  1. the xm video may not be available in your state, as the laws vary from place to place. Here in Canada, it's not available. Maybe check with XM to see how to subscribe.
  2. Your mileage should improve, as the engine gets worked in. Also we are blessed/cursed with winter fuel which enables easier start ups, but decreases the fuel economy. To boot, these things are HEAVY, not a bad thing if you're involved in a collision, and they're as aerodynamic as a shoe box. On the plus side, They look great, ride nice, are fun to drive and are safer than most vehicles on the road. oh yeah, they have satelite radio too..... Hooked on Boneyard myself, they were playing Sabbath's War Pigs the first time I tuned to it. Gotta love that!!! "General's gathered in their masses, just like witches at black masses"... ..."Day of judgment god is calling, on their knees, the war pigs crawling. Begging mercy for their sins, satan laughing spreads his wings" cheers, Ron
  3. i guess my first post didn't come off as I was intending. (my bad) I guess it was hypothetical because, you're right about the 2010 not supporting the flex fuel, so I use the Premium Shell gas which has zero ethanol, personal preference, If they had zero ethanol in their mid-grade, I'd buy that for sure. If i had the Pentastar engine and was thinking about using the E85 fuel. I would want to get max HP, and forget about the MPG, from the higher octane that the E85 offers, by changing to larger injectors (Maybe SRT4 injectors) and a bigger fuel rail, do some data logging and get a high performance tune, and I'd only use the E85. But, there are no tools at our disposal, at this time, to datalog or tune the pentastar engine. I wonder if the dyno numbers (283HP)and the fuel economy ratings (24-36MPG)for the new V6 was done using the same fuel???? oh yeah that MPG is from the Canadian site using the imperial gallon Hope this post doesn't muddy up this discussion too too much Cheers Ron
  4. Shell hi-test for me, always, it contains no ethanol. No Flex fuel for my 2010. I'd put bigger injectors if I were gonna use E85 exclusively. and you'd have to plan out your route as it's not available everywhere. but with the experts claiming $2.00/lt plus in the very near future, it is definately something to consider -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If this Middle East mess spreads to Saudi Arabia...1/5 of world's oil reserves........ http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...03-10-16-28-21 http://www.eia.doe.gov/cabs/Saudi_Arabia/Oil.html http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.cf8ccfd0c8636e4a3df42d9b2e0ab4d1.2c1&show_article=1
  5. HI and welcome to the forums, glad you could join us. cheers
  6. I've found no use for that timer myself, it does reset when you reset the fuel milleage. there's one on my 05 Magnum too.
  7. Thanks for sharing the photos. looks really sweet.
  8. for what it's worth, the new hoses have cured the problem ( acording to the dealer tech I talked to), and the back- order issue is due to the fact the first shipments get sent to the assembly plant for the new builds then the remainder gets shipped to their central warehouse for ditribution to the dealerships.
  9. Let's hope Chrysler has customer satisfaction as a major priority, and they buy it back from you. you'd think the caravan module would have been discovered at the assembly plant (unless they look identical) by the craftsman, they see those parts hundreds of times in a day. and the caravans are assembled in Canada while the Journey is assembled in Mexico Please keep us posted as to the solution Chrysler choses. Hope to see you back here, praising your 2011 cheers
  10. might want to try a codec pack http://www.free-codecs.com/ace_mega_codecs_pack_download.htm it has many multimedia tools as well as a video player ( media player classic)
  11. sounds to me like the power steering pump is cavitating due to the air trapped inside of it. Trying to get it to resolve itself is hit or miss as the pump has an easier time pulling air through it rather than the thicker p/s fluid. Thats why they would use vaccuum pressure to get the air out of the system. hope it all gets sorted
  12. from the owner's manual 100000 Km 60000 Miles 60 Months Change the engine oil and engine oil filter. Rotate tires. Replace the engine air cleaner filter. Replace the spark plugs (2.4L Engine). Inspect the brake linings, and replace if necessary. Replace the air conditioning filter (if equipped). Change Rear Drive Assembly (RDA) fluid. Change Power Transfer Case (PTU) fluid. Change the automatic transmission fluid and external filter. Inspect the front suspension, tie rod ends and boot seals for cracks or leaks and all parts for damage, wear, improper looseness or end play; replace if necessary.
  13. very very nice, congrats on your new ride. did you remove the cross members on the roof rack or did it not have any?
  14. the paint should NOT be faded as there's a clear coat on top of the base coat. That being said, you may need to buff the area to remove any dirt and such that has built up around the edges. check the pinstripe for cracking which may occur if it was waxed, making the removal a real chore many folks have removed their side mouldings without issues. The common reaction when the mouldings were removed was a slight difference in sheen, which equalized in a couple of days once the area was exposed to the air.
  15. Nice job, I bet itsounds as good as it looks welcome to the forums
  16. Hi and welcome, we'd love to see some pix of your new ride
  17. that would be awesome, and it should help us get through the winter blahs.
  18. Hi and welcome from Cornwall.
  19. nice stuff, keep the pics coming happy motoring
  20. I think it may be a bit early for a fuel consumption comparison, glad your gonna keep it in the Mopar family. ahead full
  21. http://www.weathertech.com/ these folks have some awesome stuff, got a set for my Magnum. and I love them. Gonna order a set for the Journey this spring
  22. I hope you realize that when the taction control is working that it applies the brakes to the wheel that is losing traction, thereby slowing your vehicle. Perhaps that has something to do with the symptoms you are experiencing. Our Journey just loves the snow
  23. That sounds frustrating, I had no problems loading files to the hdd. I just went out to see if i could replicate your symptoms. But it worked flawlessly with 3 different zip drives sounds like it may be a software issue(updates may be available), or possibly either a faulty zip drive or faulty usb on the radio. Software and Database Updates Visit http://www.chrysler.com/en/owners/mygig/ for information on available software and database updates. Updates are available for the radio software, and the Gracenote® music recognition technology database. Please read the specific instructions on the update discs before installing the updates. Contact your local authorized dealership if you need help or more information about the available updates
  24. the proper way to park is to come to a stop , apply parking brake, then put transmision into park. not everyone does it the proper way though (me included) like Bubba says, put it in park and try to push the vehicle if it doesn't move more than a few inches, you'll be fine. let us know how it turns out
  25. could be the power steering pump, they like to whine in the frigid temps
