radon360
I see in the manual there is mention of a retractible, roll-up cover that will keep items in the back out of view. I asked my salescritter if this was an accessory that can be purchased, since mine didn't come with this piece. He didn't know and mentioned that he hasn't seen one come in with that particular feature. The accessories catalog mentions nothing about it. Anyone know if this is available or will be made available in the future?
Snow_Runner
Welcome to the group, also I think that is the first time I have heard "salescritter"!! Luckily I don't need to use it. The cargo shade only comes if you do not get the 3rd row seats as far as I know. I will verify this and let you know. Rick.
kconnors
Hi radon, My 5-seat SXT AWD came with the cover which I promply removed and stored in garage. To me it's a nuisance for everyday use but I may use it to hide the suitcases, etc. if we go on a trip. Keith

I too would like to know if this can be purchased separately, as I plan to keep the rear seats folded down most of the time, and only flip them up when needed. I know that I will have to remove the cover to allow rear seat access in that case, but still would like to cover up the cargo area when the seats are not in use. Nicetrip, I think the rear quarter trim panels are different and will not accept the Cargo Cover. I was thinking the same thing as you. but after looking at the way the clips are molded in, It will not work without doing some modification to the rear trim panels. I too would LOVE to have the cover with my Flex seating I wonder if you can order the rear trim panels and install them? I don't know about seat belt anchoring for the 3rd row and where they are, now what I mean? Rob

Rob Yeah, after I posted the question, I took a close look at some of the pictures, and reached the same conclusion. There does not look to be any place to install the cover in the 3-row car. Oh well, ya win some, ya lose some. I may try to figure a creative way to make it work, but most likely I'll live with it. The glass is tinted quite dark, and the rear windows are somewhat small, so it may not make that much difference anyway.

It was funny cause I was thinking the exact same thing. If you ever venture into this project, let me know and Vis-Versa. If anyone wants to get rid of/sell there cargo cover, I know 2 guys looking for one. Rob
Booker T
I had one of those on my Jeep Grand Cherokee a few years back...used it for a couple of months, then put it in the garage after that, never to use it again. They are nice if you live in an area where cars get broken into a lot, but with the heavy tint on the windows, it shouldn't be that important. That is, unless you keep your porn in there and don't want people to see it! lol
Phil
Actually, I rather like the cargo cover. After years with mini-vans trying to cover-up cargo with a balnket, the cover is rather nice... It also cuts down on the glare in the rear-vier mirror if you have light colored items int he rear area. I only wish I could use it when the Journey is really loaded down with cargo...or cover the whole back when the middle seats are down (only have the 5-seat FWD package). - Phil
moparfreak77
What are these covers worth? The one out of my wife's Journey might be for sale.

I am interested in a "new" unused cargo cover that you had retired from your Journey. I live in Colombia, South America, but would transfer funds to any bank account to the vendor and the cover would be sent to a friend at Miami, Florida. He also could send money order. For residents in Canada, I could pay though Interac e-mail money transfer (I have an account at RBC), to ship to the US (Florida). Just let me know the price and contact information. Thanks.
