Ken2010
Hi My 2010 Journey occasionally has problems starting I did have the recall for the keyfob ignition issue fixed under warranty but I continue to have the issue. When the problem occurs I get the following scenarios: a) turn key on and it tries to start but continually makes the noise like it should when it starts but goes on for several seconds before I turn it off Then once I try it again it makes the same sound for a second and starts normally B) try starting the car and it just clicks and does nothing. Sometimes when I retry to restart it it will start after one or 2 more attempts. When it doesn’t start I have to turn key to “ON” position and put the car in neutral and it will start right away. I have heard of a lot of different possible causes. Has anyone had this issue and found a fix? Thanks
John/Horace
How many miles? Which engine ? WAG would be crank position sensor. Doesn’t always set a code, fairly cheap wear item. Scan for codes even if no dash light, first.
Ken2010
Hi. It is a 3.5 with 141000 kilometres. There are no codes showing when scanned. I can go several days or longer without it happening then it appears so it is really random. This has been going on for a long time.

John/Horace
Crank position sensor strong possibility. Not expensive and a wear item.
