bjodway
I own a 2012 Dodge Journey SE with the basic uconnect model (no bluetooth). I typically play music either through CDs or an aux cord. For a while, the audio through my aux cord especially has been stuttering intermittently. Now, it stutters constantly and is nearly unplayable. I have tried new aux cords, new dongles, everything. I tried to do the uconnect reset -- it doesn't work. I tried to disconnect the battery for ten minutes -- it doesn't work. I gave up and tried to play CDs and just use the radio. The audio stutters for both too. I'm at my wit's end and cannot find a solution online. The car was gifted to me a year ago and had a maintenance checkup beforehand and didn't see any issues. After going to the maintenance multiple times for other issues regarding this money-sink of a car, I've not been told of any issues related to electronics. What worries me is, last summer, the Journey suddenly stopped after I was pulling out of parking. This happened three times, and the whole system would do some kind of electronic reset. Usually, my audio problems were fixed after, but there was no indication what caused it. Someone please help me before I spend all of my savings on a down payment to replace this SUV from hell. 5rebel9
Most likely the circuit board in the radio is going bad{cracked solder points}. For your year the radio unit is plug and play for same type replacement, should be lots of radio units{not the screen}available at wrecking yards. Not hard to take the center dash stack apart to get to the radio unit, lots of youtube videos that can help you along about this task. There is a CHANCE also that the HVAC/radio control panel may be going bad also, Good Luck and WELCOME TO THE FORUM! bjodway
Thank you for your response, and your greetings! Would that circuit board apply to the rest of the audio system too (aux, CDs)?
2late4u
when you remove the wire connector from the back of the radio make sure it was connected tight and that the pins are in good shape and making a tight connections to the other pins on the radio out side as well...also make sure the ground coming from the radio is good and tight as well

But to your further inquiry, YES depending on failure point IS on the board.
