sorry but you are wrong it is NOT off the sticker price it is 1 precent off of the invoice price and emp. price is about 5 percent off of invoice price plus a $75. processing fee. any one can google this using chrysler freinds and family discount.

the second price you got was the friends and relatives price discount the employee and retiree discount is a bigger discount that is for the employee and his / her family only. both are a set price that cannot be haggled with and all rebates are subtracted after the discount price is told to you and then tax and all the other little add ons. NOW if you are trading in a car and using the discount they WILL rape you on the trade in price. and dont try to haggle the trade in with out telling them you are using a discount as they will go back to the beginning and tell you are getting such a great deal that they cant give you more for your trade in. read my above post as with new modles coming out you could get a better deal if you have your cash or financeing all set and do some wheeling and dealing and play hard ball, but it wont be much more.. E-85 ethanol, is a pipe dream started up by our goverment to help solve our fuel problems, the big problem with it that they are using corn to make it and that is not the best plant to use but suger cane and other plants dont grow here like they do in other parts of the world. ethanol gas needs to be one third of the cost of a gallon of reg gas to make up for the loss of performance and mpg to make it the same cost, only problem is they only discount it about 50 to 60 cents cheaper than reg gas. CNG is they way for us to get away from being dependent on gas and that wont happen for at least a couple of yrs. because they have to get enought fueling stations for it around the country enought so people will feel ok with it.to buy the cars that run on it. it is a cleaner and better way to power our future untill they get electric cars with a longer range of miles . also do not use ethanol in you car if it is NOT made to run on it, your car should say on the yellow gas cap that it is okay to use it. If it is not a flex fuel vec YOU WILL DAMAGE you engine no additive will prevent any damage to the engine not made to run it.....

i just called my local dealer and he wasnt aware of this part so i gave him the part number and my vin# and he called me back and said yes he wasnt aware of this,But yes it can be done and he said he would charge me 305 for the system and 90 for the install and since i am a chry. retiree i get 25% off of parts total cost should be about $365. so i told him to order it and will be about one week till i can have it in.. i told him that since most of the journeys on his lot didnt have the backup cam but had the 8.4 screen it should be a great upsell for his service dept, and he needs to adv. to his custermers. i have been trying since 2011 to get a rear cam back up sys. for this vec and the cheapset i had ever found was after market for 700 installed at a classic car store. but wanted a oem sys... this blog is really great for sharing ideas and for help... thanks for the tip spl147 i fgured for less than 90 id let the dealer do it you might want to price it with your local dealer also since you will have to pay him $50. to add the sales code ALOT EASIER and then comes with12/12k warrenty

have you checked with your local dealer to find out if and how much for them to add the code to your computer for it to work?

ive got 55k on my2011 and the fronts had been done thur warrenty at the dealer at 28 k (2nd time) so thought id check my rears and the rotors are smooth as silk and the inside pad is wore down a little more than half,so guess i am good for about another20 k or so. every yr around may thermoQuite runs a rebate on their pads and i buy thur advance auto and use retailmenot.com and get an extra $20. over $50 purchase and also with advance when the thermoquiets wear out they will replace them 1 time for free. saves quite alot of the price of brake jobs. i also do my daughters mail vec. maintance so it really saves money for her.LOL take care everyone

also you have to have re2/ re4 radio only for it to work. i have printed the paperwork and am going to check my local delaer with my vin # and have him see if this can be done and how much they would charge ill post next week after i find out. as i have been wanting to update my 8.4 with the rear cam but all the dodge dealers have told me no way, and i didnt want to use aftermarket parts such as lockpic as ive heard their parts are not up to standard.

you did see in the parts instruction that the dealer will have to do a sales code update to your computer for this to work at least thats what i was reading in the paperwork. let us know how it works after you get it done. i was going to give this info to my dodge dealer to check out as they told me they cant add the rear camera as its not a parts option for them.

30 yrs. with chrysler, worked the assy. lines,and line support. seen it all and done most every job that was offered.I have been retired 6yrs. as of now.It was an interesting and at times stressful job , but If I could go back and do it different. No i was blessed to meet so many different and interesting friends and belonged to the UAW union that has fought to help everyone live a good life with a good retirement benifits. To many companies only thinking about what is good for them in the short term and not worried about their workers and what happens to them after they put in their 30 yrs.

cannot be done using dodge parts, i have checked several dealerships as mine came with the 8.4 but no rear cam. their are after market rear cams that will work thur the 8.4 but have not used them. lockpic is one of them. check out the differenet forum topic for info. if you find something and do it please post if you are happy with it.

i removed the 2nd row head rest and have the 3rd row seats folded down and does give a better view behind the journey. as my came with the 8.4 screen but no rear cam installed from the factory. last time at the dealer i was looking at the new journeys and all the ones with the 8.4 did not have the rear cam. cant figure out why the dealer would order them this way since you cant add it later from the dealer.... oh well....

check your door settings thur your radio. they might have changed to the dead battery and or jumpFlight 297

yrs ago my 89 dodge truck got hit head on in our small town and i had it towed to the best repair shop in town and they fixed it and called and said it was ready, so i went up and took it for a test drive and the speedo needle was jumping at all speeds and the air conditioning didnt work so went back inside and told him what was going on and he said well did they work before the acc. and i said hell yes they did, so he said he would fix everything and when i picked it up again i still took it for an other test drive before i signed the paper work ALWAYS check out the repaires brfore signing any paper work...

sorry to hear about your problems and to be fair ive had to have my rotors fixed twice under warrenty way to soon to have happened but other than that i love my journey. guess you should have bought the Subaru, that you wanted but didnt want to pay more money for. i have owened dodges all my life along with a 2 GM and 1 ford, and they all had some problems with them at one time or another. and this is the first dodge that ive had problems with the rotors warping and when they need to be done again ill do them myself. i guess dodge while trying to offer a good price on their cars went to cheap with the smaller rotors than they should have or too cheap of a parts vender. oh well hope you have great luck with your next car...

got about 52 k on my stock kumhos and still have good tread on them but will also trade them out before winter, i did keep them rotated by myself every 10k. havent had any bad things to say about them and we have alot of heat and icey rds. no deep snow....

what mileage do you have on your journey, i have a 2011 with the 17 inch tires and just past 50 k and still have great tread on them. but will prob. put new ones on before winter.

looks great and not a bad price. wondering why dealers dont order the rear cam when they order the 8.4 screen radio mine was the same way and after it gets to the dealer you cant add the rear cam. doesnt make any sense. any way great looking journey, congrats

please post a sound clip of reg driving down the road and do you hear a loud droan noise at hwy speed . down the same with my 2001 truck sounded good at idle and sounded good at hwy speed but later on got a little tried of it when on long trips. sounds great at idle but sounds a little high pitched at ther rev up speed.....

have never had awd only frt wheel drive or rear wheel drive grew up in mich. and now live in al, i love fwd and have never had any problems with it and have seen many 4 wheel drives stuck in snow and ice because that doesnt mean you cant lose control with awd.Drive with care and fwd is all you need with out the added cost of awd and better mileage also. but if you feel safer with it go for it.

i love my v6,but if you do alot of city stop and go you might want the 4 cyl. the v6 will get you with all city driveing between 17-20 and will get better once you get out on the interstates because of the transmission. i always had the 3.3 in my minn-vans and my daughter bought one with the 4cyl. and it really did just as good as the 6 cyl did, but with alot of better gas mileage. good luck and keep us posted which way you went and how you like it
