 283 hp and 260 ft lbs torque... however the same Pentastar in the Challengers makes 305 hp and 268 ft lbs torque. Has to be only software - I seriously doubt there are any physical differences between the two engines. Sure wished I could flash my Journey's PCM with the Challenger tune.

Its not just software, differnt intake and exhaust.

  8. The diesel ones the fiat freemont, (european version of the journey) is sold with. They are made by fiat, not chrysler, but it's not the only manufacturer doing this.

Well I have no idea about the diesels, we can't get them here. But diesel is a whole differnt ballgame than a gas motor. Diesel, add more feul, they make more power , to a point. Not so with gas.

  9. Looks awesome!

    A few questions:

So all of the trimming and modifications needed are only done to the bulb, not the stock harness?

Yes just bulbs, not the factory wiring or fog light housing.

How do you access the fog lights?

Jack it up a bit, and you can reach up in under the front corners.

Could you take a close up of the bulb in the housing with it off? I would like to see how it looks!

yep will do when i get a chance

Did you have to re-aim the headlights or do the HID's not blind people?

yes have to reaim after, I mark wall where stock are, then put HIDs in and aim to old marks. That gets you very close.

  10. The LED fogs I posted about awhile ago showed up

    2208373800033947602S600x600Q85.jpg2910911950033947602S600x600Q85.jpg

Here's who I bought them from

    http://www.ebay.com/...2ee83a7&vxp=mtr

Look like decent quality, guess we'll see how they last. Very close match to 4300k HID headlights I put in. Quite a bit brighter to look at, haven't drove at night yet. You have to trim some little locating tabs on them, as they are not 100% match to OE bulbs, but thats the way it is if you want something bright instead of awful stock ones. Trim 2 spots to fit bulb in housing, and one to fit plug on. Compare to OE and you'll see what I mean. Just use a sharp razor blade. Plug also will not latch on, but does go on and seal correctly, so I just threaded a small stainless screw in , that sits against plug and bulb. I'll update after a night drive. Took pics with 1 new, and one OE so you could see difference. I have tried MANY LED fogs, and these are the only ones I have seen that are this bright, rest are a waste of time.
