  1. Alrighty so In the last week or so I’ve experienced an issue within my 12 journey 3.6. Where the transmission is acting strange when it comes to shifting. I could be driving and the trans seems fine then suddenly when I accelerate it’ll be stuck in gear and won’t downshift to give me accelerating power. It does briefly shift gears again after I’ve come to a stop but it’ll shift a bit clunky or hesitate on which gear to use. I’ve found it best to just drive it in auto stick to where I control the gears but whose trying to do that??? I have issue previously where the transmission would shift fine but it constantly had to rev the engine out to give decent power. I’m not sure if the issues are related but does anyone have a clue. I’ve checked the transmission fluid. It’s in good condition. But here’s a link to a video I recorded
  2. It’s the 3.6, it dripping on the driver side. I didn’t have the issue until an accident but trying to pinpoint what causing the leak is hard. I have seen videos where oil leaked from the same spot and it was the pan gasket.
  3. I’m experiencing an oil leak, but I can’t really say from where. It seems to leak from by the pan. Not sure if it trans pan or engine pan. But I know it’s engine oil because it’s clear IMG_2327.MOV
  4. Unfortunately, last week I was involved in a accident in my Journey. My front end was damaged quite a bit, in the process of repairing it but I’ve hit a rock. The the frame of the car that the hood latch is attached to the Cross Member, Radiator Support or Both? I need to get that repaired before anything else because it’s pushing the components inward.
  5. But we have two of the same vehicles with the same engine. Only experience this issue with one, they’re both driven on a daily basis in the same temp weather. So it’s just odd and confusing to me why one acts differently. It’s always above normal so you just constantly hear the fan on. I can literally start it up in the morning the car would warm up and kick on the fan…
  6. I have a 2012 Journey with the 3.6L. I seem to be experiencing this issue where it’s like a loss in power. When I need or demand power, it’s like the transmission will send the car into its higher gear and rev the engine out. Even with it doing that it still feels sluggish. My mom has a 17 with 3.6 but her just has power on tap. I have to bury my foot and let the engine rev out to get power that’s often found in the lower power and of the 3.6 Journey. Not sure if the trans has been tuned over the years or if it’s because it has almost 150k miles. Does anyone have and clue or understanding what this may be???
  7. I have a 2012 3.6 Journey. I got it almost two weeks ago and I’ve noticed that the engine temp constantly rises above normal. It’ll go back and forth between the 2nd-3rd dash past normal and the fan constantly cuts on. I can be sitting and temp will rise and fan will cut on. It’ll stay on for about 30 seconds then temp would go down and would cut back on seconds later. What could cause this? I am supposed to take it back to the dealer because the engine light is on due to it needing a new oil pressure sensor but not sure if those issues are related.
  8. A bit late to this but it takes 1234yf. Assuming the part they “don’t have” is some type of proper connection to the refrigerant hose. I’ve been to stored to try and recharge myself but all the cans of or never had 1234yf only a or nothing regards to 1234yf Freon in general.
  9. So I have a 2017 Journey SXT 3.6 and the a/c blows warm room temp air. I tried to get it recharged and they told me that it uses a specific piece which they didn’t have because Journeys have the R-1234yf and not R-1234a like other vehicles. I’d have to pay hundreds at the Dodge dealer. What piece is it that they could be talking about?
