Upgraded front door speaker

Recommended Posts

Finally got around to upgrading the front door speakers. Ive been using aftermarket Alpine 6x9s for several years and they worked fine but didn't have the mids and highs as much as I would prefer to handle my "factory" system.

So took doors off and added some sound deadening while I was there and replaced the 6x9 with a 8" mid driver and a 3.5" horn tweeter. Not claiming these are top shelf equipment but definitely adds that little bit of sound it was missing. Maybe one day may go higher quality but these are not high power so great for now.

Just wondering on my arm rest the vinyl/leather part has a small crack starting in it on the top flat part, just wondering if or how that piece is attached to the door panel??? wondering if it is screwed to the whole panel or is formed in one whole piece and not a separate arm rest???

It is several parts but the bigger issue is all the joints are melted plastic rivets. Honestly I'd just pick up a new panel at a junk yard
