  1. Double07 I too have the same problem from time to time with the navigation on the 8.4 system. The symptom is that the nav sceen only shows tan. You will see the Street at the top, the direction in the bottom left. In the bottom right the speed is all there as normal. The top and bottom items work as they should and will change as the car drives. You have no blue triangle for your vehicle and no map. When this happens to me it seems that it happens when the system is booting into maps. So after a car start or when switching to maps. The fix for me has been either: 1. Shut off the vehicle. You need to wait until the dash lights and everything go out before the restart. 2. I have had success with switching between climate wait a minute then go into map. It reboots maps at that point for me. I can tell if it worked when I see the Garmin image, then I know it is rebooting. Item two the Climate button is the only button that seems to work for me. The others do not help. I do have a picture of the screen in the no maps state.
  2. Yes I saw the same a looked into it sometime ago. Navtraffic and Navweather is available under subscription with Sirius and XM. It is available in the US and not Canada. I am still under the 1 year free trial and was in the US recently. I could not set it up while I was there.
  3. welcome to the forum. Sounds like you love your Journey like I do. I like the mileage as well. I am driving the V6. It is better than my last car. Up in Canada mileage is important because on average gas is $4.76 a US gallon.
  4. Welcome to the forum. What model did you get a Crew or R/T? There are many things out there you can do to customize your Journey. my additions are: AVS Bug and wind deflector AVS wind deflector for around the sunroof Rubber mat in the back. There other sections here where you can find other ideas.
  5. Mine works as drb227 posted. However the voice and the EVIC showing up does not always match. The EVIC usually starts to show the turn first. Also one other thing to consider. If you press any button normally used for EVIC the turn or Nav message will disappear from EVIC. It may or may it come back on for that turn or fork in the road sending on how early it was telling you. There are some differences in the Nav for the US and Canada i have also noticed. They work the same but when I cross the border I get the speed limit show up. On Canadian roads we do not get that message. Funny thing is the speed you are traveling shows up as red if you are over the posted limit. Driving in Canada we seem to have more of the images that show up of the highway signs then when driving in the US. One final difference is in the US you can get the weather and gas prices. That service is not available in Canada.
  6. I am glad to see it is finally on its way. I remember the wait I had. It nearly killed me. Anyway I assure you it is worth the wait. Took my to Disney World. Handled great. Good milage. No complaints at all. I have seen one other journey down here and it was from Ontario. Too funny. Just not very many here.
  7. I am not sure why there are so many Canadians. However, we are a social lot. This also might help explain: The Journey does sell well in Canada. The last sales figures on Wiki has Canadians buying half as many than are bought in America. Yet Canada only has 35 million people. Compared to 313 million for the US. The Journey is a good vehicle for our climate. Good in snow.
  8. Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy the Crew. I love mine. I have never had leather so I can't answer question 1. The engine is 3.6 liter. The break in information is very short? it is on page 89 of the owners manual. According to the manual the first oil change is at 6. Months or 13000km. The vibration if it is out of balance could be rebalanced by the dealer. You can be 235/55 r 19. Dodge has approved that as a replacement. There are other posts on tires. Yes they are very rare only Kumho makes that size. Lots of choice at the alternative size.
  9. Double07 It took mine 13 weeks. That is 91 days. So a hundred seems reasonable. On another forum the 8.4 inch screen appears available for order and installation from Dodge. It was in a parts magazine for April. So I doubt that is the cause. My guess is it is high sales of the journey combined with the Fiat 500 production. They are both made at the same plant. The wait is worth it. Hang in there.
  10. Double 07 Just keep bugging the salesperson. As a Canadian that is your only way to track it. They will be able to tell you a VIN. They will be able to tell you the scheduled build date. When it was built. That it was shipped. After that they can't really get any information other than the ETA. VOTS only works for US orders. Forget about Chrysler Canada Customer Service they can't tell you anything. Just the dealer. Once the car is built and at the dealer. You can see the service manager and they can print the build codes which is a list of all the codes the factory used to build your Journey.
  11. Welcome and congratulations. I too love my 2012 Crew. The Journey offers great value. So no need to look any further.
  12. Welcome and congratulations. I love my 2012 Crew. Ordered it in early December. I got it March 15th, about 13 weeks later. It was worth the wait. But, I had to have the Nav and a sunroof. There are lots of Canadians on the site.
  13. I ordered Dec 9th. It was built Feb 13th and was delivered to me Mar 14th.
  14. Double07 Only the dealer can track Canadian orders. VOTS does not work on Canadian orders. Chrysler Canada can't tell you anything either. I did pick up my 2012 Crew yesterday. It was well worth the wait. It took mine nearly 13 weeks to get to Hamilton.
  15. Not all the SXT models would have the Flip N Stow seats. It would be an option. They are standard on the Crew and the R/T. They also fold down flat for longer loads. page 254 of the 2012 owners manual shows where the loop should be. Basically at the back of the bottom cushion. I would show you on mine, but the dealer can't find it. So i am still waiting.
  16. Rub it in. I knew I should have bought it in Toronto. Apparently Toronto is about 5 weeks closer than Hamilton. At least according to Dodge's delivery schedule. Funny part is it likely has been in Toronto for awhile. If only I knew where.......
  17. I travel often to Calgary for work for weeks at a time. I read the Calgary Sun. Seems to me like the folks that way have not figured out that drinking and driving don't mix. There many cases of that on hwy 2. We even lost a coworker in an accident like the one above. Sad. I completely agree that defensive driving is far better than relying on the vehicle to save your life. So here are the Five Seeing Habits 1. Aim high in steering. 2. Get the big picture. 3. Keep your eyes moving. 4. Leave yourself an out. 5. Make sure they see you.
  18. Mine should have the same Dodge logo. I seen them today on some that arrived at the dealer. Mine was ordered Dec 9th. It was built Feb 13 th, It did not get on the train the same day. The ETA to the dealer was today, The wait is killing me. 12 1/2 weeks and still waiting.

Nice lights. How did you do it?
  20. Welcome to the forum.
  21. Welcome Double07 It seems the orders in Nov averaged about 10 weeks. Orders in Dec slowed to 12-13 weeks. I am not sure what slowdown was. Sales were up or they were making more Fiat 500's. You might find VOTS which is an order tracking system. Don't waste your time. It does not work for Canadian orders. Call customer care, and they can't tell you anything either. The only tracking you will have is by calling your dealer. They are the only ones that can track your order. My 2012 is built and shipped the ETA is march 6th. Which is just over 12 weeks to Hamilton Ont from the order date.

Congratulations Sill waiting for mine. It should arrive March 6th. It was built Feb 13th. It was ordered Dec 9th. Sooooo long to wait.
  23. Jag: I ordered Dec 9th. It was built Feb 13th. It is still in transit. Estimated arrival March 6th. I was told 12 weeks. It should be over that by a week.
