  1. I have a 2012 with the 8.4". The only issue that i have seen with uconnect and iOS7 is that when playing music via the USB connection, songs actually skip backwards when you unlock the phone with a pas code. I have always had issues that sometimes when you connect the USB cable, it will sometimes connect but no sound will come though. disconnecting and reconnecting will solve it most times. very weird
  2. I have had this issue as well and i first thought it was just a bad MP3 but when i play back suspecting songs on any other device, there is no distortion. Then the distortion appeared when listening to a hockey game via internet radio/USB. Every time a goal was scored the sudden rise in levels caused the distortion. i tried the same feed through a set of powered speakers and it was fine. Perhaps i will gather some offending songs on an SD card and see how other DJ's handle the files
  3. I've been having a weird issue with the 8.4" radio and my iphone 5. It will randomly have issues connecting via USB. it will be fine for days and then mid playback it will suddenly enter a "connecting to USB" loop and eventually error out. Restarting the car usually makes it work again but thats hard to do in the middle of a highway trip. I have tried rebooting the iPhone, restoring the OS to fresh, swapping USB cables all with no luck in fixing the issue. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks Kevin
  4. Welcome to the forum. I don't have any specific trips planned yet other then my regular Toronto-Ottawa runs. I haven't been on the forums in a few weeks so perhaps the answer is on here but i do have an inquiry about some issues i've been having with the 8.4" radio and my iphone 5. it will randomly have issues connecting via USB. it could be find for days and then mid playback it will enter a "connecting to USB" loop and eventually error out. Restarting the car usually makes it work again but thats hard to do in the middle of a highway trip. Any hints on where to begin troubleshooting. I have also posted this in the appropriate section on the forum. Thank You KEvin Dunn
  5. I just had my first real road trip and i am impressed with the fuel ecomomy. Up until Friday, i had driven the Journey Crew around 4000km (2485 miles) and i have been averaging 14.5 L/100km (16.22 US MPG) with a mix of short city drives and 30-40 minute highway drives. For easter I did a 900KM (559 mile) road trip for Easter and the car averaged 11.8 L/110Km (19.9 US MPG).on the trip up. That did however include 150km (93 miles) of city short trip driving. the trip back however, the car averaged 10.4L/100KM (22.6 US MPG) which gives me an average of 11.1 L/100KM (21.19 us mpg for my last two tanks of gas
  6. A Vin is assigned at Status D1 and an order can be in D status for a long time.
  7. It's about time. Although I simply removed both hooks with a screwdriver and my single hook mats fit right in. I do plan on installing one hook back in the center just in case the mats decide to slip.
  8. yeah i watched the video once and i installed it woth no issues. Well except for the usual nervous "how hard do i need to/can I pull without breaking it" questions.
  9. woot woot, mine came with the red stripes. I guess they had to use up old stock before switching to it.
  10. Apparently Toronto is the first stop for any orders coming to Canada. Your Dealer should be able to give you the Build code that will tell you its last reported location. Based on my order, I think it a week to get from the factory to Chicago, another week to get to Toronto, and another week to get out west. I forget who, but there is a member from Edmonton on this board that might be able to confirm shipping times out west. FYI check out this list of build codes that can help you track your journey. It also has the benifit of impressing your dealer by knowing more then they do http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?/topic/25-order-status/
  11. Oh but the wait is certainly worth it. I've had mine for about 5 weeks now and i have no complaints. It's amazing that i can get 5 people and camping gear in without breakign a sweat.
  12. good question, i am going to look into that this weekend and ill let you know what i figure out.
  13. the lock pick also let me add in a rearview camera for a fraction of the cost of the factory system. It also give me an AUX in to use portable media devices as a source for the Dash screen.
  14. When I ordered my journey, I signed a sales order that had pricing and the current rebates... I was garrunteed that price and rebates no matter what. I was also told that if the rebates got better by the time my journey arrived, that they would be applied and a new sales order would be drawn up.. You should know all the numbers before you sign anything...
  15. I ended up going with the dealer applied lifetime rustproofing. It is cheaper in the long run as it is a one time cost and the bi-yearly inspections/reapplications are free.

Shipping time to Toronto is approx 2 weeks. My initial estimated ship date was Jan 19th but i guess the line got quite productive Here is a breakdown of the shipping timeline. shipped on Sunday Jan 15th. in St Louis Jan 19th Chicago Jan 22nd Toronto Rail Yards Jan 26th At dealer in Scarborough Jan 30th oh and FYI the VOTS website is for US customers only. As is the customer service phone number that Dodgecares posted elsewhere on the board. I tried calling them and i got a very curt, "We can't help you, call your dealer" email reply.
  17. Thanks guys. There is something to be said about taking a 2 hour old car and pulling off interior trim panels. The installation of the lockpick took about an hour but most of that was me not being sure how much force it needed to pull off the radio panel. It also took a bit to figure the best way to route the lockpick harness so that the radio could go back in. I also bought one of the cameras from Coastal and installed that yesterday. The wiring harness that came with the camera is not long enough to get all the way into the rear hatch. The other issue is that you have to feed it through the rubber sleev that goes from the car to the rear hatch. The connectors on the harness will never fit through so i had to take the second harness (from front camera that i bought) and cut off the amount needed to get all the way to the camera. Tonights job is to snake the cut end through the rubber tube and then resolder connectors on so that i can hook up the camera and finish hiding the cables and replace the trim panels. I did hook the camera up to test its quality and that what i had already installed works. The image quality is good during the day but at night you can certainly tell that this is an $80 camera. I may do some research into a better camera but it certainly does the job. I've only had the car for 36 hours but alrady I am very happy with my selection and enjoy the compliments regarding the Brilliant Tricoat Red paint.
  18. Woo hoo, I get to pick up my Journey tommorrow. Happy dance... It will be exactly 10 weeks from the day I ordered it and I can't wait to instal my lockpick and the weathertech mats tomorrow night.

You are at five weeks so based on what ive read here, you should be getting the VIN anytime now.
  20. Congrats. Mine took 10 weeks to be built and shipped to Toronto. That included the Christmas factory shutdown so I'd expect yours to take the same time with the added train travel to Edmonton.
  21. Press the settings button on the screen, press the display option, press the units option, choose the metric option...
  22. Welcome to the forum. My journey was last reported to be in a rail yard in Chicago... It shouldn't be long now till I get it.
