2late4u Posted January 27, 2023 Report Share Posted January 27, 2023 well after 138 k miles and 9 yrs, i open the hood and my little black cap that covers the oil filter canister has flew the coop.... no big deal its just an unused twist off cap that doesn't do anything so i call the dealership and its a 10 days wait to get it and $18, for the piece, so i got to thinking since i am so cheap ill just take that old plastic polictail sign that i had standing in the corner and cut a round 6 inch circle ,and it fit down in the recessed hole just right and i have it drying with the some black paint right now and then plan on a few drops of silicone around the edge and i can also use 2-3 small finnish screws i have to give it a bit more hold down strength.
