  1. Did you get the rims through the dealer? Or from somewhere else? What did they cost you if you don't mind me asking?
  2. Yep, I'm the other one this happened to. Interesting that all 3 of us are from Canada... Granted a pretty small sample size.
  3. There is a way, but it requires a separate aftermarket module called a lockpick. For the average user, they probably aren't going to bother as it requires taking apart the dash to get access to the wiring and putting the lockpick inbetween.
  4. You aren't kidding that black shows everything! Any little water spot it glaring haha. Great pics. At first I was wondering what happened to the touchscreen, but realized you have the 4.3. This is probably the first mango tango one I have seen that wasn't on the Dodge website, so I have to say, looks a lot better than I thought! Nice choice, and as mentioned, great contrast with the colours!
  5. You're in the same boat that I am... I don't have the hitch yet, but I will probably install it myself to save on the labor ($180 for labor is what i was quoted). I just want to make sure that I get this magical update, and that the dealer will know what I'm talking about. From what a previous posted said, it is just a flash update, so I am hoping that when I go there, if I say something like 'I need the software updated that controls the lights to allow me to hook a trailer to it... The LED rear lights don't have enough power to give to the trailer lights' they might have an idea what I am talking about. I'd like go get this flash update done before I install the hitch so I can make sure that I didn't screw something up when I install it. I am hoping that it doesn't require a different harness then the one that came in the trunk with the tow prep. Only time will tell I suppose. In regards to the price, in Canada, my dealership quoted me about $290 for the hitch, and $180 for install. Looking through the instructions, the install doesn't look too bad. As for advantages, in looking through some of the pictures, the Mopar hitch looks a little more aesthetically appealing. The hitch itself doesn't stick out or anything either since it's a vertical one. Performance-wise, I don't think there would be any difference with a Mopar vs a Hidden Hitch. I think it's ultimately up to each person's tastes. If you do get the update installed before I do, let me know how that went with your dealer, and if there was anything special you had to say.
  6. I find this really annoying on long drives... I get about 100 songs into the playlist and stop to use the bathroom or something, and come back in, and it starts from the beginning of the song it left off at, and then starts the shuffle from the very beginning order again, so I have to skip through 100 songs (or wherever I left off at) to get back to where I was. I am hoping for a software update as well on this. I imagine this will be pretty low on their priority list.
  7. I finally received the badges today, and got them installed on both sides. Looks pretty good. I have the chrome fuel door as well, and the locking gas cap. I didn't go for the chrome mirrors as of yet as I am not sure I am thrilled with the idea of them just being covers that just stay on with adhesive. Overtime where I live especially in winter/rain I would think the adhesive would wear off or something.
  8. As has already been mentioned with them being extremely popular, there are a ton of them up where I am... We are in a snow belt, so there are tons that are AWD. I never really noticed how many there were until I bought mine.
  9. I believe they are having problems with some parts (especially the uconnect/touchscreen stuff) since the earthquakes in Japan.
  10. I've never gotten an alert either for sports. I did however test out the Favorite band/song feature. That did work - It shows a little green flag at the top of the screen inbetween the driver temperature and the time. I almost missed it, I was expecting a popup to show up or something.
  11. Yep I received them before I posted. Everything was brand new and still in the original packaging. Extremely happy with their service... The shipping was way faster than I thought - Shipped on 5/20, and I received it on 5/27... Which is pretty awesome considering where I'm at.... They combine shipping as well which was awesome. I think for the 3 items I purchased, the original price would have been around $77, but with combined shipping it came to about $35.
  12. Hey All, Just wanted to pass along Bosak Motors ebay store link for any of you that are interested. I believe it's a dealership out of Indiana? They carry Mopar accessories for a lot cheaper than at the dealership... I ordered a cargo tray, locking gas cap, and chrome gas cap for $170 including shipping to Canada! Here's the link: http://stores.ebay.com/BOSAK-MOTORS/DODGE-JOURNEY-/_i.html?_fsub=831896016&_sid=129278196&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 THey ususally have the cargo mats for $52, among other accessories... SHipping is extremely reasonable. I was super happy with their prices and shipping rates!!
  13. Yep, there are a lot of backordered parts as a result of the earthquakes. Even a lot of the colours are no longer available (BLack, Blackberry, etc).
  14. I don't think I've noticed this with my Journey as of yet.
  15. Yep - I am hoping that is the case as well. There is a member on here that was told that there is no way to get the factory VC/BT if it didn't come with it from the factory. He was told by his dealer I believe, however, they could be mistaken as well. at least I'm sure hoping so!
  16. Haha yeah, it definitely has no problem accelerating when you hit the pedal. I find passing on the highway it's pretty easy to get it to 140-150 kph when passing!
  17. Yep this is true. I had the charging symbol as well. I couldn't figure out what caused the battery to drain, as I was sure nothing was left on. I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.
  18. I've had this happen to me once... It was a few weeks ago. Got into it one morning, and it wouldn't start... Everything else seemed to work so the battery wasn't completely dead, but was dead enough that the motor wouldn't turn over... It hasn't happened since then.... Was the strangest thing. It never occurred to me that it was the battery (since nothing was left on, and the gauges/radio/accessories all still worked, so I assumed something happened with the starter or something). THe tow truck driver came out and checked a few things, and decided to jump it as a last resort before towing it, and it worked.
  19. I am hoping that it will simply be a matter of burning it to a CD/DVD, or sticking it on an SD card and it will update that way.
  20. zack - it isn't that the dealers were shortsighted to what the buyers want, the way Dodge had it originally listed, the 8.4n was called 8.4 with uConnect, so it made it seem like it came with the BT/VC. Many dealers were surprised to find that when they took receipt of the Journey's that they didn't come with VC/BT, and found out afterwards it was a seperate $300 option.
  21. Yep, that's just my inability to read. Corrected my post
  22. Glad to hear that you got better mileage out on the highway. Hopefully you don't continue to be getting 20+ in the city.
  23. I think I read in another thread around here that there is an update that fixes the LED/Incandescent issue. Hopefully when I get the hitch installed through the dealer, they will have an idea what I'm talking about.
  24. That's awesome!! Please make sure you take pics/post a guide!
