  1. Car has just over 71k miles on it. Bought used and had been sitting outside for about six months. Did not know this before I bought it or would have second guessed my decision. Since I have owned it for about three weeks I've had to change the ball joints and camshaft sensor. I have a very bad vibration over 60 mph's in the floor/seat and if I continue to accelerate, felt in the steering wheel. This has happened with the OEM rims and with brand new steelies (for winter) and brand new winter tires (General Tire Arctic Max 12). They have been Hunter Road Force balanced twice. Someone had mentioned possible frame damage, but that has been ruled out. The tech at the tire shop I got my tires at suggested engine mounts as a possible issue causing this. It does make some sense because of the below. I don't really noticed much shifting from reverse to drive or vise versa...I notice the engine dipping forward when cranking to start it (watched it happen)...You can even feel it when you are in the car. Doesn't happen all the time, but when it does happen you feel the car shake briefly. I've also been experiencing a lot of bucking when the car switches gear (upshift and downshift) mostly in stop and go traffic. The bucking can be pretty abrupt at times. It's the 3.6L FWD.
  2. Thanks 2late4u...It is a FWD. Here's the thing, I bought the car used from a dealership other than Dodge. Car came certified which in Ontario would have been rejected if a broken motor mount was detected. I am car savvy to an extent and know that engine mounts exist, and can easily spot the ones on top to the left and right of the engine block. However underneath the car is where my knowledge dwindles, and in the case of the DJ, I'm not sure if what I was looking at is a motor mount. I specifically asked the dealership I bought it from to make sure that all the mounts were in tact and in good working order, I was assured that everything was fine. So when I noticed what I did, you could likely understand my frustration. If I take it to a Dodge dealership or independent mechanic, they will likely charge me a diagnostic fee which I would like to avoid but may need to just suck it up.
  3. Quick question....And quite a mystery trying to find using Google....Does anyone know where the engine mounts are located on a 2014 DJ Limited? I have one that I think is broken, but not sure if it is actually a mount. It is located under the engine towards the front of the car and in the centre just ahead of the front wheels. It's attached to the frame.
  4. This sounds similar to an issue I'm having and already misdiagnosed. The whining would begin as soon as I turn the car on...Then, it would go away briefly and return. If I am just sitting in park and revving the engine, the whine would get louder. If it wasn't making any noise at the time, I could easily replicate it by turning the steering wheel as far as it can go in either direction. Once I returned the steering wheel back to center and waited a few seconds, the noise would disappear but would reappear again shortly thereafter. Hopefully this makes sense. I don't hear it when I'm driving, but that could just be the result of the road noise cancelling it out. I took it in to get looked at and was told that the PS fluid was really dirty and needed to be changed. I had that done, but the noise still persists. I am bringing it back in on Friday to ask wtf? I honestly think this is the PS pump going.
  5. The car is FWD. Alignment was done as I had to replace the front ball joints. There was no change either before or after the alignment was done. I'd be pretty angered if the frame was bent, although I wasn't aware that this type of shaking could be an indication of that...I always thought bent frames show themselves more with alignment issues and uneven tire wear. Just to be on the safe side before I explore the possibility of a bent frame, I'm going to have my tires road force balanced to see if that improves anything.
  6. Wondering if anyone has or is experiencing vehicle shake when driving at both low and highway speeds? A little more info: 1) Shake starts around 65 km/h (40 mph) It levels out for a little but then comes back again around 100-110 km/hr (60-68 mph) and intensity of the shake continues above that speed 2) Felt primarily in the seat and floor. When i look in the rear-view, I can see the back seats shaking. 3) 2014 DJ Ltd. Bought used 4) Does this with the 19" OEM alloys and also with my winter tires which are brand new as well as the steel wheels they came on. I know that usually vibration felt in the steering wheel is front end issues, and seat and floor vibration is typically rear issues. I am not so certain it is balance or tire related as it happens with two different sets of tires and rims. If it is not that, what else could be causing this?
  7. Power liftgate...Oh, how that would be nice! Fuel economy (2014 DJ with V6) is sub par....I am getting on average 13-14 l/100k which is 16.8-18 mpg's (this is highway and city combined driving). Although the v6 pantastar is a definite updgrage from my 4 cyl CVT I had, I have to admit that I am a little disappointed by it's power. I find it sluggish off the line and when trying to get it into passing gear. The positive, 7 seats! Comfortable ride...Aside from the rattles which the music volume takes care of. Dual climate control with rear climate control as well. But if someone can please tell me how to defrost the rear side windows, that would be great. Heated seats and steering wheel which comes on automatically when remote starting the car.
  8. Well, here are the pics....The startup screen is definitely UConnect. It looks like everything except the nav software is genuine. On one of the screens it says to go to naviextras.com to get map updates...Did that, but nothing there I could find had anything remotely related to UConnect or even Infotainment.
  9. Hi...Hope someone can help me out here...Recently picked up a used 2014 DJ Ltd. What I've noticed and can't seem to figure out is that when I am in drive and stopped at a light, as soon as I let my foot off the brakes, the car instead of smoothly creeping forward, it slowly pulses forward and sometimes not at all. Kind of feels like a rocking sensation. Any car I've had has always been a smooth creep forward. It's a 3.6 V6. I've also noticed that gas mileage is really poor. I'm lucky to get 250 miles to a tank of gas. Lastly, not sure if this is related, sometimes my car cranks longer than other times when starting and my brake pedal is very stiff when car sits overnight and I have to really push on it to have the push start recognize that I am pressing it. Any suggestions/things to consider?
  10. Thanks for the reply! Definitely not Garmin...And the instructions from the website are nowhere near what the menu looks like on my screen. I'll try and post some pics later. I'd return it, but it has over 75k miles on it, and was bought from a dealership that isn't Dodge/Chrysler. I don't think they'd really care less or know what's supposed to be on there. Looks like it's Google Maps for me!
  11. Hi everyone...New to the forum. I recently purchased a used 2014 Journey Limited. It came with an 8.4 touch screen that has navigation. As you can imagine, the map is dated. I did a search online and couldn't for the life of me find out how to update this. Even the Dodge site asks me to enter in a 10 digit code which can be found by following steps that they provide (keep in mind that I had to provide my year and model and trim). However, none of the steps match my navigation menu options. And when I finally get to the map info, there is no 10 digit number to use. I am dumbfounded...When I search the Igo Primo site, there are no options to choose Dodge or Chrysler. I have updated the Uconnect software and it is running the latest version (which was from 2016). Is there a way to update the iGo Primo map? I mean, I can always just use Google maps on my phone, but it would be nice to have the navigation on the screen. Apologies if I'm beating an old topic...I just couldn't find anything specific to iGo Primo when I did a search.
