2013 wiper/washer wiring diagram needed

Recommended Posts

OK, so I've read a bunch of washer concerns with little actual "fixes" being posted.

My project '13sxt just stopped having the washer pump activate when called upon. It worked last week as I checked everything in preps. for NY Inspection.

Already swapped both pump and multifunction switch from our '13 RT and still no go on sxt, but it's parts work in the RT.

Wipers work front and rear, just NO WASHER and no pump sound when activated.

Some posts say fuse and others say there is no fuse, other online sites are just as confusing with no actual found the fix endings.

HELP PLEASE

Obvious that a broken wire or even possible fuse panel circuit. BOTH pump and switch swapped from working vehicle.

Would like to be able to track connection points to narrow down where fault lay, rather than old school unwrap the wire from the pump til found!!!!

OKAY HERE WE GO !

I did a power disconnect and then hooked back up and front squirters started working. I then tried the rear squirter and it did NOT work, I then retried the fronts and they also did NOT work.

I went to the REAR HATCH wire bundle between body and hatch and found BRKEN WIRES of the color code for wipers and 2 more ready to break. I separated the broken wires and the ones ready to go and did another power "reset" and fronts came back!

SO after posting this, I'm getting my "gear" together to repair the wires at the back hatch!!

Thanks to 2late4u for your reply ! YES broken wires, I just wish you had reminded me about the common rear hatch wire problem !   LOL:hat_tip:

 consider this problem FIXED

WELL.....

Repairing the wires in the rubber boot did NOT fix the problem. I have ALL rear hatch functions(and always did) EXCEPT for the washer. If I engage rear washer on the switch it cuts out both front and rear WASHERS, wipers will still function.

I know there are some relays in the upper left rear corner where the rubber boot is located that may be part of the problem, but at 45*f and breezy out in my driveway I'm going to call it quits for today and stick a not to the DASH to NOT USE rear washer function. Time for a nice HOT COFFEE!!!!!

This is 2016 DJ service information.

The electrical circuit for both

window washers.

The fuse is the SCCM fuse 10 Amp in the interior fuse box.

The power and ground comes through the Steering Column Control Module- SCCM

Which is the clockspring assembly and multifunction switch combined together.

The washer commands are sent over the CAN bus communication lines. To the BCM.

From the BCM there is one wire for the front window.

Another wire for the rear window.

It uses a reversible pump motor.

The BCM controls all washer pump functions.

There is no ground wire to washer pump.

Just the 2 control wires.

THANKS @DeanHensler !

I got to thinking over my HOT COFFEE that past work I had done fixing the HFM that I had the interior fuse panel down and that it was not fully secured in it's mounting as one side holder was broken off the fuse box. MAYBE in putting it back up that I pinched a wire??? RAIN the next 2 days, but I will definitely go and check the interior fuse panel and fuse there.

I can not remember now what functions were lost on my son's '11 rear hatch, but found broken wires inside the back hatch area INSIDE the body. Had to pull trim panels and such for access and saw relays back there also as to info of my last posting.

Thanks for the diagram and pic's, they will be MOST USEFULL to me in getting things "squared away" :hat_tip:

SORRY for the wrong person being sent "KUDOS".

It was the autofill/autocorrect feature of the forum that made the mistake(but I didn't catch it):hat_tip:

Still have to wait for rains/wind to stop and temps to warm back up a bit before further work on the problem......LOL

WELL...

the rains ended for now and the winds died down with temps around 45*f.

Pulled the interior fuse panel back down and all was good for wires there, so put it all back together and tried the washers. The fronts worked properly but still no go on the rears(no pump sound or flow). BUT it did not kick out the front washers.

I tried the rears a few more times while alternating with the fronts, all of a sudden the rear started working! the spray pattern was kind of "funky" but it works! All I can think of is that the line had developed a blockage that finally worked free.

Whatever the matter, I'm NOT GOING TO LOOK A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH over this matter. CASE CLOSED!
