  1. I wouldn't start pulling stuff off if it were mine. A lot of Factory R&D goes into cars these days and I can assure you that everything was put there for a reason. Your computer is designed to run with this felt tube and by pulling it out you run the risk of throwing your computer out, or worse, you could void your warranty.
  2. Wow, Nina is one hot momma Nice ride Benny!!
  3. Her fuel mileage is just better than yours. DTE is calculated by average fuel mileage via the computer until its reset, and even then your mileage might be different than hers. The less you reset it the more accurate it will read. You don't necessarily have to be lead footed to get bad gas mileage. Long warm ups, lots of traffic and several other factors can determine your fuel mileage. Reset it while your traveling "steady" for the highest possible readout (not while in the driveway or traffic). After that don't reset it for a while. If you can maintain that high number as long as possible it should boost your DTE to a higher number. If your needle is close to full and you are getting close to 20 gallons of fuel when empty, then I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck
  4. I agree, everyone should own a scanner these days. An inexpensive way to keep mechanics honest and in some cases save money by doing the small things yourself.
  5. Man I love ebay!! Under $200 for all that is impressive. Looks of very nice quality to. Looks great man!! Thanks for sharing
  6. I believe the early 12's did have head problems. I don't believe they changed the head design until mid 2012. That's what the Dealer told me.
  7. Completely normal, your engine is achieving complete combustion. I notice it more after short driving distances.
  8. Sorry if I find your posts a little offensive. I was out of line. Sorry you've had problems, I wish you good luck in the future.
  9. Wishing rust on members cars is bashing IMO.
  10. You could try a hair dryer. But as J said, just wet sand it with some 400 grit and paint over it. Adhesion Promoter comes in a can and it really helps when painting plastic. I did the grill on my Chevy truck about 3 yrs ago and it still looks great. Or you can always Plasti Dip it if you don't want to use paint. If you don't like it just peel it off!!
  11. Journeyman, I must say that you are one good dude!! After working on houses all day I must admit the last thing I want to do is go home and talk houses with other people. You are obviously a caring person and I would like to say "Thank You" for all your dedication to helping people in need. We need more people like you in the auto industry these days. Sorry to go off topic and sound a little sappy. Just giving praise where praise is due!!
  12. Exactly what I thought. It came that way. Meaning the due diligence that "you" as a buyer should have done before buying it. Instead of spamming the website with bogus youtube videos, maybe you should lay blame on yourself and look at what you did wrong instead of coming to a forum and bashing people who have nothing to do with your problems.
  13. Congrats, hope you enjoy your Journey as much as I have.
  14. Kinda funny how the 80's and early 90's were so depressing as far as HP goes. My 91 model Chevy truck with the 5.7 is rated at 190hp. My Journey would run off and leave it in the dust. And my wifes T&C minivan is almost as quick as the Journey. Love them Pentastars!!
  15. Definitely not just you! I was the same way and it blew my mind the battery was behind the wheel well. But the oil filter is a really nice feature, makes for an easy change without the mess.
  16. Welcome to the forum. Pearl White is pretty nice, mine still looks new after a good wash (which occurs less often as time goes on) . I have noticed a few spots on my rear bumper that just wont come off but other than that I have been pleased with the white. I cant say I have noticed a difference in color but now that you have mentioned it I will give a look after its next wash. Good luck with your Journey.
  17. 1 week old? C'mon man, seriously? What the hell are you people doing to your poor cars? Mine looks nothing like this!!
  18. Welcome to the forum. That's a sweet looking Journey!!
  19. Hate to hear that. Been in your shoes before as well. I finally let it be a lesson to myself to read everything thoroughly before signing anything IMO, I would contact an owner or someone with customer relations and let them know your situation. I have found being polite and friendly goes a long way also. If they are committed to making customers happy then they should be willing to help you. If you have something in writing then I would bring it to their attention that they are in violation of contract. If not, then you might have to take this one on the chin and chalk it up as an expensive lesson learned. I hate to say that but I am just speaking of my experience with car negotiations. Once you sign you lose all leverage to get what you were promised. Good luck I hope you can get the results you are looking for. BTW, welcome to the forum
  20. Nice impression!! Glad to hear you have had a great experience. Good luck in the future.
  21. I now have 26k miles on my 2012 Journey SXT. I have owned it for a year and a half already. I have rotated my tires 3 times, changed the oil 4 times, cleaned and inspected the brakes (almost good as new), and changed my front wiper blades (I try to do all my own servicing when possible). Other than that I haven't had any issues at all with my Journey. Its been great!! My Kuhmos are starting to show some wear but I should be good til next year, I am actually looking forward to putting a better quality tire on, but for now I will milk these Kuhmos for all they are worth. I originally bought the Journey for my wife and kids, but we soon realized that the Journey was a little small for our needs. So I bought her a new T&C a few months after purchasing our Journey. I didn't want to take a big loss so I just kept the Journey as a backup. To my surprise the damn thing started growing on me!! I was always a truck man, and had no interest in making our Journey my daily driver. But the past year has been all Journey for me. I save a ton in gas and it is so much easier to park. While there are some things that annoy me with the Journey, I can honestly say that "my" Journey has been surprisingly fun to own so far. This has been my experience for what its worth, so thanks for reading my long post.
  22. I think the Kuhmos contribute a lot of problems to the new Journeys, especially with AWD. I have had good luck with mine (I have them on my Journey and the wifes Town & Country). But I am not driving in the same conditions as you are up north and I don't have the AWD. Both Kuhmo and AWD seem to be hot topics here. You might have solved a lot of peoples concerns. I have noticed a little more pressure needed on my pedal as well when cold, but I definitely wasn't having to stand on it.
