  1. larryl........Just finished installing the new wire harness and the hitch that I dropped off of my '09 DJ. Bolted up on my new 2013 DJ Crew perfectly with no issues. Toughest part was dropping the exhaust system as I knew it would be. No issues with wire harness. plugged the trailer in and all lights worked as they should. No need to have dealer flash it as I understand some had to do.
  2. Welcome to the forum. No plans for any travel this weekend. I will just be crawling under the DJ installing the trailer hitch and wiring. Wife will be going to the west coast early April so will get a good run and see what it will do for fuel economy.
  3. According to the listing at Hitch Depot USA it is the same part number for all years. Will definitely know this weekend when I install it.
  4. And the hitch I had on my '09 I removed and will reinstall it on my new '13 Crew this weekend.
  5. I guess I will find out this weekend. I will be installing the wiring and hitch this weekend. Spoke with the tech at the hitch shop and so far has not had to do a flash on any Journey and they have done several. Fingers crossed. :shades:
  6. Hidden Hitch is a good hitch. I went with a Curt Hitch (#13335) from Hitch Depot USA. I notice the Hidden Hitch is mounted with 4 bolts. The Curt Hitch is mounted in 6 places. May be worth the consideration of the extra 2 bolts. Installation was easy. Hardest part was getting at and releasing the rubber muffler hangers to drop the exhaust. Fit and alignment was perfect. Cost was reasonable and very quick delivery. And for us Canadians, free delivery out of Toronto so no customs broker fees. Just my 2 bits worth. Won't go wrong either way.
  7. I can't speak on the 2013 as we have only had ours for about 3 weeks now but our 2009 SXT that we traded did not leak till we had a plugged drain line. Then it just flooded in when we went through a touchless car wash. I would not let it go. It should not leak! Especially being a new vehicle. I have had several vehicles with factory sunroofs and none of them leaked unless there was a problem. Usually plugged drain line.
  8. Welcome Mopar2u. I am sure you will enjoy your DJ. Any questions just ask. I am sure someone will point you in the right direction.
  9. Welcome Mr. BrettS. Look forward to your input on issues. You have big boots to fill after DennyB. All the best in your new endeavors DennyB.
  10. I understand what you are saying. Alberta is also a big truck area. Almost seems it has to be diesel 4X4 or nothing. :dreamy: Must be all the farmers, ranchers and oil rig people.
  11. Considering Canada has about 1/10 of the population of the USA that is more or less what I suspected.
  12. Looks good........We just traded our 2009 SXT for a 2013 Crew in Storm Grey. So far love it and very noticeable increase in power. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new Journey.
  13. Judging from the feedback on this thread it seems that Canada has a disproportionate number of Journeys on the road. Every time I turn around I see Journeys on the streets. Friends of ours in Idaho don't even know what a Journey is. We could not even show them ours as we rode our motorcycle down. We looked for one while we were down there but did not see any. Also it seems that there are a lot of Canadians on this forum. Maybe the administrators could give us a count of how many Americans versus Canadians. Would be interesting.
  14. Dave Until you get the chance to replace the sensor just cover the warning light with a small piece of black electrical tape. That is what I do when I change over to my winter tires and rims. No more problem with the distracting light.
  15. Nice day today in Lethbridge. Rode motorcycle to work this morning. +15 C (59 F) but windy. Back to mixed rain and snow Thursday and Friday.
  16. Enjoy biohazard.........I found it surprising that our 2013 did not have a hard drive. We did the same thing and got an SD card to load music. We have had our new DJ Crew for 2 weeks now and wife really is enjoying it. Lots of improvements over our old 2009 DJ SXT. I have only been able to sneak it out a couple of times so far when she was not looking but I am enjoying the brief opportunities to drive it. She does let me work on it though. So far have installed a hood deflector and splash guards. This weekend if the weather cooperates will install the trailer wiring and hitch. Then I guess I will find out if I need to get it flashed to get the trailer lights to work.
  17. Welcome to the forum Mrmagoo. I am from Alberta as well, Lethbridge. What part are you from. I am sure you will enjoy your new Journey. We are on our second one. Just traded our 2009 SXT for a 2013 Crew.

    On the edge

I have to agree with tstone. We just traded our 2009 DJ SXT for a 2013 DJ Crew and the differences between them are worth considering. Significant changes from 20010 to 20011 well worth looking at.
  19. We just traded our 2009 DJ SXT on a 2013 DJ Crew. Our main selling feature was the seat. My wife has arthritis and can't sit for long in most vehicles. When looking for both of these vehicles my wife spent a lot of time trying everything out there. Had to be the right height to get in and out. Needed adjustable lumbar support and with her very long legs and short torso she had to still be able to see over the dash. Found out that was a very tall order but at the end of the process the Dodge journey was the only vehicle without spending $50,000 that she could sit in for more than half an hour. Seems rather silly to have to go out and find a seat and then see what vehicle was wrapped around the seat, but that is pretty much what we did. The 2009 was good and so far only having the new DJ for 6 days it seems to be even better than the old one. Still trying to learn all the new systems on it. :dreamy:
  20. Picked up our new 2013 DJ Crew tonight. The comfort is sure better than the 2009 DJ. Wife was like a kid in a candy shop she was so excited to pick it up. If I knew how to post pictures I would. Can someone help with that? :shades:
  21. Our current 2009 Journey SXT is Deep Water Blue but as of tomorrow it will be a 2013 DJ Crew in Storm Grey.
  22. Although the chrome clad rims looked good on our 2009 Deep Water Blue SXT I could not get over the cheap feel to them. Something about chromed plastic just does not do it for me. Our new 2013 I think just has Aluminum rims. Will know for sure when it is delivered. I think I still prefer aluminum rims.
  23. The only colour I don't particularly care for is the Bright Silver. If we could not find what we wanted we were going to factory order it in Copper. I really like that colour.
  24. biohazardWe were considering the Pearl White but with the options SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED wanted we had a very limited selection available. As it was we had to go to BC to find one and have it shipped to Lethbridge. I didn't think I would care for Storm Grey but after taking a closer look I found it grew on me. Today was stripping the old DJ and getting it ready for trade in. I dropped the trailer hitch and changed out the snow tires and rims and put the stock 19" chrome clad wheels back on. Now nothing left to do but wait for the new DJ.
