    Drafty doors?

Not 100% sure. My previous experience with drafty unsealed doors ( speakers and power lock installs) on other cars was I would feel a draft coming through any slit or hole in the door panel. I am only feeling the draft around the whole lower door seal on both drivers and passenger side. Also I tried to slide a sheet of paper between the door and body and it seemed to pass through a little too easy. No one else notice this? I've got a 2 month old 2010 sxt.

    Drafty doors?

Hi all! Now that winter is settling in I have been noticing a draft from the bottom front doors. At first I thought that I might be blocking the lower heat vent with my legs but last night while driving home my wife in the passenger seat noticed it as well after I lowered the fan speed. After further feeling around it seems that the lower door seals aren't making good contact with the car body. Has anyone else noticed this? I am going to call the dealership to let them know this week.
  3. Just went through our first 4" snowfall (southern ontario) with the '10 journey FWD and OEM 17" kumhos. Traction control only kicked in when I tried to gun it to see their limits. Handled pretty good. Alot better than the OEM Goodyear Wranglers on my Liberty 4X4. Those are THE worse tires I have ever had on a vehicle.
  4. "I have a few question about that remote too like does the vehicle need to be locked for the remote to work?" No. When you initialize the remote starter it will automatically lock the doors anyway. "also wheni do get it going through remote i unlock vehicle to get in get in put key in ignition and sometimes shuts down on me im like wtf???" You might be touching the brake pedal as your settling into your seat or your timing is spot on. The starter will only run the vehicle for 15 minutes at a time before shutting down. "anyone know what kinda range there getting with there remote?" The other day I got to test that coming out of my work. Its about 500ft to the car and she started on the first try of the remote especially considering the rear end was facing me. I think I saw somewhere it supposed to be upto 1000 feet.
  5. Wash the area you are pinstripping. Make sure there is no dust or dirt after thoroughly drying it. Make sure the car is at least room temperature. Use a plastic credit card or something similar (as long as its rigid but not enough to scratch) to work the bubbles out. Above all, take your time. A guy I know puts the stripping on the RT Challengers and he takes at least a half hour per car. Good luck and post some pics of the after job!
  6. '91 Honda Prelude SR '94 Mazda MX3 '04 Jeep Liberty Renegade (still have it) '07 Dodge Charger SXT 2010 Journey SXT -bought it after the charger lease expired a month ago.
  7. Is your journey a 4 cylinder? My 6 keeps it pretty constant even on small hills.
  8. I've got a BB Pearl and at first had this issue getting the phonebook to my REQ. Might be similar. On your phone, --Go into OPTIONS. --Go into BLUETOOTH. --Press MENU button then select OPTIONS. My phone had the address book transfer disabled. Enable this. --Turn on bluetooth and reconnect to Uconnect. Your radio should automatically transfer after establishing a link. Hope it helps
  9. Diito. I like the look of #2. Ford flex does have a nice front end but your driving a Dodge.
  10. Got the cloth with 'yes' stainguard in my SXT. Better than the SE static-y cloth. I've had leather in my charger and jeep renegade. Was good til winter set in. Stuff becomes very brittle in sub-zero to the point that they begin cracking at the creases.
  11. Not 100% sure but I think there may be some adhesive under the plastic. They may crack either way if you try to remove them. Then you will have no choice in rim colour...
  12. A quick fix for the clips not staying locked is to use some electrical or duct tape cut to size over each of the loose clips. Try it before you have to shell out for new ones.
  13. Finally, I was able to check 2 other journeys with the same package as mine. Unfortunately I guess engineering didn't see a need to put a spacer in there. So I put one in anyway. Now it doesn't flex when using the rear HVAC controls.
  14. Awesome find.. A lot of info to go on. Thanks.
  15. Sort of understand your situation. I am doing anything Journey at the dealer in the next town over because I'm sick of having to deal with the idiots at the 2 others in my town. .. and I work for the company.. Shh!
  16. ..or canadian tire and princess auto. I don't really see the big issue with the brakes wearing out at 20-30,000 Kms ... I had a Honda prelude that would need new brakes every 12-14 months and new rotors every 18 months with an average 10-15,000Kms/year. Its not just a 'dodge' thing. I'm sure they are trying to keep costs down but when it comes down to car maintenance its the owners responsibility to be on top of it. If you're not satisfied with your dealer don't keep going back to them hoping that they will 'see the light'. There is always the option of doing the service elsewhere or yourself. I just got an 2010 sxt and from the information I am getting from this excellent forum I will be more than ready for a journey issue if and when it crops up. -sorry if it sounds like a rant..
  17. Gonna see the dealer tonight and check on some other models on the lot. Got a foam spacer block for it ready just in case its "supposed " to be like that. Should be an easy enough install through the hvac control area. Thanks though.
  18. Hi. Just picked up my 2010 silver steel FWD SXT. Love it. I have the 3rd row seating with 2nd row climate controls. No sunroof or flipdown LCD. I was wondering if anyone has noticed the headliner giving (bending up) when you go adjust the heat/blower in the second row? I'm thinking that its possibly missing a foam spacer or something. All the models at the dealership had either a sunroof and/or LCD which had pretty good reinforcing, so I had nothing to compare to. Thanks and this forum is awesome. Great source of info!
