  1. UConnect is a collaberation between Chrysler, Panasonic, and Garmin. I was able to find these three names in an online article about UConnect: Allen Kudla, Panasonic’s senior vice president for sales and marketing Marios Zenios, head of Connectivity and Infotainment for Chrysler Group LLC Cliff Pemble, Garmin’s president and chief operating officer Marios Zenios has two contact people listed on his bio page (executive assistants?) Maybe we should email these guys and express our concerns with the UConnect system.
  2. Welcome to the forums and thanks for the pic.
  3. Cool. Keep us updated with pics along the way!
  4. Watching this thread, too. I would be interested in a 2011 Factory Repair Manual (Chrysler used to sell these...) The manual in the link above from the company Service Repair Manuals is for the 2009. Let's hope a 2011 is available soon.
  5. No problems with my 2011 Lux... Just under 3,000 miles on 'er.
  6. Excellent write up. Thanks, and welcome to the forums. Many have described the KPH and MPH problem with the EVIC... Hopefully a simple software update by Dodge can fix it.
  7. Can't say I've done that, but sounds like an interesting project. If you do it, be sure to take lots of pics!
  8. Huh. Strange. Can't say I have any experience with the different systems, though.
  9. drb227, you're right - Pictures don't seem to work (I just put some simple jpegs on the root of my SD card and nothing shows up on the UConnect screen when browsing the card). I'm not sure if I read that once somewhere (thought I did), but oh well, not that big a deal to me anyway. And I'm with you on the non-functioning of the music voice-control. I know we have had other threads about the voice control of the songs, but for our own future reference let me point out: ...which can be found at: the Dodge Journey UConnect page at Dodge.com Have you talked to anyone at Dodge about this? I wonder who we contact so they can start fixing this... For what it's worth, my audio system is supposed to be the "6 Infinity® Premium Speakers with Subwoofer and 368-Watt Amplifier". I agree with drb227 in that the bass doesn't thump terribly hard, but it hits deep and hard enough for me.
  10. Welcome to the forums. No doubt the Journey is popular in Canada. Lots of forum members from "up north"! I'm in Michigan...
  11. Word on the street is that the new fascia is coming with the March production... But you're right - the Dodge website shows two different fascias for 2011 Journey's...
  12. Just to clarify....the dodge.com website shows that the backseat DVD is NOT an option. In 2010 it WAS, but not in 2011. <shrug> Go figure. I found this disappointing as well, but then again my kids have their own portable DVD players and if they really need to see a movie that bad, they can use those.
  13. The music sounds great. Switching from satellite station-to-station is instant - no lag. Switching to media source is instant for that matter, too (USB and SD). It pulls MP3 tag info and displays on the screen. Album art is displayed as well. Browsing songs is easy, and you can do a text search for songs as well. I haven't tried putting pictures on my SD or USB key, but I do remember reading that it is supposed to work. I have not tried an external HD. DVD will play movies - looks and sounds fine. Video disabled after you hit 5 or 10 mph or something like that. Back up camera is awesome - brilliant video quality (even in low light), and it overlays markings to help judge distance. No information about a lockpick available for it (yet), but I am sure keeping my eyes out for one!
  14. Well, you'll have to post if you know of something we need to do on our end. There's no obvious changes to my maps, and nothing to indicate traffic data. I'm assuming traffic data is available for my area, but even browsing the map and zooming in on, say, Detroit, showed no obvious traffic data. Also tried programming a route...no change. No obvious settings to change or "activate" on the GPS settings or the Sirius settings.
  15. It's also possible that it isn't set up to recognize that large of a size. I've read about some systems having maximum amount of gig's they're able to read... <shrug> I have a 1 TB external hard drive that connects via USB and has it's own power supply... Hmmm.... I should try it sometime. Then again, I have the 8.4n, so, not sure if that makes a difference, too.
  16. Sweet! Good job! I'm going to have to go out and check my 8.4n now!
  17. Funny you mention that you had to hit the box a few times...so did I - enough that I thought it was strange! I'm pretty sure I read somewhere, too, that the heated seat (if set to automatically come on), only comes on automatically if the outside temp is below a certain value (don't remember what temp it was...)

    Welcome to the forums!
  19. Interesting to see how many Canadians on the forums! That's great! I'm wondering if the Journey is more popular in Canada than in the States. I see very few Journey's on the road, and my Lux is the only Lux I've ever seen on the road (not sure if the Lux is available in Canada, though). I agree the forums aren't as active as previous forums I've belonged to. But - we can change that ourselves, right? As I mentioned in one of my other posts - I'm thinking the forums will become more popular as the vehicle becomes more popular (at least more popular in the States).
  20. I hoping that as the Journey becomes more popular, so too will the forums.
  21. Sounds pretty cool! I have the 2011 Black Lux, and love the color... Welcome!
  22. I'm not sure if it's something unique to the States (I see you guys are in Canada), but my 2011 Lux has U-Connect and bluetooth. My phone had no problem sync'ing up with the Journey and it works quite well. <shrug> Sooo, it is available from Chrysler, but maybe it's different in the States.
  23. That's a pretty cool (and unique) color! Welcome to the forums.
  24. My 2011 Lux doesn't have that fob. It has the one as described by Swerv.
