Hello, new here and was hoping for some help.

I haven't had power or control from the drivers door for a few months now, hoping for any suggestions. I've taken the door panel off and checked the wires there and in the hinge as best as as I can and do not see anything out of the ordinary. I checked and even replaced my drivers door fuse and still nothing. It all started when I replaced the switch as one of the buttons completely broke off.  Bought a new switch and everything worked fine but after 2 days there was no power to the drivers door switch. Cant control any windows, locks or mirrors and no light coming from under the switch. I even plugged the old switch with the broken button to see if it would light up as it did previously but nothing, no light coming from new or old switch.  Also prior to replacing the switch and not having any power to the door, the passive entry hasn't worked on the drivers side but works fine on the passenger side. Not sure if the 2 issues are related. My vehicle is as 2015 Dodge Journey SXT 3.6L

    Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum! But you should have made your own thread of your problem, less confusion that way.

I would go back into the rubber boot between the door and body of the car and recheck for broken wires in there. As passive entry, locks and windows all run through there, and a common problem on all cars with power features, as the drivers door gets the vast majority of use thus flexing the wires inside that rubber boot. YES it's not the easiest place to get at!!!

The tire will probably go to Syracuse and back to Buffalo and then South down to me..... IF the shipping label does NOT get damaged AGAIN.

The tire arrived Monday at 11:30 am. all4 got installed today...wife will be HAPPY again to have HER ride back!

I am NO electronics' lover when it comes to Bluetooth and phones.

For navigation , on older years the radio unit of the correct type{RB5} contains the navigation. I'm not sure being yours is a '17 model if they employ a radio code to unlock for your year, it's 'plug and play" for older years like mine.

In fact I found out today my friend got a body wrecked DJ for parts and has the Nav. radio unit and Bluetooth module. I'm getting the nav. radio as we're not certain wiring harness is there to put in the bluetooth module.

Yours may not have needed harnesses either {pre installed} and would be a big job to do if car needs to be "in use" and can't be "down" for a day or two.

And you'd still need the steering wheel controls and probable clockspring and correct wiring for it.

A LOT OF INVESTIGATING NEEDS TO BE DONE before taking things apart.

I have to retract some of what I posted. The "parts car" is a '17 crossroads model with big screen but NOT navigation{RB5 radio module} It does have factory backup camera AND backup/park assist sensors{which I'm interested in getting the camera and any needed wiring for our'13RT {with BU/park assist sensors} I'm also thinking of going after bluetooth/phone module and needed inside mirror, as it contains the mic's for phone and needed wiring. Also the auto headlight switch and light sensor to put into our '14SXT. AND then there is a "brand new" trailer hitch and the wiring/adapter that would go onto either the '14 OR my son's '11

NONE of this {other than the hitch} is easy work with a LOT of interior trim and headliner disassembly and wiring to install. Also I need to do some parts compatibility searching for the mentioned clock spring issue, the steering wheels control pad will be a whole steering wheel swap. THIS IS A MAJOR INVOLVED DOING, but nice upgrades for value and my friend says I will not have ANY PROBLEM WITH PRICE, He got the car for the powertrain! Yes I have to do the removing of parts, at least i don't have to put things back together!!!! I also have the alphaobd program to update the BCM if any thing done needs that.

I have a spare car to put any one down for needed time to do the work, the wife just won't be happy to be without her 13RT

@lost17 You may want to consider what a complete aftermarket screen/piggyback audio system might do for your wants. There have been a few well explained threads here recently on doing this to gain certain "features".

I meant brake pedal, not gas.

The "picture" is much clearer now, thanks for clarifying the symptoms. Need some time to search this one out to reply further. Is the red dot anti theft warning light on or flashing when you try and start it? Any interior power {lights , radio} working?

Which engine size and is your A/C R134a or the NEW STUFF?

just looking at these pictures makes me feel good living in Al. since we hardly get any snow or ice, cars last so much longer down here

    Hey @2late4u

Ya gotta "rub it in" . It takes a special PRIDE in one's abilities to overcome the effects of weathers doings in maintaining our rides. At least I don't have to worry much about Hurricanes. tornadoes or large hailstorms.

  7. Nice photography of this "job"

Only our '11 needed a rear bearing so far, and it was done by my friend as he already had the car for some other work being done. I've done FRONT bearings on all 3 and just a few more "things" in the way to deal with for the rear units.

Nice work there, and OHH you seem to have a nice GARAGE to work in!

BTW: I love the saying at the bottom of your posting!

just brought 2017 journey touch screen has no icon for phone or navigation is there a way to get them

First of all, Is your new to you equipped with phone/ bluetooth control pad on the left side of the steering wheel? IF NOT then the components are not in the car that would give you those features and are quite PRICEY to buy and install.

Of the 3 older year DJ's{'11, '13, '14} in my stable, only 1 is equipped with bluetooth/phone and no navigation.

  10. The tire in K.C. left the Fedex distribution center at 7:00 a.m.  Don't have an update as to WHERE it is as of yet, Google maps says it's a 15.5 hour trip from there to my home. But WHO KNOWS just WHERE it's going? Projected delivery by the end of the day on Monday.

The other 3 tires were delivered at 1:30 p.m. today to my front porch, and they do look nice for the price!

I recently picked up low-mileage (28K) 2018 and discovered that the front windshield washer was not doing much but dribbling out when activated.  I opened the hood to check connections and all are good.  While I had the hood open I also cleaned out the emitter orifices with a needle.  I left the hood propped open, got back in the vehicle and ran the washer and it sprayed like a champ.  Closed the hood and tried again and back to just a dribble.  To clarify, with the hood closed the emitter on the driver's side 'dribbles', the passenger side emits nothing.  The lines appear to be running along their proper route, so don't think anything is getting kinked when I close the hood.

    Any suggestions?

If spraying with hood open, LOOK on the drivers side at the hood pivot area. The washer line makes a 180* bend there to go into the hood spray nozzles.

2 of my 3 DJ's had that area kink  and one was actually broken. I repaired with flexible hose with a little extra length so the original layout of this hard plastic line does not bend so sharply.

Also on my third DJ a  washer nozzle had a broken fitting for the supply hose to hook up to, This one had enough to reconnect  back and I used a mini tie strap to hold it on, just like using a hose clamp. This problem made both nozzles ineffective as they run on the same supply line through the hood.

    Good Luck!

I should have ordered ship to STORE! One tire is in K.C. Missouri and the other 3 went past Buffalo hub to Syracuse and now has to retrace same route back to Buffalo and then to me! I don't think I'll even have all 4 by Saturday.

And point of origin was only 6 hours drive away at Oak Park Michigan.

Don't think my wife will let me buy 2 more and modify them. As it is I'm not allowed to buy any more cars. 😆 🤣 😂

    4 is my current limit

I'm in that same boat.... My wife says i have to sell the Buick and the '14 BEFORE I can buy a minivan or Pacifica, which would be more beneficial to my uses. BUT I don't dare think of selling off HER '13RT! and son is very happy with the '11.

    Further update

It was a LF wheel bearing also and all the caliper pins were VERY STICKY. MOOG front bearing and Raybestos front and rear pads were delivered Friday at 1:45 pm  from rockauto for another $185. Bearing and front brake work done by Friday at 4:30pm I did the rear brake work today with snowflakes in the air, 2.5 hrs. time and finished by 12:30 pm

    Now it just needs TIRES!!

So today {Tuesday} I ordered the 4 Kumho Crugen tires with ship to home for a grand total of $460.04 from Walmart. They are supposed to arrive Friday, and when in hand my friend will mount and balance them for me. I'm hoping he will also put them on the car, as I really don't care for the thought of bringing the wheels "loose" to him. He has gotten very busy this last month, I guess some folks are getting tax refunds and getting cars back in shape for the upcoming summer!

When I bought the journey it did not have OEM sensors in it they had already been replaced with store-bought brands and it ran fine for 3 months after we purchased it until that heater hose burst and it ran hot after the rebuild is when everything went haywire, I've had two mechanics look at it for me because my scanner tool is only a $500 scanner tool in it only does so much and one of them mechanics has one of the $6,000 snap-on scanner tools that gives you all of your graphs and everything that you can watch voltages peaks and valleys of everything that you can name on the motor and both mechanics said everything looks fine but this should not be happening but clearly it is and I have seen online where others have had the same issue with no report of what they found to be the problem so now I'm stuck with a very nice car that I can't drive.

Either a problem with the VVT system OR timing marks are off between crankshaft and cams. You had the head off, very easy to have the crank move off position on reassembly VVT system can handle only a small amount of timing discrepancy and probably why only showing up at operating temp.
