  1. This thread reminds me of this one time i was at Casino Morongo in California and we were having a contest who could remote start their vehicles because we were way up in the tower and i could see my vehicle's lights blink to show it had remote started. Problem was i couldnt turn it off lmao so i had to go down the elevator and all the way to the far end of the parking lot to make sure it was off and locked.
  2. I had a Chrysler rep actually tell me that Chrysler has had notorious issues with their breaking system in many of their vehicles and that goes for Dodge and Jeep as well. With that being said i took the car to a break guy and he confirmed and told me there are rotor and pad combinations that are pretty cheap and the quality is way better... Probably get an extra 15k miles out of them. So long story short... you will probably want to have them replaced with some after markets. My rotors are already warped because i am getting break squeaks so i am going to go with aftermarket. Sorry Chrysler but this issue is unacceptable and an awsome veh like the journey should not squeak when you break.
  3. Congrats on the purchase! I have had mine for about a month as well and i couldnt be happier. Granted they are new vehicles and some answers are hard to come by we would still love to try and answer any questions you might have. With that being said are you planning to mod your Journey at all?
  4. Congrats on the new addition to the family! I have seen the Journey be more Hit than Miss so i wish you the best of luck with the vehicle. I believe you will be very happy with it and of course if you ever have any questions please post them up. I love my Journey and i wouldnt trade it for any other car. B)
  5. Pretty weird, just sounds like the onboard computer had a bug up its butt. Hopefully the reset took care of that or else it could be faulty.
  6. Well i had ordered a kit from "bling lights.com" and then from there you have to trim the film and install yourself. But my buddy said that the film wasnt like the film he uses professionaly so instead of wrapping the other tail lights we are waiting for him to get the good stuff. We are going to finish it maybe this weekend PS I need to know what intake you have man! I need that haha.
  7. Radrob can you tell me if this is like the intake you purcahsed that fits the journey? http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes/61A1915A0A0.aspx?kc=MERCSHOP&from_search=1&mr:referralID=286164e6-7004-11df-a41e-0026b95a1734
  8. Out of a few common SUV's and Cars that i test drove i liked the Journey the best. I am very satisfied with my purchase
  9. This is very good advice, thank you for the contribution it will help me with my decision to use my DJ for towing or not.
  10. Could be a problem with the link between your remote starter and your vehicle. I am just speculating here but just as when you first start a vehicle all the lights will light up to show you that they are all working in case one is burnt out... Well maybe when you remote start something causes the light for the tire pressure to remain on? Could be the way its wired to the cars on board computer. I would contact the guys that installed it because i believe any sort of modification you did thats causing this to happen probably wont be covered under your vehicles warranty but hopefully the shop that installed it has a warranty on their work.
  11. So i noticed that the vehicle says it wants like 33 PSI or something in all 4 tires but the tires themselves hold like around 50 PSI. Anyone run different PSI's and if so was there a positive change in handling/performance? Any negative? I run 40 in all 4 and it seems to pefrorm well although it does get a bit jumpy around corners.
  12. There are no kits available that i have seen... i would think your best bet is to find a reputable suspension shop and get a quote on how much it would be for them to lower it. They will probably have to fabricate a kit for it but i think it can be done.
  13. After much discussion with various mechanics and Chrysler reps it seems that Chrysler has always had a weird problem with their factory breaks and this goes for a few of their vehicles. I just spoke with a very good break specialist and he advised on a certain brand that he uses when he replaces Chrysler's pads and rotors. I forgot the name but he is going to install them on my Journey. Ill let you know how it goes
  14. Thanks man! Yea this method took a while and probably isnt the easiest but certainly still an option considering you can use common house hold items. I always get looks from people that drive by, i removed the front chrome from my grill and had it coated flat black so there are no dodge markings on the outside of the car at all. I have been asked if it was a Mercedes like 3 times lol
  15. I will admit the Matrix packs some punch and the standard options are pretty nice... It comes with a JBL system and subwoofer along with bluetooth control (something that SHOULD come standard in our Journeys) But i still prefer my Journey. Its a good car for her as its small and easy to drive and at the same time fun to drive. Has good enough cargo space but its def not the car to pack all your friends in or anything like that. war you are right about the space... it does not really have any lol
  16. So i decided to take it upon myself to harass dodge/chrysler about this issue. I am bringing it to a really good paint place to have their guys see what the cause for the paint fade could be and how much to fix it. I called 4 Dodge dealerships and spoke to a "Chrysler Rep" that was at one of them and he told me that there was almost nothing they could do. Thanks for the shitty service, love the car but they are making it pretty hard to. So much for spending the 2 grand for the premium warranty ect... i dont feel like part of the Chrysler family at all. I guess its time to spend more money to fix Chryslers problems. Ill keep you guys posted!
  17. No kits yet that i have seen... I am having everything made custom for mine. Got a guy thats working on my exhaust and intake. Looks like its all about who you know with these cars

    Where do you live?

    Los Angeles, CA :D
  19. So i got my Journey and my Fiance just picked up an 09 Toyota Matrix Type S.
  20. Got a heat gun and removed the emblums. All of them are just held on by glue so you can use a heat gun or blow dryer to heat the glue and remove the emblums. **CAUTION** If you are to attempt this make sure you feather the heat evenly and do not hold the heat gun/blow dryer on one spot too long... you risk burning the paint. Also be careful as the emblums will be hot. Once you have the letters off you can use something like a credit card to remove the glue. Nail polish remover works good to remove the rest with some elbow grease. Make sure you throw some wax on the area you apply the nail polish to protect the paint. Before: After:
  21. So i had a friend that does tinting come over and we started tinting the tail lights on my Journey. Coming along great but we decided to stop and get different film. You can see the difference here:
  22. Thanks for the tips guys... The tires so far seem to be with in operating range as far as the PSI goes. I live in Los Angeles so the weather honestly is about 50/50 when it comes to dry weather vs the rain. Some streets are bumpy but for the most part i am on pretty even pavement. With that being said i do like the super sporty look of those jap brands but i dont want to sacrifice good handling in a wet enviorment.
  23. Too bad we dont live close to each other... i am looking for an agressive sound and i might have traded you my stock exhaust if you wanted. Other than that they may be able to weld in a muffler to help with the noise... you can also try Dynomat but that is probably a last resort.
