  1. I'm at a loss as to why the dealer would decline the repairs. Are the warranty conditions the same in Bazil as they are in the U.S.? As in, do you have a 58,000km bumper to bumper warranty, and a 160,000km powertrain warranty as we have?
  2. Welcome! What color is your R/T?
  3. Nice!!! So you installed one Flowmaster, and ran twin pipes to the rear? How exactly is the exhaust set up? Are those mufflers or resonators that are closest to the rear bumper cover?
  4. A good video is a must!!!! I've been wanting to hear a Journey with aftermarket mufflers.
  5. The early 3.6's that had the cylinder #2 misfire, have consistently had the head on that side of the engine replaced. It will be covered under your warranty, and it will also be fine for you to drive on until it gets replaced. I've been driving mine for the past 2 weeks, waiting on the head that is on back order. The only issues are what you stated, a little lag, slightly rough idle at times, and possibly degraded fuel mileage. Good thing is, got the call today that the head is in, and now I just have to go drop the Journey off at the dealer.
  6. Well, the heads are on back order, and I went to the dealer to pick the Journey up while I wait on it to come in. They did the reflash for the rough transmission shifts, and it shifts perfectly now! Can't hardly even feel the shifts, unless I have it floored. And there is no downshift hesitation anymore when I'm at highway speeds, and press the has to pass someone! I'm very happy with that, but hope that the head comes in soon.
  7. webslave makes a very good point! The R/T's grill is just painted to match the color of the car, instead of chromed, then painted. The chrome isn't really an ideal painting surface.
  8. I haven't heard anything from the dealer yet on the status of my car, therefore haven't called Chrysler customer service yet, concerning rental reimbursement. I hope we both figure out some kind of way of getting this taken care of.
  9. Dropped the Journey off at Jim Burke Dodge today, and picked up my rental. I'm in a 2013 V6 Charger. I wanted something similar to the Journey, and that was the closest they had. Thankfully, they sounded well aware of the complaints/issues that I was having. That was pretty comforting to find out about.
  10. This is good info to hear. Thank you very much for offering the information that you offer to us. The dealer that I work with (Jim Burke) in Birmingham, AL has a rental discount set up with Enterprise, but I do feel that with this issue being a warranty coverage issue, that I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket just to have a vehicle to drive while the Journey is in the shop.
  11. I really like the way those look, but I haven't seen a Journey with them on it yet. Most people that have them here in Alabama, just use the Journey as a commuter vehicle. I take mine on light trails a pretty good bit, but I haven't seen anyone else that even does that. I do have the V6 SXT AWD. I saw someone else talking about getting 16" "offroadish" rims, and putting slightly more aggressive tires on it, in order to have a more aggressive look. I've thought about doing that same thing, but the roads here in Birmingham are a big part of me wanting to do that. Lots of people get slightly bent rims here, because of the potholes in the city, and more sidewall on the tire would help keep that from happening.
  12. 2late4u, where do you get that they are required to provide a loaner??? I am about to have to have my car at the dealer for a few days, and if that is the case, then I would like to know for sure if they are required to provide a loaner before I rent a car.
  13. That's good to hear That's good to hear! I talked to someone in the service center at Jim Burke Dodge in Birmingham today, and he was very helpful, and told me that they even have a deal worked out with Enterprise Rent-a-Car for $35/day rentals for any repairs, no matter what the warranty status is of the vehicle. He did recommend that I bring the Journey in first thing Monday morning, as that would be the best/fastest way for them to diagnose, order, receive, and install parts, for whatever the issue is, so that I would be without the Journey for as short a period of time as possible. So wish me luck guys!
  14. What kind of M do you have JourneyMan? I've had a '99 red, an '03 silver, and '02 silver. I'm with you on them being great cars! I really miss my '02. I sold it when I bought the Journey. Are you a member over on 300Mclub.org ?
  15. I just got the check engine light with the same code showing up, and having the rough transmission shifts. I just got off the phone with the dealer, and they told me that TSB's are only covered under the 36,000 mile warranty, and I am at 39,000 miles. If that true??? That is absolutely ridiculous if that is the case. Faulty software is no different from faulty mechanical parts, and should be covered under the same warranty as the power train's 100,000 mile warranty. Anyway, all of the dealerships in Birmingham, AL are backed up with work, and appointments have to be made, to even be able to get your car in to be looked at. So this is getting kinda aggravating.
  16. I will never use mine. It's stood in the corner of my storage room from the day I bought the Journey. PM me if your interested.
  17. The Journey has a 5 x 5" bolt pattern with a high offset. For some reason, rims shops always seem to say that the rim selection for the Journey is pretty slim.
  18. Myself having the obvious idea that people can call their own vehicle whatever they want to call it, somehow equates to me having personal issues? But you directly stated that "It bothers me when CUV's and SUV's are referred to as trucks,".Hmm. Yea, I'm a real basket case dude. ;-) But maybe I should clarify that the "you" that I used in my statement was a general "you", and not directed at any individual.
  19. What it really boils down to is, if what someone else calls their own vehicle really bothers you, then you have issues of your own that need to be dealt with. As for me, I'll keep calling my Journey "my truck", because I'm the one that's paying for it. Hahaha.
  20. Technically all a "truck" is, in the sense that you are using it is, "a wheeled, motorized vehicle meant for transporting goods/freight". So by that definition, the Journey is a truck. But also a minivan, Silverado, station wagons, and compact passenger vehicles, can also be "trucks". Haha.
  21. My 2012 SXT doesn't have the storage compartment in the front passenger seat. :-(
  22. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/8-inch-600MHZ-3G-8-VCD-PIP-MP5-car-DVD-player-for-FIAT-LEAP-FREEMONT-Dodge/693681172.html I'm purchasing this unit for my 2012 DJ. This is the aftermarket unit that Mcgusto82 was talking about earlier.
  23. By the way, I moved a massive, overstuffed chase lounge chair in my Journey this weekend. So I'm assuming that a standard size fridge will fit.
  24. Width and depth is what u need. The Journey rear door opening is 40" wide, can't recall how tall tho. And contrary to popular belief, it does not destroy a refrigerator to lay it on it's back. Just let it stand upright for a few hours before you plug it in, so that the Freon and oil can settle back into their proper places.
  25. Good to hear. I'm not getting the hitch to do any serious hauling. What I will typically have on the hitch would be a dual bike rack.
