Charlton Wilson
Hi guys I've seen my issue discussed in a few threads (especially Reilly Walker) but no solution has been posted. I have a Dodge Journey 2013 STX (Registered in Sydney, Australia - For those who don't know, we use kms instead of miles. 😊 ) Symptoms: 1. Centre console lights are off 2. None of the buttons work (except the hazard lights) 3. I can hear faint music 4. Engine light will intermittently turn on and turn off after a while 5. Fan will intermittently turn on 6. I've tested the fuses in the engine bay AND under the dash. 7. Tyre Pressure System service message comes on when I start the car and the orange tyre light stays on. I'll get to that with the next service. 8. Battery was replaced 6 months ago. 9. Alternator was replaced about a year ago. 10. Screen changed to miles and suddenly, 2 weeks ago reverted back to kilometres. Please feel free to ask for further information. Thanks muchly 😁
Dean H
You need to have it scanned with a bi-directional scan tool. That communicates with all the modules.
Charlton Wilson
I was hoping that someone else had already gone through the process. Mechanics here charge around AU$100+ to run a scan. 😕
2late4u
this method does work BUT it wont show every code or problem like a high dollar scanner will...you can buy the bi directional scanners but will cost you 300-and up depending on your expertise and wanting to learn on how to use...good luck I would check all your grounds on your journey sometimes a lot of corrosion can cause faulty problems ....... sounds like you have a computer problem since you have a wide variety of problems Edited September 4, 2025 by 2late4u Summer Solstice
2late4u
Just wondering since you bought ( new or used) your journey is there any dodge or fremont dealerships there or do they get shipped in thur independent dealers or private sellers??, probally need to take it to a electronic repair shop for a complete scan and repair
Charlton Wilson
I bought it at auction 6 years ago and it was in perfect condition. There are dealerships here but these people charge an arm, a leg and testicle... 🤬😕
