  1. Not a ton of miles on my 2011 Lux yet, but so far I'm quite impressed with the quality of ride with the 19's... <shrug>
  2. I'm diggin' those tips...they look great! My 2011 Lux has chrome tips, but those ones look like they stick out just a bit further. Looks good!
  3. I see very few Journey's out on the road, and the ones I do rarely see are usually 09 and 10's. Today, however, I spotted three Journey's, each with manufacturer's plates...parked at a fast food restuarant, of all places! Living in Michigan, I'm used to seeing manufacturer's plates, but this is the first time I've seen them on a Journey! Crappy cell phone pic, but oh well...best I could do!!
  4. Welcome to the forums. I've got a 2011 Lux AWD with the Pentastar and I have no regrets. The Journey replaced a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the V8, and I've gotta say, the Lux is right up there with the power. Much smoother than the Jeep, too. I think it has plenty of power for it's intended use...hauling my kids, wife, and groceries from time to time. I don't intend to tow with it, so that was never much of a concern. Plenty of snow here in Michigan, making AWD a good thing to have.
  5. Huh....that's...interesting! The only thing my black cap says on it is make sure you put it back on tight. I guess it really isn't a big deal to me. There's only one E85 station near me, and the prices probably wouldn't justify it's use anyway. My owner's manual states you can expect a 30% drop in mileage with E85, and it sure isn't 30% cheaper than 87 octane gas around here.
  6. I know the 3.6L V6 is capable of running E85, but is the 2011 Journey set up for it? My gas cap is black, and makes no mention of E85. No Flex Fuel logos or stickers anywhere.
  7. Excellent photos. I have a 2011 Lux with the 8.4 touchscreen system (and a sunroof, too). The rear entertainment package is not available on the 2011's, so I'm looking forward to seeing how others have addressed this issue. The kids would love to have either an overhead screen or screens in the headrests, but I have yet to see anyone tackle this in a 2011. For now, they'll just have to settle with their portable DVD players than can sling over the seats...
  8. My front is different than what is seen on Dodge's website under "Virtual Tour", but is the same as what is seen under "Photos" on their site.
  9. Looks good! Any details on the overhead monitor? Does it have its own DVD player, or is it tied into an existing one? How did you run power, etc...?
  10. No trouble with my alarm, but then again it's a brand new 2011 so maybe it hasn't had enough time yet.
  11. Looking for any information or any other members that have explored mods to the 8.4 inch navigation / display system in the 2011 Journey. The kids would love to be able to watch a DVD whlie the vehicle was in motion...unfortunately the 2011 doesn't have any kind of rear factory DVD players / screens. The only screen is the one in the dash, which will not display a DVD while in motion. Any brilliant minds out there figure a work-around? I've seen this referred to as the "lockpick" in the 2010's...some also call this the "in-motion hack". DVD screens in the headrests would be nice, too. Anybody find some aftermarket ones that would work? I have the moonroof, so a roof mounted option might be difficult. Thanks for any info!
  12. For what it's worth, my 2011 DVD works fine in my computer, soo.... I agree - sounds like a drive issue with your system (especially if the disc works on a different computer).

    New 2011 Lux

Yes - we have the UConnect voice stuff. I tried that out and saying things like "next song" isn't recognized. Maybe we can hope a future update will address this? The buttons on the back side of the wheel work great, though, for cycling through songs.
  14. Just picked up a 2011 Lux...black leather. We love it.

    New 2011 Lux

Wanted to introduce myself to the forum. Use the screen name UPMedic (pronounced "You Pee"...it refers to an area known as the "Upper Peninsula"). Just picked up a new 2011 Lux with all the options. All black. Looking forward to learning more about this vehicle. I've always sought out "the" forum for every car I've owned, and have always found the boards to be an excellent source of information. Cheers.
