Clunking when put into reverse

Just my 2 cents with regards to Chrysler trannies - I have driven

exclusively Mopar since 1984 in both a service and personal

capacity a new one every 3 -5 yrs and have never had one

fail nor act finicky.

My finicky comment was in regards to the fluids used... I would assume that you used the correct fluids and changed them at the correct intervals. If that is the case then I wouldn't expect you to have had any issues with them being finicky. Unfortunately some people (and even shops) don't refill with ATF+4 and then their tranny starts going south quickly...
