  1. Unfortunately that didn't do it. It's been on and off several times since I noticed the problem. I guess it's time to get used to running without it because it sure isn't gonna be worth the hundreds of dollars that the dealer is gonna charge me to repair it.
  2. Hello everyone! I have not had to post much because my Journey has treated me better than most. Today, however, was the first glitch. When I shifted into reverse the screen for my rear camera just went black. All I can see is the phrase "check entire surroundings" but there is no picture. I got out and checked the obvious (missing, covered in tape, damaged, etc). The unit looks fine from the outside, so I'm dreading its a wiring issue. It's a 2009 SXT AWD with almost 74,000 km so warranty is out of the question. Any suggestions?
  3. I feel like I should be knocking on every piece of wood I come across!! I have a 2009 SXT AWD bought in Sept of 08. I just finally changed my own brakes after 70,000 km (43,500 miles). I live 7 hrs from the dealership (who BTW is a jerk anyway), and Canadian Tire wanted $800 to do it, so I bought a full set of cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads from eBay for $300 and had my buddy help me. I followed the brake in procedure that came with the brakes and two days later the car went on a 3500 km road trip. Brakes are still fine; no squeak, squeal, fade, pull, weird pedal feel. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed on this.
  4. The driver side floor bin has been crumpled by running the Journey over a median. Can the bin be "popped" out and replaced with a new one or is it part of the floor of the vehicle? I see four bolts on the inside lip of the bin, but when I look at the bin from underneath I can't see a "seam". Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I think the switchbacks only come in 3157 not 3757 which is what the Journey needs. I don't know if they are interchangeable. Maybe someone who knows for sure could post, because I would be very interested in getting a set.
  6. I bought the Reflex Wetec from CT and they suck more than the factory wipers they replaced. They miss a huge spot right in my line of sight at highway speed (in town driving is not so bad). And they make an awful slapping sound every time they change direction, even when its pouring rain outside. Biggest waste of $40 ever. Will be going back to plain jane teflon wipers asap.
  7. I have an SXT AWD with 19s. For the winter I put on a set of 16s with taller sidewall Tigerpaws (unstudded). Handled great once you got used to the ESP. The only piece of advice I could give is get a set a splash guards. I washed my Journey the other day and found the forward facing surface of the rear fender lip beat to a pulp for about 4 inches from the bottom. It actually looks like someone sandblasted it. Very choked as I like to wax and polish my vehicles and have them look nice. It is obviously rock spray from the front tires.
  8. So far not too bad for a first year vehicle. Purchased 09 in September 08, and it now has 12500 km on it. Complaints so far: - Down shifting for every little hill and sometimes for no hill at all - The brake light being on constantly (found fix on this site...trying to convince dealer that that is the problem) - MyGiG LCD brightness screws up on cold mornings. I have it set to auto brightness, but sometimes when I start its so dim I can hardly see it (about twice as dim as the night time setting). I have to manually change it to daytime. - Don't like the way the ESP kills your throttle when you're sliding..why not xfer all power to front wheels or something like that. It was very disconcerting just sliding towards a traffic island and not being able to do anything. On the plus side: - No major issues engine or electronic issues - No squeaks, rattles, hums, whistles, whines, etc. - AWD handles great (except for issue above) - Gas mileage is great - recently got 9.1 l/100km (26 mpg) on a 700 km highway trip passing through about a dozen small towns. My city mileage is 14.7 l/100km (16 mpg).
  9. Very nice grille inserts but at :o $570.00 CAD :o that is WAY to steep.
  10. The company is called Romik. Here is the site address: http://www.romik-usa.com/Romik-USA_DODGE_JOURNEY.html
  11. look at getting mygig lockpick v.2. It unlocks several features including running the backup camera while driving, and installing a park assist front camera (avail from the same people). It 290 bucks at this site - http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm
  12. Yup happened to me today. Parked at the store; came back in ten minutes and ding there it was. 2500 km on the odo. Dealer is 8hrs away will phone in the am so he can order and have it ready for next visit.
  13. Yup I notice it on my DW blue. Even in direct sunlight you can notice it if you look at the car from an angle with the sun shining over your shoulder. My cali had that as well. It probably has to do with the paint being on a plastic bumper versus metal body panels.
