  1. Hi everyone, I am reaching out again to see if anyone has some good info. I responded to an old post last year regarding my backup camera. Still not working nor had any responses. This year my rear windshield wiper just quit working. I replaced the camera and no love there. It used to have garbled 1960s static, but now I get the blank screen treatment. The wiper decided to follow suit and stopped working altogether. The sprayer works but that is about it. I did check all the fuses in case one was burnt out, All look good both inside the car as well as under the hood. Knowing this is not a normal function of the DJ's, does anyone have any advice before I go back to the dealership for out-of-warranty troubleshooting?
  2. Hi all! It has been almost a year since my last post. My 2015 DJ’s camera stopped working last summer after moving to New Mexico during the heat of the summer. When winter came around and 50degree temperatures hit, the camera started working. Once temps started hitting over 90 degrees this summer, I experienced the flashing screen until it black out with only the words showing “check surroundings” I purchased a replacement camera, checked connections behind the Navi unit and even checked checked the backup camera fuse. All checked out but the camera didn’t work. Earlier this week the temp dropped to 60 degrees and the camera started working. By the afternoon and temps hitting almost 90., the camera went out again. I am at wits end why the camera works in lower temps. This issue did not occur when I lived in California. Oh yes, the dealership said it may be the Navi unit electronics when I asked them during an oil change at the beginning of the year. This is an old thread, but I am hoping someone may have experienced it an has a recommendation to get it working in hot weather.
  3. @caffinated Catholic, WOW, I went and cycled through the languages on my navi to see if it would hang up. I did it before and had No problems. So this time, everything seemed to work once getting it back to English. Well almost everything worked... my back up camera is blank but shows the warning banner. It may not be related, but it has extremely good timing for something to fail! I will go through the posts to see if any had something similar or may have to take it to a dealer an pay the $150.00 Troubleshoot fee.
  4. Too funny! Multi lingual travelleing at its best. I once set my car to French one time to mess with my friends. If all your displays are in French it is an easy fix to set your system back to English. If it is only the voice that May be something else. Try to reset radio the language to French, then Spanish and go back and set it to English. No guaranty it works, but worth a try.
  5. Hi all, always happy to post when I can to help anyone or brag on what I had upgraded in my DJ! LOL! I am posting here cause a received the dreaded P06DD code about a 1000 miles ago last month. After getting the 60000 mile service Everything seemed just fine. A month later My DJ Went into limp mode and the service engine light Turned on. I got to work, turned off the car and called the dealership. They asked me to bring it in for a diagnostic. Easy day, I drove it there and the car drove normal. Fast forward, dealer noticed the car was 3 qts low and they reset the engine light. After they asked for me to drive 1000 miles and bring it back to check the engine. A 1000 miles later, I brought it back. It was down about three qts again! Well, the tech had advised me it needed engine work due to this being very common for the 3.6 pentstar. He mentioned the head gaskets, oil pump, and a few more items that needed to be replaced. All of the items except one were covered under the 5/100000 power train warranty. I think it was the $300.00 pvc valve/pump. I may be off on what it is but will update in two days when I get the DJ back. I have had this DJ since 2015, put on 61000 miles on it, get all the required maintenance done at the dealership, and basically drive like grandma 99% of the time. I was really shocked to have the P06DD code pop up. It must be because I do not abuse it enough! It is very reliable and I average anywhere between 18 and 21 mpg with regular driving. I think it is easy to keep it high because I keep the fuel economy gauge on and drive at the highest economy level as possible. -

What a shocker, the dealership I usually go-to for all my maintenance needs seemed to have changed out their service advisors' brains or I am just too much for them as a valued customer. usually, the advisors will open up the program showing my vehicle info and possible options for service codes. This visit, they let me know they can no longer access the program. Only the parts department or technician in the garage has access to it. Maybe next time?
  7. Bramfrank, Thank you for your response. I wasn't sure if they could add a sales code for the radio or not. But, I was able to source the RB5 unlock code for $3.00 on a well-known auction website with just the radio model number and serial number (located on the sticker on the radio). We can only dream to see LMK return?! LOL! I will be going to the dealership for an alignment this week and at the same time ask if LMG code is available for the auto headlights. My usual service advisor gets a laugh every time I come in to check if different codes are available.

  9. Had the 60000-mile service done and the DJ seems to be purring like a kitten! I just have one regret, I had replaced the cabin and engine air filters a month before the service. Without reading the fine print, the dealership replaced them for a total cost of $90.00. I should have had an alignment done vice the filters changed
  10. Quick question, I have posted on other threads my update to the Nav radio in my DJ donated from another car. Does anyone have the sales code the dealer can add to my VIN? All the other Add-ons I have installed are loaded with the sales codes (back-up and remote start). Also, any word on the pesky DRL sales code yet for the north American 2015's?
  11. Hey all, I went back to the website two weeks ago and the maps are available again. Ordered and installed in my DJ and now works like a champ (again).

But Chrysler in their apologetic way has graciously extended the offer. PLEASE NOTE: This product is currently out of stock.   13. Ouch, this isn’t the way I want to respond to a post, but......I experienced the deploying head rest a week ago. I was driving on the road and heard a pop next to me and saw the passenger headrest popped up like it had hydraulics . About made me jump out of a moving car! It Looks almost exactly like the picture posted earlier in this thread. I took a closer look at it once i got home. There was some broken plastic that held a small silver metal pin. I did read the manual when I purchased the car and it explained to give the headrest the Heimlich maneuver to reset it. With the pin mount broken, it will not reset. I went to our dealer and expected to pay my normal fee of $150 to have them tell me it deployed! LOL! But they looked at it for free and let me know that just the headrest is $540.00 not including labor to install it. I am not sure what is up in California and DJ’s but it seemed like no one had any front seats with headrests. Yikes, $500 tTo replace it was not sounding good. Yesterday I tried another auto dismantler near Sacramento and they happened to have one. Black material and black plastic cover for $50.00. (That beat the ones for $130.00 on eBay.). I drove out there today and bought it. I will be changing the skins this weekend and installing it. One black headrest in a tan leather interior would look a bit odd. There was a mention that the air bag light came on earlier in the post when theirs deployed. I do not have the message showing. Maybe because of the failure in the plastic mount? The part that looks like a second stage boost did not separate in my head rest. Maybe that’s why? Only dodge knows...(ominous music playing in background) Oh well, I will let you all know who it goes after I R & R it this weekend! I also plan to file a report to the NHTSA as well with this event due to it being part of the airbag system. If there is a trend of this happening ,you never know where it may lead. At the very least just a tool for statistics for this failure.
  14. Polecat, thank you for adding the instruction link. Following the instructions is highlighted in the first step. I had to update the software and needed the extra memory stick before actually loading the maps
  15. Nice to have a second opinion. Staying with the manual, there were very few other items not needed. Since I do not tow a trailer too often, the basic should be enough.
  16. Hi Draydon, that is about it. There are a few steps in between , but yes once the system finishes updating the map it worked perfect.
  17. Draydon, if you are up to date with the software and everything else is functioning the next step would be to try the map update. Make sure you follow the instructions when you get the map. I can not guarantee success or not, but it seems like you are at the same place I was after I updated my software. Good luck

  19. Hi, my original radio was non-Navi, the used replacement was from same year dj with a Navi. The reason for having the original vin was to be able to upload the software update. My DJ was not originally equipped with NAVi. The Garmin update utilized the data from the radio itself to make sure you have the right map version. Hope this helps
  20. Hi Draydon, I had no issues when I updated the software version of the Navi system and purchasing the maps from Garmin. My only challenge was to make sure I had the VIN from the donor DJ to get the software upgrade. Works like a champ! note: I only had the "Can't unlock maps" and “missing detailed maps” error. No other messages. Also, with the previous posts, Garmin has the special for $99 for the 2019 maps. I have the habit of keeping up with latest software so I will be purchasing the newest map.
  21. This true, if I didn’t have to change out the radio without a warranty it would of stayed a straight non-Navi set up. Since the cost of the Navi unit was the same price as a used non-Navi then no issues. It worked out either way.
  22. Thank you guys for your responses. It is a 3.6 with AWD. I wish I still drove like I used to do. I am that guy that stays at the speed limit on the freeways and streets. Very boring most of the time. Yes, torque steer is what I meant. My old camaro had higher shift points not torque steer. Sorry about the confusion. If I get on it (LOL in my dj ) it pulls or steers to the left. As far as the rpm’s: going on the freeway it holds more of the gears to higher RPM’s more than it did a few months ago. No change on my driving style but noticeable when it runs up to 4500-5000 RPm’s. I am used to a lot lower shift points from when I first started driving it. It has almost 60000 miles now and I will be setting up an appointment at the dealership to do the major maintenance ($600.00) which includes changing the dif oil but not the trans fluid. After reading this post last week, I spoke to the dealers to ask the same question, they mentioned I should bring it in so they can reset the computer for $150.00. ( that seems like there favorite price for everything ) if i can do it myself for free, than I think I could try it out. I will let you all know how it goes.
