    My other toy....

My other ride. Have to say.... A lot more fun to drive... Ride than my truck... Yes a truck...
  2. Have the same issue... -40 not starting, etc. Dash lights dim missing key fob etc. Went in today and they were blaming my SD card in the dash. They flashed the HF module and told me to take out the SD card when the engine is not on..... Somehow I wonder.... Build date Dec 30 2011... DJ 2012 When I mentioned the bcm issue with the consultant he seemed reluctant to take ANY advice OR input from me... Arrogant and I'm not anywhere closer to fixing this issue.
  3. Mine was like that for the first 3000 - 4000 km.. still get the occasional shutter here and there, but seems to be doing it less and less.
  4. I could defend myself here and probably throw in about 250 words of law from the highway traffic act of ontario regarding section 142(1) - Lane changes / Turns and/or caselaw (that tells u that the person who makes a lane change has an onus to make sure it's done in safety and does not affect the flow of traffic). I'm not going to.. i'm assuming you have the competence to find read interpret sections of law... You'll make your own assumptions and interpretations about the law anyways. People are inherintly stubborn and no matter how much I can recite it won't help him see the light. What I am going to say is I origionally posted these videos just for enjoyment, but now I'm rather irritated at a certain member of the forum. Long time ago, I was a member of other forums aswell; and always ran into flamers, people who think they know it all, but don't, Arm chair quarterbacks and people deliberately looking to embarrass another to make them seem to be more better, to their eyes; and seemed to have found all of this in one member! Quite the catch I guess. So, the videos are going down, mods need to lock this thread; or possibly even delete. I was going to post something constructive here but I have too many things to worry about and as I said before; people are stubborn and only want to see what they want to see. So; to this person; yes I may have done what APPEARED a ROLLING stop at approx 2-3 kmh infront of a police car (and if you didn't see) a cop walking down the ramp there; you'd think if I blew it, they would of stopped me maybe? Yes I did stay in the left lane; cause I was intending to make a left turn to mavis, but decided to go to heurontario which was further down because of a red left turn light; when traffic was extremely light and doing slightly faster (+10km) than the speed limit. And yes I could of slammed on my brakes; dropping my speed to almost 0 to let that ADT van in; so I could get hit by the cube truck behind me (too bad I didn't have a rearward facing camera, it would of been good footage of how the journey would sustain a rear ender). Touchdown... that's all folks (arm char quarterback referal here)... By the way. Welcome to my ignore list.
  5. Would of been his fault.. and I'd have the footage to prove it... I purchased my dash cam back at Canadacomputers when it was on sale. http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=37_497&item_id=046436 Right now this is the one that is onsale. I have a higher version that records in full 1080p but is no longer offered, but 720 is far good enough resolution. Mine is simply plug and play. suction cup to the windshield, and plug into the cig outlet. voila!

  7. mine does that when I am coming to a stop too... feels like the trannie going from second into first roughly.. does it most of the time, but not always.
  8. my co-worker has a 2011 dodge journey sxt, and I have a 2012 sxt aswell.. the same colour.. I walked up to his car tried to open the door, no luck.. pulled the handle atleast 2 times. started cursing and swearing.. then he came out and thought I was trying to get into his car....
  9. yes I just checked the owners manual myself.... not happy with that dealership (team chrysler).. but none-the-less, I will not go up to 13000 KM's on an oil change.... The max I'd go is 8000 or 6 months.
  10. Wow this car is going to be the most expensive vehicle I have ever had to maintain. Just got off the phone with the dealer, and they told me they don't care what oil I use, and that it's 3 months or 5000 km's according to manufacturer's specifications, for warranty purposes... Amsoil is REALLY going to make a killing off me!! since my first oil chance in may (after putting on 3000 km on origional oil), I've put 2000 KM on the car (and oil) and it's time to change my oil again!
  11. Just did my first oil change. Engine oil was nearly black on 3511 kms. I am now running royal purple synthetic. Never used this brand but hear good things.

    Meet

Any Toronto (and area peoples) want to have a meet? I know this is mainly a rice rocket thing to do, but it doesn't mean older Dodge Journey owners are too old for this shizzle! I know we do have a lot of Toronto members, could be good times!
  13. After 1250 KM (1 month) Just a little of my automotive experience. I currently work in a field where I can easily put 500 km's on in one day (using company car), the average is about 200-250 km's depending on work load. These km's can range from average driving, to more spirited driving (outright crazy driving). Currently my work vehicle is a ford and has a 4.6 litre v8. Prior to this I have been involved in the automotive forums for over 15 years. I outgrew my first car, a 2001 Toyota Corolla (lowered, camber kit, performacne struts, cat back exhaust, intake, bodykit, rims, tires, the whole shabang). Went on to a Pontiac Vibe and Acura TSX, and now moved onto a family vehicle as it's going to be in the horizon very very soon. And yes I'm leaving this car in a pretty much stock configuration. I've always been somewhat of a hypermiler with my personal vehicles. Not only it's easier on the wallet, but easier on the vehicle itself. The bad: - With an average of 75% highway, 25% city, I've noticed that the fuel economy is.... Horrible. With a tank of almost 80 litres, I manage to get 350-400 km's on a tank, with a LIGHT foot. On an average fill up (I reset mileage calculator every fill up), I get an average of 12.3 l 100 km. and I don't think it corresponds with the true fuel economy I am getting. I'm expecting this to get better after break in. - Car seems to float a little when going over bumps. Characteristics of a larger family vehicle, or larger SUV. It's no corvette, or performance car; but it handles like a little sloppy. Granted it is bigger than the previous vehicle that I had, suspension could be a little stiffer. Still cautious on entering corners at higher than regular speeds! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad handler, but it could certainly use a little more stiffer springs. - At idle, engine doesn't feel smooth. I can feel a shutter/jerkyness in the brakes, and how the engine performs no matter if the engine is warm or cold. The good: - Roomy! Tuns of cargo space, very comfortable seating position. - Quiet. I can hear a pin needle drop on the carpet. Engine noise is just about right, even under what I can say is heavy accelleration (haven't got rpms past 2500 yet, getting er broken in and putting synthetic oil / filter . - Smooth .. Smooth ride.. - Power - Lots of power (from what I tested sofar). I can only assume it gets better through the RPM's. - Handy Storage -- Not that I've been camping yet with it.. oh but i will...... But storage is amazing. - Sound system -- I have the nav and sound upgrade. Unlike my previous vehicle (I had 2 12 inch subs and a 1300 watt amplifier), I could get decent bass output without sacrificing storage capacity! (my toy was a 2004 Acura TSX) now sold to brother. - Looks -- Damn good looking vehicle. - Interior options -- Again nav and sound upgrade, but it has toys, large touch screen, bluetooth, voice, heated mirrors, abs, all the rest of the goodies. Haven't had the opportunity to do a panic stop, or real performance driving. Dont even need to pull out the keys anymore. Overall in a percentage of satisfaction, I would say I am about 80% satisfied. I believe I made the right choice with this vehicle, but I do miss a sporty turn hugging vehicle that handles like a dream. I know it's a family vehicle, so it's really me that is the issue! LOL. I think I outgrew the sport rice rocket stage and it's time to think about my later life with the fiancee and plans for a football team of kids. It is my first Dodge I've ever owned (or my family for that matter), coming from a family of mainly import cars, or pontiacs. I'll do another review after 5000, and hopefully the idle issue and fuel economy issue dissapears!
  14. Regarding the passenger side storage under the seat. Is it only for the leather optioned seats? I've tried to look for the loop, etc with no luck .. can any one shed some light?
