Hi Folks, another piece of info for you all... due to an accident many years ago i am exempt from having to wear my seat belt, (which by law is compulsary over here in the U.K... unless you have an exemption certificate) and so things such as the constant chiming of the seat belt alarm are very annoying...to me, in my Caliber it can be turned off via the E.V.I.C. settings but the Journey requires a visist to your dealer.... who can with the aid of the plug in Scantool unit, put a stop to the chime, but the warning light will stay on..... so if you are belt exempt this little helpful tip can be carried out..... and to stop wasting our/your time, sort it out when you are having a service carried out!!! i have the stainless steel ribbed version for my Cally, and has it stopped loads of damage by the likes of Mrs Wolf and her shopping bags and the grandkids stuff!! only paid about£35 ( $60) for it about 18 months ago,and it was NOT an OEM item either....

the cooling fan is constantly running, even from first starting on a cold and frosty morning.... its the 2.0L Diesel, SXT any one else had a similar problem!!! with their petrol versions............

i have the 2,0L turbo Diesel, and at the moment(not yet run in!!!! only 1000 miles on it!!!) i am getting a great return for such a large vehicle, of between 28mpg and on motorway work (highway/interstate) i am getting around 46-8mpg at a steady 65mph.............

this happens on my UK Journey, and was told it helps to vent the initial blast of hot air when left parked on a very sunny day..(no hope of that in the UK then!! LOL!!!) you just let the windows go down when you approach the vehicle on a hot day, and it takes some of the sting out of the first blast you normally get when you open the door/s... seems like a sensible idea to me!!!

bit of info, my UKJourney has a very tall P/Steering resevoir, and does NOT make any noises, so they must be retro fitting these now or just fitting the taller units at the factory!!

a power steering pump, will make a lot of noise when the steering is on full lock, due to trying to pump fluid, when it is unable to do so!!!! think about it folks, you can only get so much fluid to fit into one end of a cylinder at a time, any more and it would leak, and so the pump strains and the bypass valve (if one is fitted) will come in to play, until you turn the steering again!! not having had a chance to look, i am not 100% sure what sort of system is fitted to the Journey, but they all work basically the same....

OK! it started wen i picked up my Journey (called "Grey Wolf") the sensors for the brake fluid level and the fuel gauge were not working , but due to being un available and me needing the Vehicle for wrk, i took it as is.... whilst i waited for my dealer to get the parts...at 362 miles on the clock, when a badly factory fitted hose came off due to the pressure at the inter cooler end, tearing the hose and dumping all the coolant water out in to the front bumper (Fender???) and all came to a halt as soon as i could safetly stop...i had seen the temperature gauge rise rapidly, but no warning lights came on!!! it was at this popint that the alarm system gave up working correctly as well, switching on and off when it felt like it, and also just going off when not set.... whic made waiting for the recovery truck a noisey experience to say the least!!!! :rolleyes: :rolleyes: Dodge Assist were very good, and soon had my Journey recovered to the dealers via a flat bed recovery truck, and i had various C,J,D vehicles whilst i waited!!! whilst at the dealers, they found that, if the fuel gauage sensor is not working, it masks the fact that the fuelpump/tank sensor may also be malfuctioning..... which it was, and so a new fuel tank complete with pump and pump sensor was ordered, the over heating sensor was found to be temeramental also, and was replaced...along with the various brake fluid and brake system sensors.... other sensors needed to be reset on the starscan tool at the dealers where they had shut down.... and when running diagnostics it was found that the Mygig unit was not working properly, and was swapped out also, and at the same time a complete alarm system was swapped also.............. However, i now have Her back again , and she has been trouble free, and i must say, she is a joy to drive, and as a vehicle for company use, with all my specialist tooling in the back she make a perfect working tool!!! and even after the fiasco discribed above i am still glad i got her!!!!!!!!! all the best from the UK!!!

i am from the UK, and pop in almost daily, i have had lots of probs with mine but they have all been sorted by the dealer.... £6500 worth, and will list what later.

just for interest people, in the air intake is a potentiometer, which includes a solonoid!! this may be "clicking/ticking" if it does not know which way to go!!
