What kind of MPG's are you getting- US owners
WOLF replied to 04redmach1's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
i, am in the UK and get on average 38 mpg, but i do have the 2.0L diesel SXT... best was 52.8mpg at a steady 56mph...... ops sorry guys.... -
as an EX- UK firefighter, i too saw many a road traffic accident.... however , and not wishing to en-flame (pun intended) the discussion any further, i DO NOT WEAR a seat belt, and in the UK ,you have to have a medical reason NOT to wear one, and have a certificate to prove so ( or the Police fine you) .. i have the medical certificate, why... because my spine was damaged by a driver doing a "U" turn on the motorway (Highway/Freeway) when i was passing at 70mph, and i "T" boned the madman!!!!! and it was the seatbelt , that caused my injuries... vertibrae 3,4,5,6 & 7 damaged , fractured ribs, and a couple of other broken bones... and if it was not for a kind and brave police officer, who cut the belt(WHICH HAD LOCKED/JAMMED) and dragged me out, i would be have been TOAST long ago....not just toasted legs.... but that was over 20 years ago now.. and i still can not wear a belt, as the motion of the belt stopping me, would possibly paralyse me from the neck down, ok i can colide with the windshield, but hey! i don't have great looks , so i am not worried there..LOL! and yes the seat belt alarm drove me mad,(we get the "Bing" noise in the UK) , so had my dealer de-activate it... nice and quiet now...

great find... thanks...........

yes you can, you need your dealer to get the dealer fit ones UK part Number 82211460 for this you will get 2 off main rails, fitting kit and 2 off cross rails... only colour is black, but they are good, had them fitted to mine at point of purchase, they are ALL METAL as well, not cheapy plastic cross rails like some i could mention

04redmach1... i was worried about my Journeys interior , but seeing as i DID NOT want a van or an other pick up (already have one of those) i had little choice as mainly Euro boxes or Jp 7 seaters in the UK... but i use my Journey as a working vehicle, and as a Joiner it has had woods of various lengths etc in it, on it, and almost under it! , even furniture i have made..... the portable saw table fits fab in the back... along with all the tool boxes, and i have staff who when helping load it don't seem to care its the bosses vehicle... but apart from the saw dust in the rear carpets the interior is holding up brilliant so far with out a mark on it... the interior is fine, just a shame ive had a few probs with mine, but according to Dodge UK HQ, all sorted now.... but then thats what warranties are for!!! i get mine back tomorrow ... and will be going

Hi i have the standard cross bars (stock bars) and they are as tough as old boots, great for just general working, had large and very long ladders on mine a few times, odd bit of lumber etc, and the nice trick is they have hook ends for putting the rubber bungee style straps to when you want to hold things down... and i must admit, that they make no difference in wind noise or mpg! makes a change, but they do seem to be well designed!!! hope this helps
-
hate to say this, but i managed before it went back (AGAIN) a staggeringly good 52.8MPG ... but that is from a UK spec'd CRD SXT DIESEL , and at a steady 50MPH over many miles on one trip!!

Does anyone know by chance, if this TSB applies to the 6 speed MANUAL transmission, as i am having loads of probs with the 6 speed on my Diesel Journey, trouble getting 1st to 2nd , 2nd to 3rd, and constant clutch noises when engaging these gears.....

Third Row Passenger Seats — Seven Passenger Models These head restraints are non-adjustable and nonremovable. However, you can fold them forward when they are not in use by passengers. Refer to “50/50 Split Third-Row Passenger Seats with Fold-Flat Feature” for operating instructions. AND THIS IS AS FOLLOWS To Unfold the Seat Grasp the assist strap loop on the seatback and pull it toward you to raise the seatback. Continue to raise the seatback until it locks in place. Then, IT is at this stage that you DO NOT RAISE the head restarint (UNLESS THE SEAT IS TO BE USED) raise the head restraint to lock it in place. The seatback can also be locked in a reclined position. To do so, pull the latch release-loop located at the top of the seatback upward, allow the seatback to recline, and release the release-loop.

wanna make your journey better all round, then pm me dear chap, and i will point you in the right direction..... the 2.0l tdi we have is ripe for the diesel tuning, and not the evo stuff either... better torque, huge acceleration difference and also if you want it, better mpg, and the euro based Journies are Imperial UK gallon calibrated!!!

I really do think they are wonderful vehicles, fits me and my business perfectly ................. but in 3450-ish miles and a little over 4 months it has had 5 major breakdowns... and it is still in the garage now... getting feed up and asked for a replacement.......
-
