Doesn't show gear number, only show D

Hi,

I just purchased a preowned Journey 2013, with 55600km mileage.

I found the centre dashboard doesn't show gear number when in D. I want to know which gear it is when driving, from 0km/h to 110km/h only D.

Does anyone know what's the reason?

Thank you!

are you driving with it in the auto selection? If driving in Drive ,then that is the only info you will get,,,,,or are you shifting it with the gear selector manually? I never have had heard of any other thoughts on this

Thank you for your fast reply!

Yes, I was driving in auto selection. When I pull down the auto stick from D to the - + zone while in Drive position, is it supposed to be in manual mode? If it is true, I tried today. No matter how I switch the stick to right + or left -, still D, no gear number showed.

Maybe something is malfunctioning with the 62TE, I can felt the auto transmission doesn't like to up gear but very like to down gear, the result is high engine rpm, like 3500rpm, even I only press the accelerator pedal very gently.

Tomorrow I will go to 郑州北环汽配大世界, hope I can find some machinist to diagnose it.

I forgot to mention I'm in China. Dodge Journey is a niche model here that few people know, so I came here :)

Thanks again!

to be honest i just went out and checked my 2014 crossroad 3.6 and when i go to the manual shift it does say D and  then when i push to the + it shows 1 and then as i accelerate it goes up 2,3,4, and so on

Thank you! I'll keep this thread updated when I find what's wrong in 62TE.
