  1. Maybe since I don't have Nav, I don't have the 30 GB HD. Anyone that has an 8.4 with Nav: can you load music onto the HD, and play it back from the HD? All of the Mygigs had a 30 GB HD, with or w/o Nav! And, I basically am irate because I have a new car does not work the way it is intended. Initially, before the iOS8 upgrade, I spent hours on the phone with Apple. Four albums that I had just downloaded from the iTunes store, the art for 3 out of 4 did not display! Apple was very friendly. One of the techs even gave me her personal contact information so I could keep her in the loop. Apple determined it to be a Uconnect issue. Uconnect no longer does business with Gracenote. Gracenote is the company that translates the artwork into digital form. If Uconnect is supposed to display the art, why would they stop working with the company that creates the files? But, once these files are loaded on to an Apple device, they belong to Apple. Stupid. I spent hours at Best Buy talking to their Apple guru. Ultimately, he couldn't help me because the radio in his car does not display artwork! It was days before he told me this. Music is important enough to me, that if I could get my Nitro back, I would! It pisses me me off when something does not work the way it was intended.
  2. Can you tell me more about the 30 GB Hard Drive? The 2011 Nitro that I traded had an RBZ Mygig, with a 30 GB Hard Drive. I loaded all of my music on to the Hard Drive, and did not have to put up with all of the crap that I am dealing with now: no album art, no album title, shuffle button grayed out, etc. When my Dealer removed my 8.4" screen, along with parts of the dash, to install my rear view camera, there was a silver box back there that the camera harness plugged in to. All of the radio speaker and radio power harnesses plugged into this, also. Exactly like a Mygig. In fact, this silver box looked identical to a Mygig, except that it had no screen! Is is possible to trade the box that I have for one with a 30 gig HD? Is such a beast even available? Is this where the 30GB HD would be located? I was really ticked about this, because the salesman never told me that the 8.4 Uconnects did not have the 30 GB HD. As soon as I got my new DJ home, I was ready to reload my music. Alas, not to be. Now I am dealing with trying to play my music through the USB port, and nothing is working as it should. I am told by both Uconnect and Apple that it may be a couple of months for a fix. A couple of months? Are you kidding me? I loaded my music from my iTunes library on my computer to an SD card. No album artwork. So, I ditched that plan when I found out that the art becomes an Apple proprietary file and can not be downloaded to anything except another Apple product. It was cheaper for me to upgrade to a 32GB iPhone 5s, from a 16GB than to buy an iPod. Now, because of iOS8, iTunes and Uconnect no longer play nicely together, Only some of my art displayed before the upgrade; now, none of it does. This is the only thing that I really hate about my DJ. So, I just listen to Sirius until this is fixed. Had I known that there was no 30 GB HD in the Journey, it probably would have been a deal breaker for me. I intended to purchase a Cherokee Trailhawk, but, it has the same radio and cost $10,000 more!
  3. I also have the sensor in the middle of the dash, but no auto headlights. My 2006 Jeep Commander had them! Come on, Dodge; get with the program. I'm curious to know if this item can be added. I'll do whatever it takes to get them. I have to add a Katzkin heated seat, as these can not be added by Dodge. I do not understand this at all.
  4. Most of my album artwork displayed before iOS8. I spent many hours on the phone with Apple and they finally determined that it was a Uconnect problem. Now, none displays. Both Apple and Uconnect are working on a fix, but it may take a few months. The latest Uconnect software update did not do anything to solve this. Every one of my songs has the relayted artwork; both on my phone and in my iTunes Library. It should display, but it does not.
  5. My music is on my iPhone 5s. Initially, I had no issues with iTunes, except that some of the album artwork would not display. I updated my phone to iOS8 and everything went to hell, as far as music goes. The Uconnect will Not take directions from the phone. It always starts alphabetically by artist, no matter how i set the phone. The shuffle soft key on the radio is grayed out. None of my play lists are recognized, and it does drop songs. No artwork is displayed: just the title of the song, and not the artist or album. Uconnect is working on a fix as well as Apple, but it may take a few months. So, I just listen to Sirius!
  6. Welcome to the forum. I got my build sheet off this site. It is not in the same format for the one I got for my 2011 Dodge Nitro, but it works for me.
  7. Welcome to the forum. I'm finding that there is not a lot out there for "pimping"!
  8. Welcome to the forum. So far, no issues with my 2014 Copperhead Pearl beauty.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Are the resonators the square boxlike things right behind the tailpipes?
  10. My 2014 does not list the tow prep option. But I do have the V6 with an oil cooler and that connector by the spare tire. So, I guess that I am ready when I install my hitch and harness. Both will be Mopar, and I will have my Dealer do it.
  11. I will give it a shot for you. May not be until the weekend. I'm getting it undercoated today. They told me that it would take most of the day. Did you have a chance to compare your connectors to mine?
  12. Are there metal friction clips, or those funny plastic clips that look like little Christmas Trees holding the panel on, once I get the bolts out? I do not want to break it trying to get it off. :titanic:
  13. I have no idea how to get the cover off! The dealer had it off when they installed my camera. It's raining now. I took the other pictures just in time! It's supposed to rain through Sat AM. I'll see what I can do for you.
  14. Sorry, but I didn't want to pull the interior trim off of the hatch to see what type of connectors the inboard lights have, but I would guess that they would be similar, but with only 2 pins used since they are just tail lights.
  15. Are you saying that the little round map lights are LEDs?
  16. Well, here are the pictures, as promised. My memory is obviously failing me, as the connector that plugs into the light is not green, but purple with green grommets to keep out the water! Close! Here is the back of the LED light housing. You can see the shape of the connector, and the 3 pins. There is 12v going into the housing. You can see that the housing is stamped 12.8v. Here is the end of the harness that plugs into the housing. It has 6 receptacles but only 3 are used. Here is a top view of the connector. While I was waiting for my Dealer to update my radio, I walked through the lot. There were 8 or 9 DJs all in a line. They were all 2014s. Two had the old style tail lamps and the rest of them had LEDs. This is why I can not imagine that there would be 2 different harnesses. I'm curious to see if adding LEDs would be plug and play for the members that want to add them.
  17. All the cars listed have the engine mounted front to back, and it may be mounted lower in the chassis. Since the engine sits sideways in the Journey, there may not be enough hood clearance when this is installed. Just guessing!
  18. I have an appointment at the dealer this AM to get my radio upgraded. I'll take a picture when I get home.
  19. As soon as I saw the DJ that I purchased in late June, I wanted it. But, when I got it home I realized that I purchased it too soon. No heated seats and no AWD. I have been assured by the forum that FWD performs well in the snow. I know that I will get better mpg's without carrying around the extra weight of AWD. There is a local Katzkin installer here so I can add heated seats (also recommended by the forum). I settled on the Crossroad because I was immediately hooked on its looks. I did not even look at any other DJs. I did get an DJ Brochure and none of what is on the R/T is of any interest to me, when compared to the Crossroad. The Crossroad wasn't even in the brochure! Once I install my 255/50R19 tires, mine will look as aggressive as the Red prototype Crossroad that Dodge has been showing around the country, but I have the added benefit of a much better color, IMHO! Everyone of my friends are hooked on the looks of my DJ, and no one knew what it was until they saw the Dodge logo on the grill. The rest of the DJs must just blend in with traffic. GO FOR THE CROSSROAD! LOL
  20. The ballast for the LED tail lights is located in the lamp housing. There is 12v going to the lights, at the connector. My 2014 has a 3 wire green connector: white wire is brakes; white wire with silver stripe is tail light, black is ground. I have a 2014 Journey Sales Brochure. Standard bulbs are standard on the lowest priced models, and LED's are on the higher priced models. I can't believe that there would be 2 wire harnesses. The LED tail lights shoud be plug and play, IMHO What baffles me is that my window sticker says front and rear LED lights, but I am still unable to find the front LEDs!
  21. Welcome to the forum. I knew that Jeeps were sold in China, but not Dodges.
  22. Instead of all the wacky names that Chrysler has been using recently, and since they are dropping the Dodge Caravan, it might be wise for the new Chrysler minivan to come in 3 trim levels: Chrysler Voyager, Chrysler Caravan, and Chrysler Town and Country. This would give the new model links to the past, and not alienate past customers! Just a thought. If Dodge is to be the performance brand, all Dodges need to be RWD or AWD - I guess that 4WD has to be a Jeep only thing!
  23. With a FWD car, putting snow tires just on the rear seems odd, although I do understand the logic by what you posted. I'll wait until Winter gets here. I may be making a big deal out of nothing!
  24. Wow! Awesome response! Thank you very much. I am learning alot, concerning this subject.
