I did. I just used 3M automotive double sided tape on the bottom grill and secured the bottom grill with that to with the 3m tape to the OEM honeycomb grill. The fit was so tight that it was hard to get out after I fit test it so I just decided to save time and use 3m double sided tape. I took it on the highway for 35 mins and it is still tight

the lenses does not have to be red or atleast not in maryland , the truck I had that I traded in had aftermarket LED tail lamps with clear lenses . Only thing red was the LED bulbs / The dealer sold it on their lot with the aftermarket led tail lamps too

You need to remove the entire fascia, see attached file.

Never mind, I just figured what the hell and started pulling stuff out and it more or less worked out. I didnt install the lower one yet cause that one looks harder to undo from the bottom. the bottom bumper valance has the same pull tabs but it looks like it is attached to something else. I can reach down from the top grill cover either. Unless the whole top grill chrome part can be removed. I just pull the tabs out and loosen it enough to get my hands behind the grill

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-2011-2012-Dodge-Journey-Stainless-Steel-Mesh-Grille-Insert-Combo-/190638073242?fits=Make%3ADodge%7CModel%3AJourney&hash=item2c62ea259a:g:zcoAAOSwpDdU9dhl&vxp=mtr
So I brought those for my Dodge Journey and I think this should be easy to install . My how Question is the Grill cover in the engine bay above the headlights.
I want to remove that cover so I can get my hands in behind the grill. I see 5 tabs. If I remove the 5 tabs, will they break . I was thinking about taking a flathead to pop them out but will I need to replace those if I pop them out so I can remove the grill cover between the headlights in the engine and from looking at it, I think that looks all I need to do to remove the grill cover or is there something else I may not be seeing that needs to be removed ?
thank you all for the help

So since I had some extra plastidip sitting around I decided to see how the tail lights looked blacked out. Not sure if I like them or not. Going to give it a little while to see if it grows on me, if I like it I'll do a vinyl wrap like I did with the reflectors and third brake light.

Have the same engine in my 2009. @130,000 miles and she still runs and rides like new . Very comfortable ride and the little 2.4 just purrs away . Getting around 26 avg combined miles , I live out in the sticks so most of my trips even to a grocery store is 15 miles of open road.
Very impressed with this little suv and the 2.4 world engine.

I keep my center cluster on MPGs, and reset it every time I fill it. I was on the loop around Columbus, going 73 and it was reading 35.6 or 36.5: i don't remember. This with the V6 and less than 1,000 miles on the odometer! So, I'm a happy camper. I get around 18 in town.
I know that very intersection that you are talking about. You have to get off of I70, go a few blocks through town - nice truck stop there - and get back on 70. Very weird.

So I took the journey for a country ride today, ha I went for a journey in my journey ! I do like to watch my MPG's as that is very important to me with gas prices not being 1 dollar a gallon lol!
My Journey SE has the 2.4 L4 with the 4 Speed auto and according to the info dig screen in my journey, it is getting a combined avg of 26.5 but I feel like it could be a bit more high a few reasons I believe it is getting better MPG is , 1- today I left Hagerstown MD with a tank full of gas. i traveled west on interstate 70 from MD into PA where I turn off in some small town that I-70 dumps into ( you need to turn right to get back on I-70) I turn left and ended up going on rt 30 in pa going though some cities and I ended up seeing signs for Cumberland Maryland and though hell bells lets go for it and I journey on some back roads that twisted and turn till I ended up in Cumberland Maryland where I took I-68 in Maryland back to I-70 in Maryland back to Hagerstown MD.
I used about 4/10 of a full tank of gas . I love the ride and how the journey handles on roads and how comfortable the ride is but the 2.4 is the star to me and a forgotten little hero! The engine which is from the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Engine_Allianceis also used in the Hyundai sonata which I had one a 2007 that had 178k miles when I traded it in for my dodge avenger
The other reason, I think the engine MPG is underated is , the 2.4 in my Hyundai was like a Timex watch but also very fuel efficient , it took a hell of a beating with all those miles I put on it but it also got great MPG's and as far as the reliability , it was still running great when I traded it in. I just wanted something more nicer looking. I am sure I would had got another 100k miles out of that engine . I also took great care of my car, did a oil change every 6k miles , flush the transmission fluid at 110k miles, kept all the fluids filled and checked. The 2,4 always always netted me 30 to 33 on the highway so I do believe the 2.4 in the journey has a higher MPG then it is rated @ BY DODGE!

Hey thanks for the reply. there is no discolor on the rims, as they only had 355 miles when I felt just a dirty film feeling when you run your hand over them like if you ever ran your hands over something that had over spay from a can of spray paint. I just used water and soap to wash them. I will have to look into some rim cleaner then for these type of chrome rims! thanks for the heads up on the chrome color problem some Chrysler owners faced , I hope my problem was just from using only water and soap!

Black is the hardest paint color to keep clean and water spot free I have ever had on cars and I have had 3 black cars to date with the 2015 dodge journey being my third black painted car and I am sure all know their hard as hell to clean but once their clean, their wicked looking classy looking etc ! I have not had it washed yet since I took it from the dealer, the dealer didn't wash it but that is OK cause they have a car wash and I don't want their car wash messing up my paint anyways. My last truck the GMC Sierra I traded in for this DJ was black too and I would take it though car washes, big mistake , i soon had swirl marks on the paint from what I assume was the car wash brushes were dirty and leaving the swirl marks so on this DJ, I have decided I will only wash this by hand or if I do a car wash, only the touchless one but those really only knock the top layer of dirt off so their a waste of money IMO if the car is more then dusty. Anyways I live in a apartment and I brought a bucket sponge and found a self service wash bay that no one uses, I only needed the water , pressure washer. I fill the bucket up and scrub it by hand with my clean sponge vs their wash brush which I am afraid might have dirt in the brush and would scratch my paint up. I have had that happen to my gmc as well as my 2012 dodge avenger which both got scratches and swirl marks from the wash bay wash brush . Anyways back to the topic, I wanted to also make sure I had no water spots as well as I want this car to look as good 2 years from now as it does now and i found the black ice by turtle wax really does a awesome job . My DJ is glossy shinny after using Black ice detailer on it. I def will use the black ice wax on it as well before winter sets in !
Anyhow I used Black Ice Detailer by turtle wax, it did a great job and left no water spots. Well worth the 9.99 price I paid at autozone . Only problem I have now is I can feel the chrome rims have like a layer of dirty film on them, they look clean to the eye but on my hand I can tell the chrome is dirty to touch , almost like over spray , any one know a good product to use on the chrome rims to clean them good ?

Your chrome rims are actually an aluminum wheel with plastic chrome cladding glued on, so you have to be careful to get a product that is specifically made for plastic chrome. If the chrome itself has started to discolor, you may not be able to fix it, without replacing the wheel. When I was on the Nitro forum, a lot of the members were getting their wheels replaced by Chrysler because of the lousy chomeing process.
