  1. Hello everybody. It was a great two years of ride with DJ. A lot has happened in the life and with the car. I've had mixed feelings leaving DJ at the dealership. Great car that can handle almost everything you throw into it, but I'm off to another ride. Thank you folks for keeping the forum live - i referred to the forum for experience and inspiration, even though admittedly haven't contributed enough to the forum.

All the best to all DJ owners and see you in this big small world!

  2. After making a research (including this forum members survey), I found this working the best for me:

Minimalistic and clean sight. One issue - they use proprietary charging cable, so you have to decide micro USB or lightning, but not all cords will fit into the bracket. The seller replaced my cord for free, though (I'm not affiliated with the seller).

Also tried cupholder mounting solution, but switched to the above.

  3. Have the les tail lights is a plus when tinting them. I got my wife to drive down the road and still from two blocks away can see the break lights perfectly. Last night was at a meet and a cop showed up and said he liked how the journey looks for being a manvan lol. He said I shouldn't have issues. I tested them I front of him just to be sure. Time will tell I guess haha

Do what you want to your car and let others have their own opinion :)

I've had mine VHT tinted for a year with no issues, BUT I have lower reflectors converted into breaks:turns as well. So in total I have five break lights (2 lower + 2 middle + 1 high). Hope even the oldest dudes can see at least one of them LOL

  4. I'm not a big fan... it distorts the LEDs and the flat black look just doesn't look finished to me. A vinyl film or spray tint that is shiny would look much better IMHO.

This was the reason why I ended up with VHT coating. Tried plastidip, vynil wrap and the clear coat.

Plasti dip - easy to apply and remove, but distorts the light - not "clean" look

Vynil wrap - the best look, high visibility of the light when lit together with black out look. The best look, but hard to apply on curved lights. I didn't manage to wrap without bubbles, so eventually removed.

VHT - easy to apply. No light distortion, but reduces the level of light emission IMHO. Not completely blacked out look (I was looking for black out), but definitely darker than stock.

All in all - VHT was the best solution for me.

  5. Radar display eh? Haven't seen that.

    Yep, phone as display: http://www.amazon.com/Escort-0100014-1-SmartRadar-iPhone-Version/dp/B008LXRA7E

I use mine for nav too, the voice comes over the speakers and tells me what I need to know while I am streaming over bluetooth.

Siri doesn't like my accent and voice activated systems never understand me :) Besides, I don't like them telling me what to do :)

I have a sticky pad on the back of my sunvisor that holds

my Samsung Tab 4 for nav.

    This is neat :)

I'm not aware of solutions like app launcher for iPhone. NFC is still not allowed by Apple as well. There some roundabout solutions to make this working, but they are way too more complicated on iPhone.
