  1. hmmmm....same issue here.  Installed a new battery so thats not likely to be it.  I'm getting 140 milliamps draw which kills the battery charge, albiet slowly.  I also lost BT and I thought replacing that module would fix the BT as well as the parasitic draw.   I did get BT back, but still have 140 mA draw when off.

I disconnected the negative battery cable from the ground post on the vehicle, put my meter in series between the battery cable and ground post on the vehicle, removed all fuses in both locations (1 at a time), but did not change the 140 mA draw

Things that had happened prior to this issue, in case something might be related........

-replaced the passenger side speed sensor at the wheel

-went into limp mode after putting on the temporary use spare (passenger side rear axle) and then pressing the ESC OFF button on the dash, thinking that would turn the ESC system off since the diameters of the rear wheels were obviously way different.  Realized pressing the ESC OFF button seems to actually turn it on, because the car went into limp mode (still not sure I understand that button)

-fixed the severed wires leading to the rearview camera

-replace 1 bad (?) fuel injector and spark plug (misfire on middle cylinder closest to firewall) - also ran some magic fluid (lucas?) into gas tank

-oil change, new oil in rear diff, new cabin air filter

Any ideas what else to check?

  2. 2015 journey R/T.   Like many, camera started showing horizontal lines, then went back to  being ok, and finally crapped out completely. Installed a new camera unit but didn't fix anything. I do get power at the pink n yellow IGN R or "run relay control" pin #2 whether in reverse or not so power is going thru the fuse ok.  The ground (both pins 5 and 6) are good grounds. What voltage  should i get on  the "camera signal" dk grn/brn pin 4 and the "camera rtn" dk grn/ org  pin 3?   And which of these is activated when i shift into reverse? What  sensor  indicates 'vehicle is in reverse' and results in power going to camera signal (or is it camera return?). TIA

First of all they will not reload your map.  They aren't provided the tool and it takes too long because they haven't learned to multitask and it takes almost 2 hours to execute the reload.

So they will swap out your radio for one that has been reloaded at some other location.  And it will likely crap out again, because radios that HAVE crapped out are more likely susceptible to the memory corruption that occurs.

Reloading your own will ultimately save you time.

Sending a PM to discuss implementing the fix you have

    well, the PM didn't go, so here's a cut/paste

Good morning, been waiting for 3 weeks for dealer to get replacement radio unit, that I have little confidence will fix my 'cant load maps' issue anyway.

My email is davehansen459@gmail.com, my unit has the versions you mention are required, can you let me know what I need to do to apply your fix?

    thanks in advance

  4. 2015 R/T.   Nav has been working great until last week.    I see R65 was performed on my vehicle last Jan 2016 even tho I was not having nav issues back then.  The dealer must have seen my vehicle was included and performed it - kudos for that..  And yet the 'can't unlock maps' error happened last week.  At the dealer now to fix.

So if I'm understanding this thread, a map reload should bring me back to normal operation, and is preferred over a radio swap which may get me an old radio running older firmware than what I have now.

So if they do reload maps (not convinced they will) this could happen again, since R65 has been done last Jan.  Does this sound right?

  5. I, too, am trying to install a Mopar hitch on my 2014 Crossroad. If I go to the Dodge web site, and go to Owners; then Accessories, it say that the Mopar hitch will not fit any Crossroad.

The part number for the hitch is 82213561. I googled this P/N, and a whole bunch of Dealers popped up. Each one said this hitch will fit the Crossroad; 2014 and 2015.

My Dealer says that the Mopar hitch will fit, but they cut out a piece of the lower bumper and install a black nasell that also has the 7 pin round connector attached, to give it a finished look. Just like on my Nitro. Journeyman425 just posted a picture, on another thread, of his DJ with the Mopar hitch, and the receiver is below the bottom of the bumper. So now I am really confused. On ebay, I searched Dodge Journey Mopar Hitch and one of the Dealers actually has a picture as the guys at my dealership described; the hitch is up in the bottom section of the bumper with a 7 pin round receptacle.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRAILER-HITCH-RECEIVER-09-15-DODGE-JOURNEY-OEM-BRAND-NEW-/181694950403?fits=Make%3ADodge|Model%3AJourney&hash=item2a4ddcec03&vxp=mtr

That's the correct p/n for the stealth hitch. Journeyman425 has a different style, as you mentioned. The stealth style has a 2" receiver that is oriented vertically, not horizontally. So you slso purchase a 90° insert, mopar p/n 82213549, that insets one end into the vertical portion of the hitch, and is secured by a pin. The other end, after it turns 90°, pokes out thru the cutout in the bumper, and presents a 2" receiver for inserting a bike rack or ball mount or rack or? Then life is good

  6. I found a local shop (Los Angeles) that only does hitches, all custom. It costs me $280 and will take about 2 hours. Saw photo's of Journeys they had done. They will cut out a square on the bottom of the rear fascia and the end of the hitch will protrude out of the fascia. Very clean look and not very noticeable either.

    Any pics of this?
