Hi, name is Kevin and have been lurking on the forum for awhile so this is my first post. Have a 2013 SXT, bought in March of 2013 and can honestly say we are very happy with the vehicle. Installed the same Curt hitch and wiring harness as OP installed and it went in pretty easy, as onecrazyfoo4u says, putting the wiring harness in first makes it a little easier, you can get your arm in to feed the harness along the top of the bumper bar. I ran the power wire the same way he mentioned.
All this done at about 2 or 3 deg celcius outside on the gravel driveway, dressed up like the Michelin man and lying on cardboard, nothing like having all the insulated coveralls/clothing on and needing a pee while your under there.
The curt hitch looks nice and I also bought a flat 4 coil flex extension cord so the harness connector end is ty-wrapped to the hitch and you have a neat and tidy looking installation, no loose wire hanging down, the coil extension stretches out to about 4'.

I installed my Curt 13335 Hitch the other day. Just like the OP said, pretty easy install. The only thing I didn't know was you have to remove the rear tow bar since it's in the way. Took me a minute to realize that. Just 2 bolts to take off the rear tow bar...and you don't need it now that the hitch has openings for a tow hook. Just a little FYI to watch out for.

Welcome to the forum. NO that is not normal. That is indicative of a fluid leak or air in the system, First inspect each wheel for fluid leaks, then the master cylinder and all brake lines. Check the level of the fluid. If no leaks and the level is fine, the brakes need to be bled. Oh, and do not ever take your car back to the place that told you it is normal for a brake pedal to go all the way to the floor. Next they will be telling you that your blinker fluid needs to be changed.

Does not sound right to me. Any vehicle should not gradually go to the floor when holding the brake pedal. Sounds to me you may have a leaking master cylinder. Take it back and demand it be repaired. All else aside, it is a safety concern. What would happen in the case of an emergency stop? Will it hold pressure long enough to stop you or will it leak down more rapidly leaving you with no brakes.

Thanks for input guys! Went to Kal tire which happens nearest to my place. They said tire might picked up nail or something and they repaired it for free. Offered me change oil for $66 including tax which i refuse for now because i still have one free oil change from the dealer! I inquire about using synthetic oil and he said it will easily jump to $100+. Never realized that synthetic is that expensive.

I've only done it twice. But you're right, the anticipation was agonizing - especially the first time. My 300M was built and delivered in just under six weeks, but it might as well have been six years. But yes - worth the wait. I I still have that car. I got an unexpected upgrade as well. Shortly after I ordered the car, the factory upgraded the wheels from 16" to 17", which is was I wanted but were not available with the Performance Handling Group. I found out about the upgrade after the car was built but before it was shipped, and thought there must have been an error in the description. When it finally arrived, it wore the 17's that I wanted all along.

I remember factory ordering a vehicle. The anticipation was the worst part. Especially when it got to the final destination and the dealer could not get it off the train because of a rail strike. And the dealer could see it across the street on the train. Waited an extra 2 weeks for it. 11 weeks in total. But it was worth the wait.

Wife liked our 2009 SXT DJ that when it was time to trade we got another DJ. 2013 Crew almost a year ago now. 16,500 KM on it so far and very pleased with it. Just had first problem with it. Battery was discharged and at -25 C remote would not start. Dealer checked and did not find any issue besides battery low. Other than that all is good. Good to hear you are enjoying your DJ. :shades:

I installed a Curt hitch from Hitch Depot USA. Good price and very fast delivery and just bolted right in. Toughest part was dropping exhaust system to install hitch. Trailer wiring adapter was just plug in and away you go. With LED tail lights will need to run a power lead from the battery. Good DIY project for an afternoon.

Load tested the battery this morning and we have a weak battery. Will not keep a load. Works fine when temperatures are mild but at -25 it is not strong enough to start with remote and just barley starts with ignition button. Spoke to dealer and just need to schedule it into the shop for replacement.

Cold does affect cranking power. As the temperature drops so does the reserve cranking amps. At about -20 C you effectively lose 60% of the cranking power and at -40 C it looses over 80%. If you have a weak battery it can still turn over an engine in warm weather but when it gets cold you find out very quickly you have a weak battery. You also compound everything else is cold including engine oil the battery must do a tremendous amount of work to crank over the engine. That is why before I get too concerned about my remote start I am going to check the condition of the battery with a load test. If it checks out good, then I will going to the dealer to find out what is wrong.

I have not had good experience with Canadian Tire. Seems that they do not have very experienced mechanics and always want to up sell me for work that is not needed. Fortunately I can do most of the routine stuff myself, but when I do need work done that I cannot (or don't want to) do I use a independent shop that was highly recommended to me. Working out good so far. Of course the DJ is still under warranty so it goes to the dealer.
