Confused Posted April 5, 2022 Report Share Posted April 5, 2022 My Dodge Journey lift gate won't open I tried spraying penetrating oil through small rectangle access opening and under lift gate from the inside and each side of the handle from the outside and then tried turning white plastic (+) (- -) option through the access opening under the lift gate interior light and it didn't work is there any other suggestions. 2late4u Posted April 5, 2022 Report Share Posted April 5, 2022 just a thought did you use the unlock button in the front doors before you tried opening the hatch thur the opening??? you might run it by a local body shop for more help as they would have done such things before.... and i am sure you can't access the lock from the outside without butchering the metal Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
John/Horace Posted April 6, 2022 Report Share Posted April 6, 2022 Doors that have also have manual access lock actuator much easier to magyver open with their metal arm. This latch is cable only coming from handle. I would study the latch pics below and try using a piece of wire or coat hanger to try hooking latch pivot directly.
