  1. Regarding the album art. Your Gracenotes database could be outdated. It also won't always recognize ripped songs from a CD depending on the settings or software you use. Also, not all legit albums get art. I have a British band "Jonah and the Whale" which isn't recognized in any way. All songs named track1 and up.
  2. I also point out that there is the lockout key concealed in the fob. Get that copied and keep it safe. It is for entry on the driver door only if the battery goes dead on the fob, or the car. Both will let you get inside so you can pop open the hood for charging. I belive that the transponder is passive and just needs to be recognized as the right key to start. The fob can be dead but still drive. The remote entry system is what needs the powered fob. It could be a Canadian engineer who thought about the dead battery situation.
  3. In Canada there is about a $2500 profit margin on a R/T. For Feb. the Journey discount is $2000. If the dealer took anything extra off you nearly got the Journey at cost.
  4. In my experience when I am searching for Journeys for customers is, the 5's sell more than the 7's. I find tons of 7's while searching other dealer lots and a medium supply of the 5's. We're in a small town and I found that they sit around for quite a bit. I stopped ordering the 7's as there was so much stock available for transfers. Farmers, for the most part, don't want 3 rows. The extra cost is a factor too.
  5. Don't wait for the appointment time. Go in early and walk around. A salesman will approach you and word will get passed on. As for the wait I pulled my hair out watching some ordered vans sitting on "Ramp Compare" for 2 weeks. Late response here though. Sorry
  6. Those are amazingly short waits!!! Compaire it to a 16 week wait for a diesel truck. One customer of mine didn't get his order taken for 8 weeks. Granted it is a R/T. But ouch. Feb 8th was the cutoff order date for April builds.
  7. This whole experience sounds horrible. I could see it happening when Parts and Receiving gets stuff mixed up (human error), then Service goes to Parts expecting it ready. Finds it isn't there, follows up with Receiving, and then you get the damn stupid phone call. They may have already taken your keys too. Also, I dislike the lug nut locks, that go-faster Nitrogen, or improper splash guards/mud flaps. Undercoat? Sure, just keep it close to the market. The dealership really should have nailed down the towing stuff. It just is soooo... unprofessional?
  8. @bramfrake bramfrake sent me a message and I sent one back. It is relevant to this thread so I thought I'd edit it a little and post here too. 2 posts above I'm asked a question. The Time Referenced Surcharge applies to New Vehicle Plans (Nothing certified used.) $250 will be added for vehicles entering program after 1 year or 20,000 kms. You would skip the charge. Safe with it being only one month old. 7/115 Powertrain (Plan 486) can be bought up to 4 years or 80,000 kms with only the surcharge added. (This is my understanding.) Suggested is $1660 with half of that going to Chrysler. So the dealer can play with $830. Personally it would be the individual customers who we know and service regularly that I would offer serious deals to. I wouldn't charge full price for walk-ins though. How much of 800 would I give away? 20% off? $160. 25% for 200? I think giving away 200 bucks would be my max for regular customers. The 1660 less the 200 doesn't seem much but leaves the dealer making 25% less. That range is where I would offer my regular customers. Maybe 15% to 20% off of the 830 for walk-ins? It just doesn't get the price down with Chrysler forcing so much. The 7/150... is that a typo? 7/160 (Plan 487) costs $2185. 20% on that would be $218 off the price. $1967 for the plan. With Chrysler forcing so much of the cost of the plan to them it isn't really a gravy train for dealerships. It does give options to cement a deal where you could put in the 7/115 into a deal for free. The 800 could easily be recovered in some sort of dealership performance reward for boosting those sales. Personally I think increasing power train warranty is a prudent idea. The bumper to bumper for the electronics and A/C and such. Well... those you can keep an eye on until the 20K mark. I HIGHLY recommend it if you are buying a truck. I EXTRA HIGHLY recommend it if you drive your Journey like a truck. Cheers!
  9. You have it already but I was musing that perhaps it was the 3 piece folding storage cover for the rear. THAT I can see not lying around. If back-ordered sure, close to a month might be about right. They should have just robbed another Journey.
  10. There was a complaint company hired at some point about 1.5 years ago. They are impartial and follow a decision tree based on answers, following up concerns with more questions about this and that. All the stats per dealer are anonamized. Some customers will be asked for permission to record responses to give back to dealerships to hear and respond to better the shopping experience. It was interesting to get to hear real emotion in people voices about how a In all, customers liked it that it just wasn't hitting check boxes, but you actually got to voice concerns that are important, to a person. Also the system was used to capture happy customers and how it could be better still. I'm not sure if this is used much by the dealers. There were access fees. If you didn't get to put all your concerns into the survey be sure to call the customer relations line if you are really wronged. Call in to start a file on your VIN. I've heard of folks receiving coupons in the mail for some sort of service at any dealership. Also heard of many who got squat. A not well known thing is that it is the customers responsibility to call in to start a file for your VIN for dealerships to look up to get approval for a designated rental company. Call first before you rent. There is no warranty coverage to pay for that if you get the rental yourself. Sucks. SOOOOO hard to get approval to pay the rental fee's if protocol isn't followed.

  12. I know there is a separate Uconnect Mopar unit for some of the radios but I don't know if it'll work with the new radios. I think its about $400 CDN. Not for all models either.
  13. Have them on my 09. It is a option. 2nd row boosters code CFL for $200. Code AGV Flex seating group $1375. They work well.
  14. When locking in personal factory orders you receive price protection and the option to take the incentives at the month you order, or the month it is delivered. Order if you can for the chance of model change discounts. Ie. a late availability option might be added to a group you selected at no extra cost. That or consumer cash discounts change and has saved $2500 for 3 customers of mine who ordered trucks. Also, get a fleet account if you usually pay cash for your vehicle, if you can. The fleet discounts are always at least $500 better than the public offering. Or way more on some models. I only have the fleet discount rates for April but they are $1000 better than public programs on the Journey.
  15. I'd get in touch right away about that. Go in and make it clear that it is contractual and ask them to check on the separate build possibility. It will help the dispute explosion in some way. I would hope.
  16. During ordering for one of our 2011's, at the time of order I selected an option "RB5 Uconnect Touch 8.4N CD/DVD/MP3/NAV" for $750. On my factory order sheet that is created when ordering. After the VIN is created the factory invoice shows up around the time the vehicle starts coming together. Ordered Dec. 30, 2010. Invoiced at March 2, 2011. Car not here yet. I get my factory invoice. No longer calling it a Uconnect Touch but now just called Garmin Navigation Radio. But it is still referred to as RB5 Unconnect Touch in the Options Report. The latest code guide (build instructions for all models) was reissued on 04/05/11 and has many many details stripped out. Checking my code guide issued 12/14/10 shows the RB5 as the radio but RSP Uconnect Voice Command W/ Bluetooth WAS a selectable option for $300. No memory if it was actually on the order software page. Using such similar names certainly has caused issues. I've been searching for where I saw it but I remember reading about if you ordered Uconnect Bluetooth with Uconnect Touch you lose the remote USB port or something like that. Wanting not to lose anything, maybe this is where a little of the issue is. Poorly worded memos. So this leads me to believe I ordered an R/T in the same manner as your dealership. I've been trying to put that Bluetooth feature in every vehicle we order, along with remote start, but these things slip through. It happens every year albeit different models or reasons. Then finally the vehicle is here and we learn a lesson and try to learn that lesson for the next round of ordering. But I've been taught this lesson on the trucks with their 130 radio that has a Uconnect button on it but has no Uconnect. It just flashes -not installed- or a variant of that. Remote starts can change from standard back and forth as the years change too. To sum up on the R/T, I think the Uconnect Touch looked like it should have Uconnect w/ Bluetooth. But you either took it together (which will commonly turn off a selected option if it is covered in a group package.) I would make an assumption that the Uconnect Bluetooth would be the one to select if I didn't want the 8.4inch screen. But I wanted both so I check the Uconnect Touch box and look where we are. Uconnect Bluetooth was also included in a group called Convenience Group 1 but that was only available on the lower trim. The R/T only had Driver Convenience Group for the backup cam and sensors. So you would need to select both Uconnect features to get what we really wanted, but only on the R/T. The SXT's were more clear. Arg! Now to wait on the 12's.
  17. You are exactly why I had to jump into the discussion! My V6 results is something I'll test again and again. It could be wildly incorrect. My limited test started with a running start reset at 110KM/h which will drastically skew my results compared to your better design true efficiency test. This was also done twice from Edmonton to Grande Prairie so quality of gas and rising or dropping altitude probably was a factor as well. Well, not probably, certainly. So, is this a valid test to find the running at speed mileage, versus the mileage a tank of gas gets you? Its like the claim about the Grand Cherokee and it's 1000km one tank ability. Dubious. A question though. If your tallies are lifetime how do you figure cold idle and other winter problems where the car is running but not traveling? Makes it very hard to guess efficiency during the winter. But certainly insures a rating in the high 9's. So remember folks, the rating on the window sticker for mileage isn't a report of real life costs. It is just a number value used to compare vehicles against each other. A rating given by a standardized test for customer comparison between brands and models.
  18. What I've heard on the Canadian side is that the software for ordering will be turned off on May 2nd. The build guides have been modified to show that AWD isn't available in the 11's, but some did get built before the supply issues. I was shocked at the disappearance of models and options in the order software and code guides. The 8.2Uconnect or whatever radio was quickly restricted. Multiple paint colours have delays as well. I think that is common knowledge by now. I'm a 2009 Journey owner but must confess that I work at a dealership. My ownership is why I'm here guys I originally was seeking info about how much of the ESP system you can actually turn off. Didn't get the answers I wanted but its fun here. I'm going to be the one who'll order the 12's, and *I'm* confused what happened to the 11's. Its all very strange at times. What I can think of is that the websites and dealer software are semi linked as the site can deliver window stickers of dealer stock. As orders are filled for the next months production equipment may run out and orders after that point have to be modified or the order is stalled until the part returns as available. Then all the check boxes for the options come back, probably like the website. Maybe? Heh. So I'm just waiting for the rest of my 11 orders to be built, or mostly just delivered. Rail delays from Mexico, trucking contract killed, part and paint restrictions... Just stress stress stress! No control over that stuff and it royally sucks. I haven't looked recently but allpar.com is a better source of info than our actual Chrysler regional dealer rep. Even they say so. <_<
  19. Don't ya know? A Mopar Chrome Exhaust Tip adds 5HP?
  20. I had to jump in here because of the mileage. My '09 V6 should be the same as peoples '10 V6, right? I did multiple tests at 58K km's in normal spring driving at 110KM / hour. Got 8.2L / 100 km's. About 34 miles per imperial gallon. 28.5 miles per US gallons. I have noticed how people think the gas pedal is soft. Its all electronic. No direct connection. Lets them monitor how fast you slap down the to affect the ESP. They also monitor how quick you press on the brake. Isn't it called progressive braking? You keep sinking deeper towards the floor the more it magnifies the brake pressure. Smash it to the floor, it'll magnify the action 125%? Makes me wonder if it is connected to the early wear on brakes as a contributing factor with those issues. But it is was that then the after market brakes shouldn't fix the problem. Soft pads in the end. But the braking and that hill-assist really are different. This winter I learned just how well the traction control works. I COULD NOT spin out. I tried. Oh I tried I did have to turn off the ESP so I could spin my tires on purpose on the packed snow. It would rob power and pretty much let me limp around, pulling power due to slipping. One thing though. I think the Journey is great, but that TIP start. Maybe its only on a 2009 but the remote start was useless after -30C (it went that and lower for half a week. Welcome to Alberta) The TIP would engage the starter, vroom for a second, then it seemed to pull all throttle power going to a low idle. Instant stall. Try to start it 3 times and it makes you finally go out and manually start it on the 4th try. Remote Start restriction I suppose. Once started and it goes vroom I had to pump the accelerator to see if it'll get the fuel pump going. No direct link to the gas so it seemed to try but just repeated its stalling action. Once stalled and the light and dash flash and go dark and flash while trying to start, I lost my radio station favs. I'm going to have a garage by the end of the summer so I'm hoping things will change. I'm still happy with the mileage though.
  21. Nice, hope it works out. Too bad they removed the old AWD SXT model.
  22. It is a quasi personal question so I understand being hesitant to just throw up any details about yourself onto the i-net. Burn is correct. Most of the information in a VIN is about the country or origin, build factory, car type, brand, model, year and serial for that line. Nothing personal in those details except that it is registered / insured to your name. What I am looking for is what model number (JCDH49 or JCDP49) and the trim package (22F or 28K). It will clear up if it is a name-changed with a package that made it a -Plus- model, or the straight up value version. Knowing those I can compare base prices and make a guess how close to cost you were. Up here in Canada, the 2010 Journeys a JCDH49 (22F) Value Package MSRP would be around $21,570 with a wholesale cost of $20690. Yep. A whole $880 window of discounts that a dealership can give before it is below cost. Current incentives are about -$2250 for the value version, and -$3000 with no-charge DVD ($1022. $500 to $750 credit if no DVD) Even with full MSRP $21570 - $2250 = $19320. $19320 - $18995 = $325 "under cost" In that aspect, you did good. +1 for you. Didn't get a discount on the warranty though, it looks like. On the other hand, they could be splitting the Hold Back with you (An amount that is at the discretion of the dealer. Used in certain ways between dealer transfers or a little safety net. It disappears if it is a fleet deal) and also relying on a VPA (volume performance) target being met and the unit returning an extra $400 or up to $1500 per sale. Hold Back is $600 for the Journey. Most other models is $700. It doesn't necessarily mean that the best deals are at the end of the month. Now shop on the 10th - 14th THEN near the end of the month. Early VPA bonus programs are common now, where the sale of the car before the 15th could double the VPA payout. A few sales at cost to nail the target before the 15th will return extra from every unit sold up until then. See what I mean? Hope to be in that situation when buying. The extended warranty package you got sounds like the 415 Gold package. MSRP for a 2wd is $1450 CDN plus surcharges (none on your car I think) and taxes. Is the $240 an admin fee? Ask clearly what it is for. Refusing to pay and making a scene just might make the charge shift to something else, or just to the detriment of the sale. (Such as if there was fuel in the tank, but not filled to the top. The profit of $880 can get chewed up pretty fast and the use of the admin fee covers misc. expenses that might not apply to all the vehicles on the lot, but like the Destination Fee it is used to blanket a range of expenses.) Sorry for the dealer-speak. Use of these codes and such are required and changes are made every year. To a customer this is exactly why you posted in the first place, eh? Even better(worse) now that Dodge is switching around terms like SE, SE-Plus, SXT, R/T, and replacing them with Cruise, Express, Citadel (I can't wait! Durango!) and others. Later!
  23. Hi, just registered so I can help out with questions exactly like this. One of two option groups need to be on the car to get UConnect on a R/T. Copied from the Journey Code Guide. The Convenience Group 2 (About $450 CDN) has... ADJUSTABLE ROOF RAIL CROSSBARS CARGO COMPARTMENT COVER DRIVER & PASSENGER LOWER LED LAMPS IPODĀ® CONTROL RR VIEW AUTO DIM MIRROR W/MICROPHONE UCONNECT PHONE WITH VOICE COMMAND. or Navigation and Sound Group 1. (About $1800 CDN) has... MEDIA CTR 830N 6CD/DVD/HDD/NAV RADIO (Note: 830N is a new one to me! Was always called a 730N(av) but Garmin is coming into the 11's late introduction. So maybe that is why. Why it is in the 2010 Code Guide, I haven't any idea.) PARKVIEW REAR BACK-UP CAMERA RR VIEW AUTO DIM MIRROR W/MICROPHONE SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO UCONNECT PHONE WITH VOICE COMMAND The lower trim models can add the UConnect as a single option ($350 CDN). The R/T must get it as part of a large package only. Radio configuration issue I suppose. Hope this helped!
