This topic has probably been discussed a lot, but there are varying opinions. Most people say that the dealers will say "no" to any kind of infotainment upgrade such as this. Others here have demonstrated the quick and easy installation of one of these. There seems to be no definitive answer, SO: Has anybody put an 8.4N and RB5 in a Journey SE? (Replacing the RHA 4.3)

Does anybody know the difference between an SE and a VLP SE? (Variable Line Pressure for Transmission, I think)- how would this affect the wiring harness? Some Chrysler parts websites will list that this particular unit will work iin a 2013 VLP SE but it doesn't mention the simple "SE".

For what it's worth, if I were to install a backup camera, I would get the factory part, the then just hook up a wireless transmitter from a cheap camera (cut the camera off and wire it to the factory one), and use the reverse light as power, and then hook up the receiver to the head unit where the normal plug would go. Saves tearing up the interior.

Cool. Did you need to get anything extra, like a wire harness? Did they, in fact, just plug and play (I imagine a bit of number matching needed to be done)? Did the lower console stack have to be replaced as well, the one with the "auto" climate control knob, split? (also contains radio knobs and buttons for hazard lights and defrosters) My car was built in Mexico. Bought in Canada. I wonder if there are any differences in assembly in different countries. Is an SE from Canada the SAME as an SE from Argentina?

Consider that once you may be going for auto air, that you buy the sensor that also handles the automatic headlights - from there you only need to add the auto switch and have the sales code flashed into the vehicle . . . and from there, if you get the right headlight switch you can add the fog light kit . . . . it just keeps on going . . . .
