Tire Pressure Monitor

I installed my winter tires on my 2011 SXT yesterday. I was expecting the TPM to show a problem and then have to black out the warning light with black tape. After about 30 km the TPM noticed that I didn't have any air in any of my tires and set off the low pressure warning and light. The next time I started the DJ the light was gone and the TPM area on my dash display just said N/A, and no warning light on the dash has happened since. Nice

You sure do like to install your snows early.

I wait for the last legal day in Quebec (December 15) and get them off on the first legal day (March 15). We don't get snow that sticks before the December date and very little after mid march and it sure reduces tire wear to have them on as little as possible.

I was wondering what the thing would so when I swapped my winter wheels onto the car. Thanks for sharing.

Yes it is early but since I had to buy a new set of tires and wheels I wanted to get it done. Everyone waits until the first snowfall and then it is really nuts at all the tire places. Next year I will just swap them myself.

That's awesome! I wonder if the behavior is the same with the American models since TPMS is mandatory in the US.

I noticed the same thing with my 2011 Crew. I installed my winter tires last weekend. On the first drive after putting on the winter tires, I got the warning to service the TPMS. Since then, no warnings or beeps have happened and the TPMS section just shows N/A. This is different behaviour than last winter (March 2011). When I had my winter tires on last winter, I'd get the warning light and beep at each startup. I quickly learned to ignore it. I can only guess that this change in behaviour is due to one of the software updates I had applied to my car at my first major service over the summer.

Even though the beep and warning light at start up didn't really bother me last winter, I do like this change better!
